바지 맞음새 평가 시 전문가와 초보자의 시선추적 및 맞음새 평가 항목의 중요도 비교분석 - Eye Tracking 기법을 이용하여 - (Comparison of Eye Movement and Fit Rating Criteria in Judging Pants Fit Between Experts and Novices - Using Eye Tracking Technology -)

  • In the clothes industry, there are lack of experts including technical designers who can analyze the fit of clothes. This study is to provide practical data available for fit analysis education by distinguishing the differences in standards and aspects of garment fit between experts and novices, through the eye-tracking technology to quantify the sense of fit. For this study, two groups were organized; one composed of 7 experts with over 15 year-experience including technical designers and patternmakers, and the other composed of 7 novices who are students majoring in clothing. Wearing the goggle type eye-tracker Tobii Pro Glasses 2, the participants in the experiments were required to conduct fit analyses for a pair of pants on a live model. After those experiments, they were required to check the items for fit analysis and assess the importance level of them on a questionnaire. The differences between the two groups in the ratios of total visit count and total visit duration by each AIO(Area of Interest) of clothes were analyzed through non-parametric statistical test. The results of eye tracking experiments showed that experts focused on center front and back line, crotch area, and side seam, while novice's fixation points were dispersed around the pants. The survey results showed that the experts put importance on the center line position and its verticality, front-back proportion of side seam line, and front-back proportion of waist line, 71.4~100% of whom checked them, while 14.3% of the novices checked them.

통계적 분석 기법을 활용한 자동차 검사 안전지수 및 환경지수 개발 (Development of Safety and Environment Index for Vehicle Inspection Data Using Statistical Methods)

  • It is important to guarantee the safety of vehicle to minimize the damage to the driver in case of the accidents. In order to inspect and later enhance the safety of vehicle, the owner of the vehicle usually have a vehicle safety inspection. The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KOTSA) issues the Comprehensive Performance Inspection Certificate after vehicle inspection. The certificate only specify the legal inspection criteria for safety and measured values of the safety parameters, however, as ordinary driver in lack of expert knowledge about the vehicle is difficult to understand the contents of the Certificate. Thus, in this paper, the authors try to give the information about the inspection results in easier way to understand. This information not only guarantees the owner of the vehicle to better understand the inspection results, but it also gives the opportunity to the driver to deal with the specific problem listed in the results. The methods in this paper are to transform the vehicle inspection data into the non parametric distribution to easily represent the values to the index later on. Also, example indexes are presented to the actually inspected vehicle based on the reference distribution to show the better assessment of the developed method.

The Diagnostic Assessment of Hand Elevation Test in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Objective : The aim of this study is to establish the value of hand elevation test as a reproducible provocative test for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods : We had a prospective study of 45 hands of 38 patients diagnosed with CTS between April 2005 and February 2009. The diagnosis of CTS was based on the American Academy of Neurology clinical diagnostic criteria. Experimental and control group patients underwent Tinel's test, Phalen's test, carpal compression test and hand elevation test as provocative tests for CTS. Results : We used chi-square analysis to compare Tinel's test and Phalen's test, carpal compression test with hand elevation test. The sensitivity and specificity of the hand elevation test is 86.7% and 88.9% each. Tinel's test had 82.2% sensitivity and 88.9% specificity. Phalen's test had 84.4% sensitivity and 86.7% specificity. Carpal compression test had 84.4% sensitivity 82.2% specificity. Comparisons of sensitivity and specificity between hand elevation test and Tinel's test, Phalen's test, and carpal compression test had no statistically significant differences. To compare the diagnostic accuracies of four tests, the area under the non-parametric receiver operating character curve was applied. Conclusion : The hand elevation test has higher sensitivity and specificity than Tinel's test, Phalen's test, and carpal compression test. Chi-square statistical analysis confirms the hand elevation test is not ineffective campared with Tinel's test, Phalen's test, and carpal compression test.

