  • In this paper, we study affine transformations of normal bases and give an explicit formulation of the multiplication table of an affine transformation of a normal basis. We then discuss constructions of self-dual normal bases using affine transformations of traces of a type I optimal normal basis and of a Gauss period normal basis.

  • The purpose of this study is to describe Eating Behavior for High school boys who are obesity using three factors(dietary restraint, disinhibition, hunger). The subjects were 200 high school boys. The convenience sample is consist of 101 normal weight boys and 99 obeses weight boys. Data were collected between Mat 1 and June 20 in 2000 and analyzed using the SAS package. The results are as follows: 1. The first hypothesis was not supported that is, the normal weight boys much more doing dietary restraint than the obese boys. 2. The second hypothesis was supported that is, the obese boys more experience disinhibition than the normal weight boys. 3. The third hypothesis was supported that is, the obese boys more experience hunger than the normal weight boys. The eating behavior of obese boys is different that of normal weight boys, The obese boys more experience disinhibition and hunger than the normal weight boys, but dietary restraint was more done the normal weight boys than the obese boys.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the maternal behavior between mothers of tic-disordered children and mothers of normal. The subjects of this study were 30 mothers of tic-disordered children from Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul National Mental Hospital and two personal mental practice offices, also, there were another 30 mothers of normal. Statistical methods selected for data analyses were freqences, t-test. The main results of this study were summerized as follows; 1. The maternal behavior of normal children was warmer than that of tic-disordered at the level of p<.001. 2. The maternal behavior of normal children was more acceptable than that of tic-disordered. But, no statistical significance. 3. Mothers of normal children were more extrovert than mothers of tic-disordered at the level of p<.01. 4. The maternal behavior of tic-disordered provoked more dependency than that of normal at the level of p<.001. 5. Mothers of tic-disordered controlled children more than those of normal. But, no statistical significance. 6. Mothers of tic-disordered evaluated children and themselves more negative than those of normal at the level of p<.001. 7. Mothers of tic-disordered have more dependent tendencies than those of normal. But, no statistical significant.

  • The purpose of this studied was the comparison with shoulder girdle muscles of isokinetic evaluation in the spinal cord injury group, and adults normal group. Data was collected from 20 cases spinal cord injury from January 10. 1994 to February 10, 1995 in a Chungnam University hospital and adults normal group to 20 cases. The results were as follows; 1. Low speeds peak torque was higher spinal cord group than normal group shoulder girdle muscles of flexor, extensor, external rotator showed statistically significant in spinal cord injury group(p<0.05). Against normal groups shoulder girdle muscles of internal rotator showed statistically significant in normal group(p<0.05). 2. High speeds peak torque was higher spinal cord group than normal group shoulder girdle muscles of flexor, extensor, showed statistically significant in spinal cord injury group(p<0.05). 3. High speeds total work was higher spinal cord group than normal group shoulder girdle muscles of flexor, extensor, external rotator showed statistically significant in spinal cord injury group(p<0.05).(p<0.01). Against normal group shoulder girdle muscles of internal rotator showed statistically significant in normal group(p<0.05).

  • This study was performed to investigated the difference in the nutritional status of normal children and children with suboptimal iron status. Two hundred and sixty children from 5th grade were divided into 2 groups(normal group and suboptimal group) according to the hematologic parameters of iron(RBC count, hemoglobin, serum ferritin). Normal group was composed of 71 male and 81 female and suboptimal group was consisted of 65 male and 43 female. Fat percentage of children from suboptimal group was 18.9%, which was significantly lower than 22.1% of normal group(p<0.05). TST and MAC of suboptimal group were also lower than those of normal group(p<0.05). Mean intakes of energy, protein, thiamin, riboflavin, iron were lower than those in normal group(p<0.05). suboptimal female students showed 1197.6㎉ of energy intake(63.0% of RDA) and 0.56㎎ of thiamin intake(56% of RDA). Mean RBC count, hematocrit, hemoglobin, ferritin(p<0.01) and FEP(p<0.05) of suboptimal group were lower than those of normal group. Thirty-nine point seven percent of children from suboptimal group was observed with having gastrointestinal disease which was significantly higher than 22.1% of normal group. • This study discusses Johnson's $S_U$-normal distribution capturing a wide range of non-normality in various regression models. We provide the likelihood inference using Johnson's $S_U$-normal distribution, and propose a likelihood ratio (LR) test for normality. We also apply the $S_U$-normal distribution to the binary and censored regression models. Monte Carlo simulations are used to show that the LR test using the $S_U$-normal distribution can be served as a model specification test for normal error distribution, and that the $S_U$-normal maximum likelihood (ML) estimators tend to yield more reliable marginal effect estimates in the binary and censored model when the error distributions are non-normal.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the reliability of Inyoung-Chongu pulse diagnosis by analyzing Inyoung-Chongu pulse measured on normal people. I measure the size of Inyoung & Chongu pulse, ratio of Inyoung to Chongu, and ratio of Chongu to Inyoung on 50 normal people. Inyoung pulse of normal people is $6.44{\pm}1.62$ volt and Chongu pulse of normal people is $6.81{\pm}1.70$ volt. The ratio of Inyoun to Chongu is $1.03{\pm}0.50$ and that of Chongu to Inyoung is $1.12{\pm}0.41$. Through this experiment, I conclude that the Inyoung-Chongu pulse diagnosis is reproducible on normal people and can develop pulse diagnosis device through comparison between Inyoung and Chongu pulse.

  • This study examined the impact of perceived volume on satiety using 400 g kimchi fried rice in a normal rice bowl (Normal-400), 300 g kimchi fried rice in an augmented rice bowl with an elevated bottom (Illusion-300 and 300 g kimchi fried rice in a normal rice bowl (Normal-300). Thirty-six healthy women took part in this study once a week for three weeks. The Normal-400 (1st week), Illusion-300 (2nd week), and Normal-300 (3rd week) bowls were used to served kimchi fried rice to the same participants over three consecutive weeks. After each lunch, the consumption volume of fried rice, perception volume, and satiety rate were measured. The consumption volume of the fried rice was 313.8 g with the Normal-400, 248.9 g with the Illusion-300 and 240.2 g with the Normal-300. The perceived volume on an estimated five-point scale was 4.0 with the Normal-400, 4.1 with the Illusion-300 and 2.4 with the Normal-300. We compared the post-meal satiety of perceptually equal but quantitatively different amounts of food served in two different bowls (Normal-400 vs Illusion-300) and found that the participants felt equally full with both bowls despite having consumed significantly more food from the Normal-400. We also compared the post-meal satiety of perceptually different but quantitatively equal amounts of food in two different bowls (Illusion-300 vs Normal-300) and discovered that the subjects felt significantly fuller with the Illusion-300 although similar amounts of food were consumed from the two bowls. These two comparisons showed that visual cues play a critical role in determining satiety and that perceived volume is perhaps more important than the actual volume of consumed food, while in determining the level of fullness.
