박판 저항 용접부의 초음파 영상진단에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ultrasonic Diagnosis of Spot Welding in Thin Plates)

  • Spot welding widely used in automotive and aerospace industries has made it possible to produce more precise and smaller electric part by robotization and systemization of welding process. The quality of welding depends upon the size of nugget between the overlapped steel plates. Recently, the thickness of the steel plates becomes much thinner and hence, it introduces the smaller size of nugget. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the criterion to evaluate the quality of weld in order to obtain the optimal welding conditions for the better performance. In this paper, a thin steel plates, 0.1mm through 0.3mm thickness, have been spot-welded at different welding conditions and the nugget sizes are examined by defocused scanning microscopy. The relationships between nugget sizes and weldability have been investigated experimentally. The result of ultrasonic technique shows the good agreement with that of the tensile test.

점용접 간극이 용접성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effects of Welding Clearance on Spot Weldability)

  • The automobile is made up of about twenty thousand parts. Some parts are formed by pressing and combined by spot welding. Among them, steel palate of fuel tank is formed in the metal mold and bending parts are jointed by spot and seam welding. To find weldability conditions of spot welding, clearance between two welding steel plates was made and after spot welding, weldability is evaluated by means of tensile shear load, nugget size and shape. Specimen used in this study was a mild steel of 1.2mm thickness and electrode was Cu-Cr alloy of 6mm diameter. When spot welding started, the clearance of two steel plates was changed 0mm, 3mm and 5mm step by step. The fractured surface of specimen after this test was observed by Optical Microscope to measure microstructure and nugget shape. When clearance of two specimen was 3mm and 5mm, strength and nugget size was decreased and nugget shape was not clear.

  • The conventional way of molten nugget size measurement in welding process have utilized the metal-microscope by examining the micro sectioned weld specimen after micro-etching procedure. This paper proposes a new method for exact measurement of molten nugget size with the aid of the digital image processing unit and some developed software. This method proved to be convenient and precise in that resulting resolution and accuracy are as good as that of the conventional method.

  • The resistance spot welding of high strength steel degrades the weldability because of its high strength with rich chemical composition and coating layer to protect from corrosion. And the weld Expulsion is prone to occur and severely affect the nugget guality when the initial gap between automatic borrowing galvanied steel sheets(SGARC35) and Zn-coateel trip steels(GA580TRIP and GA980 TRIP) exist in resistance spot welding(RSW). RSW is one of the most popular welding processes used to join sheet metals. but weld guality sometimes do creases due to welding condition. in this paper to verity tue weldability using spot welding with the hemispherically concaved electrode, tensile shear strength and cross-tensile strength were measured by a universal test machine. in addition, the nugget size on cross-sectional area of the weld was observed by optical and electron microscopy. As a result, the nugget size of this specimen is increased with increasing welding current and Max load of tensile-shear strength is increased with welding current is increasing.

  • Resistance spot welding has been widely used in the sheet metal joining processes because of its high productivity and convenience. In the resistance spot welding processes the size of molten nugget is a criterion to assess weld quality. Many research have founded on measuring weld nugget size at the same time monitoring welding process parameters such as dynamic resistance and electrode movement. With increasing demand of energy saving, many efforts were made to employ aluminum alloys that are lighter than steel and have relatively equivalent strength to steel in the automobile industry. In this paper, spot weldability of aluminum alloys for various welding conditions were examined by series of experiments. One of the 6000 series (Mg-Si) aluminum alloy, 6383-T4 was chosen, which is currently considered as a substitute for the galvanized steel. Dynamic resistance, electrode movement and corresponding nugget size were observed and compared to the case of steel. Finally, resistance spot welding of dissimilar material (galvanized steel-aluminum alloy) was attempted.

  • Althouah there have been many attempts to control weld quality in resistance spot welding processes, design method for an on-line feedback controller based upon process dynamics has not been suggested. This is due to the fact that the resistance spot welding is a highly complicated process, whice involves the interaction of electrical, thermal, mechanical and metallurgical phenomena. In this paper, an optimal control method based on FDM model with shunt effect is presented, which can regulate the nugget size, at the same time minimizing the control heat input. Optimal PI gain of the controller were determined by numerical optimization. Simulation results show that, as a result of the proposed optimal control, the weld nugget can be made to approach a desired nugget size with less control heat input than that required for the conventional spot welding process in the face of the shunt effect.

토양(土壤)의 입경분포(粒徑分布)에 대(對)한 공간변이성(空間變異性) 분석(分析) -I. Variogram (Analysis of Spatial Variability for Particle Size Distribution of Field Soils -I. Variogram)

  • 지질순계학적(地質純計學的) 개념(槪念)인 지역변수(地域變數) 이론(理論)을 적용(適用)하여 $2{\times}3$ Grid형태(形態)로 표본추출(標本抽出)된 중동사양토(中東砂壤土)와 화동미사질식양토(華東微砂質埴壤土)의 입경분포(粒徑分布)에 대한 공간(空間) 종속성(從屬性)의 구조분석(構造分析) 및 그 해석(解析)과 이것에 의하여 설정(設定)된 Variogram에 기본(基本)을 둔 최량(最良)의 선형불편추정치(線型不編推定置)(BLUE)인 Kriging을 위한 최적(最適)의 표본추출수(標本抽出數)와 그 거리(距離)를 결정(決定)하였으며, 아울러 순수(純粹) Nugget 효과(效果)를 나타내는 특성(特性)의 표본(標本)크기를 결정(決定)하고자 수행(遂行)하였다. (1) 화동토양(華東土壤)은 선형(線型) 그리고 중동토양(中東土壤)은 곡면형(曲面型)의 Variogram을 설정(設定)하였다. (2) 화동토양(華東土壤)은 Nugget 효과(效果)를 나타냈으며, 중동토양(中東土壤)의 경우 점토함량(含量)만 Nugget효과(效果)를 나타내었고 미사와 모래함량(含量)은 순수(純粹) Nugget 효과(效果)를 나타내었다. (3) 표본수(標本數) 96과 근사(近似)한 결과(結果)를 가져올 최적표본수(最適標本數)는 화동토양(華東土壤)의 미사, 점토, 그리고 모래 함량(含量)에서 각각 27, 13, 그리고 6개였으며, 중동토양(中東土壤)의 점토함량(含量)은 17개로 추정(推定)되었다. (4) 순수(純粹) Nugget 효과(效果)를 보인 중동토양(中東土壤)의 미사와 모래함량(含量)에 대하여 유의수준(有意水準) 0.05 에서 모평균(母平均)의 5% 정도(精度)에 필요(必要)한 표본(標本)크기는 각각 14 및 26개 이었다.

  • 최근 자동차 산업은 고효율 자동차의 개발에 박차를 가하고 있으며 이에 따라 차체 경량화 및 내식성 방지를 위한 고강도강 및 도금강의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 자동차 차체에 쓰이는 3종의 다른 강판에 대하여, 겹침 순서에 따른 용접 특성을 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 자동차 차체에 많이 사용되는 EDDQ 급의 도금강판 0.7t와 인장강도 440 MPa급의 440R 1.2t, 그리고 AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel)인 DP 590 0.2t 판재에 대하여 겹치기 순서에 따른 용접 특성을 시뮬레이션 하였고, 너겟 성장 곡선 및 전류에 따른 너겟의 크기로 그 용접성을 분석하였다. 또한 용접 시 발생되는 각 접촉부의 접촉저항을 이용하여 겹침순서에 따른 너겟의 크기를 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 최적의 겹치기 순서를 제안할 수 있었다.