로터리 드로우 벤더를 이용한 타원형 튜브의 유한요소 벤딩 해석 (Finite Element Bending Analysis of Oval Tubes Using Rotary Draw Bender for Hydroforming Applications)

  • In manufacturing automotive parts, such as engine cradles, frame rails, subframes, cross-members, and other parts from circular tubes, pre-bending and pre-forming operations are often required prior to the subsequent tubular hydroforming process. During some pre-forming operations, the cross section of a bent circular tube is crushed into an oval-like shape to ensure proper geometry and sufficient clearance in the hydroforming dies. For such applications, the use of oval Instead of circular tubes could be an effective means of eliminating the pre-forming step. The oval tube could also be produced with less thinning and with less strain on the outside of the bend when controlled by a booster system without the use of mandrel. Hence, the understanding of the issues that occur in the bending of oval tubes is worthy of Investigation. This paper presents parametric studies on the bending of oval tubes without a mandrel. The finite element modeling technique is used to examine the deformation characteristics for both circular and oval tubes. In the simulations, the bending process parameters of bend radius, aspect ratio of the tube ovalness, and tube wall thickness are varied. Observations are made to obtain a hoop-buckle limit diagram in terms of a non-dimensional shape degradation factor. Suggestions based upon developed criteria are made on the acceptability of bend tubes suitable for hydroforming applications without the need ofa pre-forming step or the used of a mandrel.

Advanced analysis of cyclic behaviour of plane steel frames with semi-rigid connections

  • This paper presents the details of an advanced Finite Element (FE) analysis of a plane steel portal frame with semi-rigid beam-to-column connections subjected cyclic loading. In spite of several component models on cyclic behaviour of connections presented in the literature, works on numerical investigations on cyclic behaviour of full scale frames are rather scarce. This paper presents the evolution of an FE model which deals comprehensively with the issues related to cyclic behaviour of full scale steel frames using ABAQUS software. In the material modeling, combined kinematic/isotropic hardening model and isotropic hardening model along with Von Mises criteria are used. Connection non-linearity is also considered in the analysis. The bolt slip which happens in friction grip connection is modeled. The bolt load variation during loading, which is a pivotal issue in reality, has been taken care in the present model. This aspect, according to the knowledge of the authors, has been first time reported in the literature. The numerically predicted results using the methodology evolved in the present study, for the cyclic behaviour of a cantilever beam and a rigid frame, are validated with experimental results available in the literature. The moment-rotation and deflection responses of the evolved model, match well with experimental results. This proves that the methodology for evolving the steel frame and connection model presented in this paper is closer to real frame behaviour as evident from the good comparison and hence paves the way for further parametric studies on cyclic behaviour of flexibly connected frames.

최적 편이보정 기법의 선택을 통한 대표 전지구모형의 선정 (Selection framework of representative general circulation models using the selected best bias correction method)

  • 본 연구에서는 미래 기후예측을 위하여 활용되는 전지구모형(general circulation model, GCM) 중 우리나라에 적합한 대표 GCM을 선정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이에 격자 기반 GCM 결과를 IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) 방법을 사용하여 기상 관측소로 지점 규모로 상세화를 하여 관측강수와 비교하였다. GCM과 관측자료 사이의 편이를 보정하기 위하여 6가지 Quantile Mapping 방법과 Random Forest 기법을 사용하였고, 성능 지표를 비교하여 대표 편이보정방법을 선정하였다. 편이보정된 GCM 모의 결과에 대한 성능을 계산하고 다기준의사결정기법 중 하나인 TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) 방법을 이용하여 가장 우수한 GCM을 선정하였다. 그 결과 편이보정방법을 NPT (Non-Parametric Transformation) 방법 중 EQ (Empirical Quantile) 방법이 선정되었고, TOPSIS 성능 평가 결과, GISS-E2-R이 가장 우수하였다. 그 다음으로 우수한 GCM을 순서대로 제시하면 MIROC5, CSIRO-Mk3-6-0, CCSM4 이었다. 향후 더 많은 GCM 자료를 이용한다면 보다 보편적인 결과를 도출할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다분류 SVM을 이용한 DEA기반 벤처기업 효율성등급 예측모형 (The Prediction of DEA based Efficiency Rating for Venture Business Using Multi-class SVM)

