경유의 윤활특성 (Lubricating Characteristics of Diesel Fuel)

  • The reduction of sulfur content in the diesel fuel has caused the poor lubricity of diesel fuel in the distributor type injection pumps of diesel engines that use the diesel for lubrication of their moving parts. To investigate the reason for poor lubricity of low sulfur diesel fuels, the wear scar diameters by HFRR (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig) were measured on the diesel fuels from Korean markets and the results were compared with their physical and chemical properties. Also, the lubricity change and the improvement effects on lubricity additives for the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel, were made experimentally, that will be regulated to a maximum of 0.005 wt% from about 2005 were evaluated. As a result, a good correlation was found between the wear scar diameter and the polyaromatic compound which includes heterocyclic compound in the diesel fuel. It was also found that the content of polyaromatic compound including heterocyclic compound was affected by the amount of desulfurization treatment fraction. And the lubricity additives with ester base were more effective than that with acid base on the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. Therefore, it is suggested that the factors affecting the lubricity stated above should be taken into account to improve the lubricity property of the diesel fuel in the refining process.

호기성 그래뉼 슬러지를 이용한 고농도 염분 함유 폐수의 생물학적 탈질 반응에 관한 연구 (Study on the Biological Denitrification Reaction of High-Salinity Wastewater using an Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS))

  • The purpose of this study is to biological treatment of high salinity wastewater using Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS). In laboratory scale's experiments research was performed using a sequencing batch reactor, and evaluation of the denitrification reaction in accordance with the injection condition of salinity concentration, surface properties of microorganisms, and sludge precipitability was performed. The results showed that the salinity concentration increased up to 1.5%, and there was no significant difference in the nitrogen removal efficiency; however, it showed a tendency to decrease gradually from 2.0% onward. The specific denitrification rate (SDNR) was 0.052 - 0.134 mg $NO_3{^-}-N/mg$ MLVSS (mixed liquor volatile suspended solid)${\cdot}day$. The MLVSS/MLSS (mixed liquor suspended solid) ratio decreased to 76.2%, and sludge volume index ($SVI_{30}$) was finally lowered to 57 mL/g. Using an optical microscope, it was also observed that the initial size of the sludge was 0.2 mm, and finally it was formed to 0.8-1.0 mm. Therefore, salinity injection provides favorable conditions for the formation of an AGS, and it was possible to maintain stable granular sludge during long-term operation of the biological treatment system.

High Level O2배가스중 NO 저감에 대한 선택적비촉매환원 반응특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristic of NO Reduction by High Level O2Gas in Selective Non-Catalystic Reaction)

  • Selective catalytic reduction and selective non-catalytic reduction processes are mainly used to treat nitrogen oxidants generated from fossil-fuel combustion. Especially, the selective non-catalytic reduction process can be operated more economical and designed more simply than the selective catalytic reduction. For this reason, many researchers carried out to increase the removal efficiency of nitrogen oxidants in the condition of low oxygen concentration by using the selective non-catalytic reduction process. However, this study was flue gas contained high oxygen concentration of 20(v/v%) with ammonia as a reducing agent. Moreover, it carried out experiment with many factors that are reaction temperature, retention time, initial NO concentration, NSR(normalized stoichiometric ratio). It was determined optimal operating conditions to improve NO removal efficiency with SNCR process. The De-NOx efficiency was increased with NSR, initial NO concentration and retention time increasement. This study has NO removal efficiency over 80% in the high oxygen concentration as well as low oxygen concentration. The injection of reducing agent may be considered for SNCR process and facility operation in 850$\^{C}$ of optimal condition.

디젤엔진에 있어서 흡기 중에 SO2혼입이 연소 및 배기배출물 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of SO2 Mixture in Inlet Air on Combustion and Exhaust Emission Characteristic in diesel engine)

  • Marine diesel engines with high thermal efficiency and fuel diversity used for propulsive power have been taking charge of important position on marine transport. However, marine environment has recently focused on emissions such as nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide which is generated from combustion of low grade fuels. EGR(Exhaust gas recirculation) system is one of effective methods to reduce the nitrogen oxide emission from marine diesel engines. In general, it is considered that recirculating gas influences fuel combustion and emissions in diesel engines. However, along with positive effects of EGR, the EGR system using fuels of including high sulfur concentration should be considered about re-combustion and activation of sulfur dioxide in recirculating gas. Therefore, in experimental study, an author investigates effects of sulfur dioxide mixture concentration in intake air on combustion and exhaust emission characteristics in a direct injection diesel engine. In results, change of sulfur dioxide concentrations in intake air had negligible impact on combustion chamber pressure, rate of heat release and emissions compared with effects of oxygen decreasing and carbon dioxide increasing of EGR.

알루미늄 연속주조 용탕의 탈 가스 일체화 장치 개발 (An Implementation of an Integrated Degasing System for Aluminum Molten Metal in Continuous Casting)

  • There are some methods that have been used to manage a degasing process in recent years, such as an injection method that uses aluminum molten metal powder and chemicals supplier and input method that supplies argon and nitrogen, or chlorine gas by using a gas blow-tube. However, these methods show some problems, and it shows that it is a difficult process to handle, pollution due to producing a lot of toxic gases like chlorine and fluoride gas, irregular effects, and lowering work efficiency due to the excessive processing time. The problems that are the most fatal are the producing a lot of sludge due to the reaction of aluminum molten metal with chemicals, loss of metals, and decreasing the life of refractory materials. In order to solve these problems, this paper develops a technology that is related to aluminum continuous casting molten metal and monolithic degasing apparatus. A degasing apparatus developed in this study improved the existing methods and prevented environmental pollution with smokeless, odorless, and harmlessness by using a new method that applies argon and nitrogen gas in which the methods used in the West and Japan are eliminated. The method developed in this study decreases the molten metal processing and settling time compared to the existing methods and improves the workers' health, safety, and environment because there is no pollution in processes.

