A note-book PC has become thinner in recent years, which requires the optical disc drives with small height and high memory capacity. Therefore the actuator of optical disc drives must be thinner and have disc tilt compensation function for high density memory. In this paper, the actuator with hybrid type is investigated for 3-axis ultra-slim actuator. A 3-axis ultra-slim actuator is designed by using the modal analysis of the actuator and the electromagnetic analysis of magnetic circuit to achieve dynamic characteristics. Also, magnetic force between tilt magnet and tilt yoke is investigated to and the influence on the DC sensitivity in the focus and track directions.

This paper presents a scheme that generates a caption file by extracting a Closed Caption stream from DTV signal. Note that Closed-Captioning service helps to bridge "digital divide" through extending broadcasting accessibility of a neglected class such as hearing-impaired person and foreigner. In Korea, DTV Closed Captioning standard was developed in June 2007, and Closed Captioning service should be supported by an enforcing law in all broadcasting services in 2008. In this paper, we describe the method of extracting a caption data from MPEG-2 Transport Stream of ATSC-based digital TV signal and generating a caption file (SAMI and SRT) using the extracted caption data and time information. Experimental results verify the feasibility of a generated caption file using a PC-based media player which is widely used in multimedia service.

This paper presents a high speed ethernet communication and depulication method of communication to prevent decrease of reliability that was generated by high speed communication. Thus communication reliability was improved and this paper was considered that if any physical breakdown of line of communication occurred, other line of communication could operate collect. This paper used Flash memory for setting storage of backup data at Electric Car that have an humidity and a temperature and an impact. also improved reliability and besides matching data format to windows data format realized to confirm application program at PC or note book computer.

Recently, the demands of the high quality LCD display device have increased. We have developed the smart LCD that photo sensor is integrated in. Amorphous silicon TFTs have photo leakage current characteristics when the channel of TFTs are lighted on. This characteristic has applied in our device. We expect that photo sensor integrated LCDs have lots of merits in mobile display device, note PC panel and LCD TV.

무선랜(Wireless LAN)으로도 불리는 Wi-Fi 기술은 1997년 IEEE 802.11 전송 규격(Legacy Standard)이 출간된 이후 지속적인 보완과 개정 작업을 통해 그 규격이 발전되어 가며 스마트폰, Tablet, Note-PC 등 개인 휴대 단말 기기를 위한 데이터 네트워크의 필수적인 구성 요소가 되었다. IEEE 표준과 별도로 표준 인증기관인 Wi-Fi Alliance를 통하여 제품 간 무선연결 호환성의 확보 뿐 아니라 Wi-Fi 기반 서비스 규격 제정에 이르기까지 Wi-Fi 표준 작업이 수행되고 있다. 본고에서는 나날이 발전해 온 Wi-Fi 기술 표준을 전송 속도 향상 측면과 주파수 대역 확장 측면에서 살펴보고, 차세대 Wi-Fi 기술인 IEEE 802.11ax, 즉 HEW(High Efficiency WLAN) 표준에 대하여 살펴보도록 한다.

The AC-DC Adapter has been widely used in Mobile Phones, Note Book PC, LCD monitors, and portable electronic products. Recently, high-power-density Adapter was developed. This adapter increases power factor using a bridge diode rectifier and PFC, however, there are weak points that improving efficiency is limited. In the bridgeless rectifier circuit proposed in this paper, there is no PFC, however, the power factor and efficiency are improved by BCM and ZCS operations.

본 논문은 LED-TV용 SMPS EMI 감쇄 필터에서 적용되고 있는 저주파와 고주파의 광범위한 대역에서 EMI 감쇄가 가능한 기생 커패시턴스 저감형 Hybrid 초크 코일의 코일 구조, 권선 방법 및 섹션 보빈에 따른 기생 커패시턴스 임피던스 모델링을 나타내고 있다. 특히 본 논문에서 제안한 기생 커패시턴스 저감형 Hybrid 초크 코일은 평각 동선 권선방법을 채택함으로써 기존의 자동 권선형 공통 모드 초크 코일에 비해 기생커패시턴스($C_p$)을 저감할 수 있다. 기생 커패시턴스($C_p$)가 작아짐에 따라 제안한 기생 커패시턴스 저감형 Hybrid 초크 코일의 1차 공진 주파수는 증가하며 1차 공진 주파수가 증가함에 따라 특히 고주파 대역에서 임피던스특성이 개선됨을 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기생 커패시턴스 저감형 Hybrid 초크 코일은 향후 LED-TV SMPS를 포함한 LED 조명, Note-PC Adapter 등과 같은 다양한 분야에 응용되리라 사료된다.

The increase of system weight due to installation of cooling devices adds electrical and mechanical loads of humanoid robot, and in return, results in much heat. Therefore, the weight of cooling system is a critical issue for robot cooling. In this study, we propose non-metallic cold plates to deal with such problems. We compare thermal performances between one metallic cold plate and five different types of non-metallic cold plates. A metallic cold plate is totally made of copper. Five non-metallic PC(polycarbonate) cold plates, which are designed to reduce the overall weight of robot cooling system, are composed of a polycarbonate cover with different types of base plate. The overall heat transfer coefficients per unit mass and thermal resistances are obtained for the cold plates. The metallic cold plate shows the best thermal performance. It is interesting to note that the PC cold plate with an aluminum base plate with 18 channels shows the best overall heat transfer coefficient per unit mass. Most polycarbonate cold plates display fairly comparable thermal performance with more reduced system weight compared to the metallic cold plate.

It was shown that brain-derived neurotrophic factors (BDNFs) secreted from human neuroblastoma cells can significantly improve the growth of the neurites of PC12 nerve cells. The addition of purified BDNFs elongated the neurites of PC 12 nerve cells two to three times more than the case where the addition was not made. The perfusion rate strongly affected the change of the size of human neuroblastoma cells because the cell size decreased as the perfusion rate increased. This could also influence the productivity of BDNF from the cells. It is also important to note that the BDNF production was decreased when the cell size was reduced. BDNF production rate also decreased at a fast perfusion rate in a smaller cell size. At the relatively fast perfusion rate of 18 ml/h, the ratio of apoptotic to necrotic cells dramatically decreased, which possibly caused the decrease of BDNF production. It has been proven that the secretion of BDNF from human neuroblastoma cells was a partially growth-related process by yielding 6.2$\times l0^{-8}/g$ of BDNF/cell/h of growth related parameter and $0.48{\times}l0^{-9}/g$ of BDNF/cell/h of nongrowth-related parameter in a growth kinetic model. In addition, it was also found that the perfusion rate played a very important role in controlling the cell death mechanism.