  • For the last few decades, many studies have tried to explore and unveil venture companies' success factors and unique features in order to identify the sources of such companies' competitive advantages over their rivals. Such venture companies have shown tendency to give high returns for investors generally making the best use of information technology. For this reason, many venture companies are keen on attracting avid investors' attention. Investors generally make their investment decisions by carefully examining the evaluation criteria of the alternatives. To them, credit rating information provided by international rating agencies, such as Standard and Poor's, Moody's and Fitch is crucial source as to such pivotal concerns as companies stability, growth, and risk status. But these types of information are generated only for the companies issuing corporate bonds, not venture companies. Therefore, this study proposes a method for evaluating venture businesses by presenting our recent empirical results using financial data of Korean venture companies listed on KOSDAQ in Korea exchange. In addition, this paper used multi-class SVM for the prediction of DEA-based efficiency rating for venture businesses, which was derived from our proposed method. Our approach sheds light on ways to locate efficient companies generating high level of profits. Above all, in determining effective ways to evaluate a venture firm's efficiency, it is important to understand the major contributing factors of such efficiency. Therefore, this paper is constructed on the basis of following two ideas to classify which companies are more efficient venture companies: i) making DEA based multi-class rating for sample companies and ii) developing multi-class SVM-based efficiency prediction model for classifying all companies. First, the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) is a non-parametric multiple input-output efficiency technique that measures the relative efficiency of decision making units(DMUs) using a linear programming based model. It is non-parametric because it requires no assumption on the shape or parameters of the underlying production function. DEA has been already widely applied for evaluating the relative efficiency of DMUs. Recently, a number of DEA based studies have evaluated the efficiency of various types of companies, such as internet companies and venture companies. It has been also applied to corporate credit ratings. In this study we utilized DEA for sorting venture companies by efficiency based ratings. The Support Vector Machine(SVM), on the other hand, is a popular technique for solving data classification problems. In this paper, we employed SVM to classify the efficiency ratings in IT venture companies according to the results of DEA. The SVM method was first developed by Vapnik (1995). As one of many machine learning techniques, SVM is based on a statistical theory. Thus far, the method has shown good performances especially in generalizing capacity in classification tasks, resulting in numerous applications in many areas of business, SVM is basically the algorithm that finds the maximum margin hyperplane, which is the maximum separation between classes. According to this method, support vectors are the closest to the maximum margin hyperplane. If it is impossible to classify, we can use the kernel function. In the case of nonlinear class boundaries, we can transform the inputs into a high-dimensional feature space, This is the original input space and is mapped into a high-dimensional dot-product space. Many studies applied SVM to the prediction of bankruptcy, the forecast a financial time series, and the problem of estimating credit rating, In this study we employed SVM for developing data mining-based efficiency prediction model. We used the Gaussian radial function as a kernel function of SVM. In multi-class SVM, we adopted one-against-one approach between binary classification method and two all-together methods, proposed by Weston and Watkins(1999) and Crammer and Singer(2000), respectively. In this research, we used corporate information of 154 companies listed on KOSDAQ market in Korea exchange. We obtained companies' financial information of 2005 from the KIS(Korea Information Service, Inc.). Using this data, we made multi-class rating with DEA efficiency and built multi-class prediction model based data mining. Among three manners of multi-classification, the hit ratio of the Weston and Watkins method is the best in the test data set. In multi classification problems as efficiency ratings of venture business, it is very useful for investors to know the class with errors, one class difference, when it is difficult to find out the accurate class in the actual market. So we presented accuracy results within 1-class errors, and the Weston and Watkins method showed 85.7% accuracy in our test samples. We conclude that the DEA based multi-class approach in venture business generates more information than the binary classification problem, notwithstanding its efficiency level. We believe this model can help investors in decision making as it provides a reliably tool to evaluate venture companies in the financial domain. For the future research, we perceive the need to enhance such areas as the variable selection process, the parameter selection of kernel function, the generalization, and the sample size of multi-class.

