The aim of this study is to indicate that how to select the releasing fishes for the nourishment of fisheries resources in small ranching area around the Gunsan coastal seas. The collected data were analysed, and revealed that the proper fisheries for releasing around the seas are Limanda Yokohame, sebastes schlegeli, paralichthys olibaceus, black porgy and little clam.

Demersal fishes as second study for the protection-nourishment of fisheries resources in Chinhae Bay were analysed using fish samples collected by a small otter trawler at bimonthly-interval from August, 1997 to June, 1998. Of the 55 species identified, Hexagrammos otakii, Pleuronichthys cornutus, Leiognathus nuchalis, Thrissa koreana, Callionymous lunatus, Acanthogobius flavimanus and Trachurus japonicus predominated in abundance. Especially, Hexagrammos otakii, Pleuronichthys cornutus and Leiognathus nuchalis were always collected at anywhere around a year in the bay. The seasonal fluctuation of number of species is very large as the ranging from 14 species in August to 25, December. The diversity index of individual number and biomass by month and station is 0.68(February)~1.13(October), 0.38(February)~1.06(October) respectively. The indices above mean that the number of species were not distributed broadly over the bay and also concentrated in several species only owing to the local pollutant extent.

Fisheries resources living in inland have continuously reduced due to over-fishing and development thoughtless for the environment. Inland fisheries that target the fisheries resources have been also confronted by several problems such as insufficiency of inland fisheries management systems, inconsistent fisheries management system, inferior infrastructure of inland fisheries, and decreasing fishermen's real income. These problems have demotivated fishermen who want to focus on fishing and farming activation. Therefore, this paper provides alternatives of reorganization for turning to sound and healthy inland fisheries industries by reviewing Korean inland fisheries management systems. The reorganization should be preferentially granted resource management by water system considering geographical conditions, seed release, and establishment of fisheries order for maintenance of sound and healthy inland fisheries. Also, the reorganization should be moved toward the competitive strengthening of "company unit" for inland fisheries, the nourishment of fisher-oriented fisheries management system, strong relationship among inland fishermen, the systematic management of inland fisheries, the strengthening of guidance service for inland fisheries, the extension of infrastructure related to fisheries production, the development of inland fisheries policy including public people, and the improvement of inland fisheries system and law reflecting various users of inland fisheries.

This study deals with litter which has sunk and accumulated on the sea-bed of the Chinhae Bay obtained by using a beam trawler. The litter collected through the duration of survey (1997~1998) were distributed from 8.76~80.63 items/ha and 3.51~108.39 kg/ha, respectively, in quantities and weights. Especially bulky wastes(shell, tires, motorcycle and refrigerator) were composed of 76% of them, next metal and glasses, 29.5%. The seasonal variability of litters in the bay is large, as 62% in April, next August, 23%, in total weights.These discarded substances have the widespread distribution but varied in each sampled area. Therefore they exist in a significant pollutants, as threatening the fishing activities and near marine environment, and also potential damage to marine resources.
