  • This paper is concerned with the development of the vibration isolation system using piezoelectric actuators and sensors. The active vibration absorber system consists of 4 pairs of PZT actuators bonded on aluminum plates making s- shaped device. Hence, the active system is directly connected to the passive system. The rubber attached to the end of the beam is connected to the upper base as a structural member. It allows bending thus maximizing the vertical movement generated by the piezoceramic actuators.   • Rubber has high damping and can be formed as various shape according to specific purpose. So, Rubber has widely used as isolation mounts. However, there are still a lot of difficulties in understanding of static and dynamic characteristics of compressed and shear rubber mounts. In this paper, Static characteristics of the rubber isolation mount are observed by the analytical method and FEM. Also dynamic characteristics of rubber mount under compression and shear strain are investigated.

국내 교육시설의 음향기준 제정의 필요성 제고 (Towards better acoustic conditions in school buildings in Korea-a need for Korean standard for classroom acoustics)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 초·중·고 및 대학교 학습공간의 음향 상태에 관해 설명하고 국내 교육시설의 음향 기준 제정의 필요성을 제시하였다. 여러 나라의 학교시설 내 다양한 학습공간에서 요구되는 배경소음, 잔향시간, 그리고 차음 설계의 음향 기준을 이해하기 위해 학교시설 음향설계기준 및 지침을 소개하였다. 국내 초·중·고 및 대학교 학습공간의 음향 상태를 파악하기 위해 현장 측정 결과를 바탕으로 하였으며, 그 결과에서는 공석과 만석 상태의 음향 특성, 배경 소음레벨, 그리고 차음성능을 제시하여 비교하였다. 실제 대학 강의 현장에서 좋은 음성 명료도를 성취하기 위한 음향지표 값도 제시하였다.

  • This paper presents experimental evaluation of IRE (isolation roller bearing) seismic isolation device. From the combination of base isolation on the IRE system displacement response spectrum and acceleration response spectrum, the compressive strength and the coefficient of friction experiments. Also the IRE system is evaluated by environment test according to KS standards. Both the resonance and seismic experiments using a combination of the IRE and Natural Rubber Bearing (NRB) are performed in order to analyze the seismic isolation of the IRE system dynamic characteristics. For the given load and exciting frequency, the resonant frequency becomes lower, but the resonant magnification remains to be same. However, it is shown that when we consider the IRE only, the vibration on the table with the horizontal movement and the independent horizontal displacement due to the rolling motion of the plate and roller are significantly reduced. This result verifies that the proposed optimal design method of the IRE system is very effective.

토크 측정을 이용한 차량 변속기용 비틀림 진동 절연 댐퍼 평가 (Evaluation of Torsional Vibration Isolation Damper in Automotive Transmissions Based on In-situ Torque Measurement)

  • This paper presents a proof-of-concept study on the evaluation of torsional vibration isolation performance through in-situ output torque measurement by using a non-contacting magneto-elastic torque transducer installed in the vehicle driveline system. The de-trending processing is first conducted to extract the torsional vibration from the measured driveline output torque. In order to estimate the transmissibility, primary performance indicator of a vibration isolator, the magnitude of transmitted torsional vibration with different frequencies is compared. From the conservative estimation results, the torsional damper built in a lock-up clutch of a torque converter is identified to be a vibration isolator. The evaluation results show that the fluid damping by torque converter outperforms the vibration isolation function of a torsional damper, and the isolation performance needs to be enhanced.

  • The isolation performance of a linear vibration isolator is limited to the ratio of stiffness to mass it supports. The stiffness of the isolator must be large enough to hold the weight. This results in the deterioration of the isolation performance. Recently, to overcome this fundamental limitation, the HSLDS(high-static-low-dynamic-stiffness) magnetic vibration isolator was introduced and its isolation characteristic was investigated theoretically. In this paper, the isolation performance of the HSLDS magnetic isolator is examined experimentally. Considerable amount of experiments are performed by carefully considering nonlinear characteristics. The experimental results verify the practical usability promisingly and agree with the theoretical studies, i.e. its performance is largely dependent on the key design parameter.

  • This research is concerned with the study of an active vibration absorber using piezoelectric actuators and Isolation pad. The active isolation system consists of 4-pairs of PZT actuators bonded on the surface of an aluminum plate and a passive damping material. The active system is connected to the passive system in series. The Signals of the accelerometers are fed into the PZT actuator through the controller. We proposed a new control technique which can deal with the shock as well as the base excitation in this study. The Positive Acceleration Feedback(PAE) tuned to the natural frequency of the vibration isolation system is used to suppress the vibrations caused by the shock using the top accelerometer signal. The Negative Acceleration Feedback (NAF) based on the base acceleration signal is used to counteract the base motion. Experimental results show that the proposed active vibration isolation system can suppress vibrations.
