  • This study aims to analysis the types of features of confucian values of China normal university students. To achieve this purpose, Q methodology is applied. This study was conducted at Sichuan Normal University in China. Total 42 students and 47 statements collected through literature research. The implementation were formed in four types, statism, traditionalism, nominalism, and naturalism. Through this study, from the perspective of international relations, family relations, and friendship, all four type of features were presented intellectualized intelligentiae. The common feature of the four types is gender role, and the cognition of gender role is changing, and women will becoming an independent individual. Although confucian values had made great contribution for the development of Chinese traditional culture, it is an undeniable fact that some ideas not according with the modern social demand for development are hidden in the back. And we should look at and appreciate confucian values from a comprehensive and dialectic view.

  • The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of the ETR test as compared to other thyroid function tests in normal persons, patients with thyroid disorders and patients with alterations of thyroxine-binding proteins. The ETR values were obtained from 35 cases as normal control, 63 hyperthyroid patients, 56 euthyroid patients, 23 hypothyroid patients, 10 pregnant women, 5 women taking oral contraceptive medication, 8 liver cirrhosis patients and 4 nephrotic syndrome patients. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The mean value of ETR obtained from the normal controls was $0.99{\pm}0.06$. 2. The mean ETR values of various thyroid states were $1.25{\pm}0.16$ in hyperthyroidism, $0.99{\pm}0.08$ in euthyroidism and $0.82{\pm}0.05$ in hypothyroidism and significant difference was found between these groups. 3. Seven out of 63 hyperthyroid patients(11.1%) and 2 out of 23 hypothyroid patients(8.7%) had ETR values within normal range and among the 56 euthyroid patients 6(10.7%) had ETR values outside normal range, so the diagnostic compatibility of ETR was 89.4% in thyroid diseases. 4. Even though the ETR value was well correlated with $^{131}I$-thyroid uptake rate, serum $T_3$ resin uptake rate and serum $T_4$, a high positive correlation was found (r=0.79) between ETR and $T_7$. 5. The mean ETR values from patients with alteration in TBG binding capacity were $0.99{\pm}0.05$ in pregnant women, $0.98{\pm}0.04$ in women with oral contraceptive medication, $1.04{\pm}0.09$ in liver cirrhosis patients and $0.94{\pm}0.02$ in nephrotic syndrome patients and most of them (85.2%) had ETR values within normal range. Our results, therefore, suggests that the ETR estimation does offer the simplest and most reliable single procedure for the screening and diagnosis of various thyroid diseases as a indirect indicator of serum-free thyroxine concentration without essential influence of changes in the thyroxine-binding proteins in serum.

  • Reject inference in credit scoring is a statistical approach to adjust for nonrandom sample bias due to rejected applicants. Function estimation approaches are based on the assumption that rejected applicants are not necessary to be included in the estimation, when the missing data mechanism is missing at random. On the other hand, the density estimation approach by using mixture models indicates that reject inference should include rejected applicants in the model. When mixture models are chosen for reject inference, it is often assumed that data follow a normal distribution. If data include missing values, an application of the normal mixture model to fully observed cases may cause another sample bias due to missing values. We extend reject inference by a multivariate normal mixture model to handle incomplete characteristic variables. A simulation study shows that inclusion of incomplete characteristic variables outperforms the function estimation approaches.

  • The objectives of this study are to investigate the measurements of clothing for the handicapped compared to that of the normal, and to present the basic data to make clothing for the handicapped who has specific needs. Questionnaires were administered to 927 Cerebral Palsies on height, weight, chest circumference, sitting height, and to 70 handicapped people using a supporting parasite on 18 measurement items. The results show that height, weight , and sitting height of the handicapped are smaller than those of the normal of equal age except for chest circumference. And, the values of the items for the lower half are smaller than the normal of equal age and those for the upper half, especially the items for the shoulder and arm, are greater. Compared to the values of the normal in the three standad size charts, the size charts using height and chest circumference are unsuitable to the handicapped, and the size chart using hip circumference is approximately suitable.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the changes of blood chemical values in 61 crossbred calves at 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 9 weeks of age, respectively. The blood chemical values of calves with diarrhea were compared with those of normal calves, and blood chemical values were compared for groups of calves with weight gain divided into four ranges; up to 0.9 kg/wk and over 7.0 kg/wk. The results obtained in this study show that the mean values and standard deviation of red blood cell (RBC) and packed cell volume (PCV) of normal calves at 1 day of age (806.7$\pm $56.5 10$^{4}$/$\mu$l and 33.8$\pm $5.2 %) decreased at 1 week of age and increased at 2 and 4 weeks of age. The PCV of normal calves at 9 weeks of age (32.6$\pm $2.3 %) was significantly lower than that at 2 and 4 weeks of age (p<0.05). Total protein of normal calves at 1 day of age (6.8$\pm $0.5 g/100 ml) decreased to 6.4$\pm $0.6 g/100ml at 1 week and increased to 7.0$\pm $ 0.7 g/100 ml at 2 weeks. After 2 weeks of age, total protein tended to decrease gradually to 9 weeks of age. Glucose of normal calves at 9 weeks of age (78$\pm $4 mg/100 ml) was significantly lower than that at 1 week (110$\pm $8 mg/100 ml) (p<0.01). At all ages, RBC, white blood cell (WBC), PCV and fibrinogen of calves with diarrhea were higher than those of normal calves. RBC and PCV of calves with diarrhea at 1 week of age (929.7$\pm $39.7 10$^{4}$/$\mu$ and 42.3$\pm $0.4 % were significantly higher than those of normal calves at 1 week (786.4$\pm $80.9 10$^{4}$/$\mu$l and 32.2$\pm $3.8 %) (p< 0.05), which suggest that diarrhea at this age can be dangerous. The weekly weight gain was an average of 4.2 kg/wk from birth to 9weeks. RBC, PCV, fibrinogen, total protein and vitamin E of calves with weight gain more than 4.0kg/wk. From the above results we obtained eledata support the importance of providing high quality feed from 4 weeks to 9 weeks of age for satisfactory weight gain of calves.

  • Recently, a new kind of multiple zeta value of level two T(k) (which is called multiple T-value) was introduced and studied by Kaneko and Tsumura. In this paper, we define a kind of alternating version of multiple T-values, and study several duality formulas of weighted sum formulas about alternating multiple T-values by using the methods of iterated integral representations and series representations. Some special values of alternating multiple T-values can also be obtained.

  • The objectives of this study were to develop restructured meat products(RMPs) using a transgluta-minase(TGase) and to improve the textural characteristics of RMPs manufactured with pale, soft, exudative(PSE) pork hams. The pH values of RMPs with PSE and normal pork were 5.94 and 6.07, respectively, and their water activity value was approximately 0.981. The RMPs had 70∼72% moisture, 4∼5% fat, 19∼20% protein, and approximately 3% ash contents. No differences in pH, water activity, chemical composition, and hunter color values were observed between RMPs manufactured with normal and PSE pork(p>0.05). However, RMPs containing PSE pork hams had higher drip loss(%)(p>0.05) than those with normal pork hams after 10 days of refrigerated storage. Although no differences were observed in the texture profile analysis(TPA) hardness and sensory evaluation, RMPs with PSE pork hams tended to have more pores and lower binding capacity those with normal pork. This result indicated that additional substrates or longer tumbling time(>4 hr) for the manufacture of RMPs containing PSE pork were required for the products to have similar palatability to those with normal pork.