양극성장애 환자의 하지불안증후군 유병율과 관련 특성 (Prevalence and Its Correlates of Restless Legs Syndrome in Outpatients with Bipolar Disorders)

  • 연구목적 본 연구는 외래 치료 중인 양극성 장애 환자에서 하지불안증후군(restless legs syndrome, RLS)의 유병률과 관련 특성을 알아보기 위해서 시도 되었다. 방 법 안정적으로 외래 치료 중인 양극성 장애 환자 100명이 본 연구에 포함되었다. RLS의 진단과 증상의 심한 정도는 International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group에서 개발한 진단 기준을 이용하였다. Beck 우울증 척도(Beck's Depression Inventory), 상태 불안 척도(Spielberg's State Anxiety Inventory), 피츠버그 수면의 질 설문지(Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), 한국판 약물태도 척도(Korean version Drug Attitude Inventory), 한국어판 항정신병약물치료 중 주관적 안녕감 척도-단축형(Subjective Well-Beings under Neuroleptic Treatment Scale-Short Form)과 반즈 좌불안석증 평가 척도(Barnes Akathisia Rating Scale) 등이 각각 우울 증상, 불안의 수준, 주관적 수면의 질, 주관적 안녕감, 약물에 대한 주관적 태도, 좌불안석증의 유무를 평가하는데 사용되었다. 결 과 연구대상자 100명 중 7명(7%)이 RLS로 진단되었으며, RLS의 필수 진단기준을 1개 이상 가지는 환자는 36명(36%)이었다. 본 연구의 표본의 크기가 작은 이유로 세 그룹 간 비모수적 검정을 시행하였다(RLS의 필수진단 기준을 모두 만족하는 그룹, RLS로 진단할 수는 없지만 RLS 필수진단 기준을 1개 이상 가지고 있는 그룹, RLS 필수진단 기준에 해당되지 않는 그룹). 세 그룹 간에 성별, 나이, 그 밖의 인구사회학적 특성에 유의한 차이는 없었다. RLS환자군 및 RLS증상군은 대조군에 비해 우울 및 불안증상이 더 많았고, 수면의 질이 더 낮은 경향을 보였다. 결 론 본 연구는 양극성장애 환자에서 RLS 유병률과 이와 관련된 특성을 살펴본 첫 예비 연구라 할 수 있다. 연구의 결과는 조현병 환자와 비교할 때 양극성 장애와 RLS의 연관성이 비교적 적다는 것을 시사한다. RLS가 있는 양극성 장애 환자에서 우울 및 불안 증상이 더 많고 수면의 질이 더 낮은 경향은 조현병 환자에서도 관찰이 된다. 향후 대규모 연구에서 보다 과학적인 연구방법을 통해 양극성장애와 RLS와의 연관성에 대해 조사할 필요가 있을 것이다.

연속체 절리모델을 이용한 불연속성암반 내 지하공동의 변형거동에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Deformation Behaviour of Underground Opening in a Discontinuous Rock Mass Using a Continuum Joint Model)

  • 일반적으로 현지 암반은 강도의 변화가 심 한 다양한 불연속면들을 포함하여 불균질하고 불연속성 을 나타낸다. 절리, 단층, 균열, 층리와 같은 불연속면들은 암반의 강도와 변형특성을 좌우하는 중요한 요인이다. 결과적으로, 지하공동의 안정성은 무결암의 역학적 특성뿐만 아니 라, 공동의 기하학적 형상과 관련하여 불연속면들의 공간적 분포와 역학적 특성에 크게 영 향을 받는다. 따라서 지하심부의 응력 조건에서의 공동설계를 위해서는 불연속 암반의 거동에 대한 정확한 이해가 필수적이다. 암반역 학 분야의 발전에 의하여 등방성 암반에서 의지 하공동 설계를 위한 기준이 제시되고 있으나, 불연속성 암반의 변형 거동은 불명확성 이 여전히 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 연속체절 리모델을 적용하여 불연속성 암반내의 지하공동 주변의 소성영역의 크기, 응력분포 및 변형거동에 대하여 매개변수의 변화에 따른 영향을 고찰하였다. Mohr-Coulomb 파괴 이론에 의한 탄소성 유한차분법을 적용하였으며, 비조합 유동법칙과 완전소성 물질거 동을 가정하였다.