Interfacial Electronic Structure of Bathocuproine and Al: Theoretical Study and Photoemission Spectroscopy

  • Interfacial electronic structure of bathocuproine and Al was investigated using in-situ photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Bathocuproine is used for exciton blocking and electron transport material in organic photovoltaics and Al is typical cathode material. When thin thickness of Al was thermally evaporated on BCP, gap states were observed by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy. The closest gap state yielded below 0.3 eV from Fermi level. By x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, interaction of Al with nitrogen of BCP was observed. To understand the origin of gap states, DFT calculation was carried out and gap states was verified with successive calculation of interaction of Al and nitrogen of BCP. Furthermore, emergency of another state above Fermi level was observed. Remarkable reduction of electron injection barrier between Al and BCP, therefore, is possible.

가교도를 가진 1-Aza-15-Crown-5-스틸렌-디비닐벤젠 수지 합성 (Resin Synthesis of 1-Aza-15-Crown-5-Styrene-divinylbenzene with Crosslink)

  • 질소 주입하에 스틸렌과 디비닐벤젠의 양을 조절하면서 1%, 2% 및 5%의 가교도를 가진 공중합체를 합성하고 여기에 염화아연을 첨가하였다. 벤젠을 넣고 팽윤 시킨 다음 톨루엔 용매에서 요드화 칼륨과 21.93g의 1-aza-15-crown-5를 가하고 $55^{\circ}C$로 30시간 교반 환류하여 중감속 이온을 흡착 할 수 있는 기능성 수지를 합성하였다. 이들 수지는 가교도가 증가할수록 디비닐벤젠 함량이 증가하여 다공도가 작아져서 염소의 함량이 감소되고 이것이 치환 과정에서 거대고리 리간드에 영향을 주어 질소의 함량도 감소되었다. 그리고 기능성 합성수지의 형태는 수소와 염소 원자의 치환 반응으로 찌그러짐을 볼 수 있었다.

극저온 제트 유동에 대한 분사기 형상의 영향 (Effect of Injector Geometry on Cryogenic Jet Flow)

  • 액체 질소를 이용하여 극저온 단일 제트 유동의 특성을 관찰하였다. 고압 챔버 내부에 액체 질소를 분사하여 단일 제트를 생성, 주위기체압력을 변화시킴으로써 아임계 조건부터 초임계 조건의 주위 환경에 따른 제트의 특성 변화를 확인하였다. 또한 분사기의 길이 대 직경비 및 분사기 내부 형상의 변화에 따른 제트의 특성 변화를 파악하였다. 유동 가시화를 통하여 극저온 제트의 형상 및 액주의 지름을 측정하였으며, 이로부터 액주의 확산각을 계산하여 이전 연구 결과와 비교하였다. 아임계 조건 및 초임계 조건에서의 제트의 형상 변화를 관찰하였으며, 주위기체압력이 대기압과 동일할 경우 제트 유동에서 불안정이 발생함을 확인하였다. 또한 주위기체압력이 증가함에 따라 액주의 확산각이 점차 증가하다가 일정 압력 이상에서 거의 일정하게 유지됨을 확인하였다.

Vitamin $B_2$ 결핍이 Streptozotocin 유발 당뇨 흰쥐의 에너지대사에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Vitamin $B_2$ Deficiency on Fuel Metabolism in Streptozotocin Induced Diabetic Rats)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of vitamin B2 deficiency on fuel metabolism in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Thirty rats were fed a vitamin B2 deticient diet(-B2) or a control diet (+B2) for 2 weeks and then subdivided into 3 groups respectively : base group, one day diabetic group and three day diabetic group. Diabetes of the rats were induced by streptozotocin injection into the tail vein. Glucose, glycogen, protein, alanine, triglyceride and free fatty acid were compared in plasma, liver, skeletal muscle of rats. Also, the total urinary nitrogen and glucose excertion were compared. Compared with +B2 rats, the increase of plasm glucose in -B2 rats due to the diabetes tended to be smaller. After diabetes were induced, the levels of plasma protein and alanine was significantly decreased and the urinary nitrogen excretion was significantly increased in -B2 rats. The level of plasma free fatty acid was increased continuously in B2 rats while increased at the first day and decreased at the third day diabetes was induced in +B2 rats. These results suggest that vitamin B2 deficiency increase protein catabolism due to the decrease of fatty acid oxidation. Thus, vitamin B2 deficiency in diabetes impair the adaptation of animals to the fuel metabolism and aggravate the body protein wasting which is one of the chronic complications of diabetes.

흡입공기온도의 변화에 따른 제어자발화 가솔린기관의 성능 및 배기 특성 (Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Controlled Auto-Ignition Gasoline Engine according to Variation of the Inlet-Air Temperature)

  • This work treats a controlled auto-ignition (CAI) single cylinder gasoline engine, focusing on the extension of operating conditions. The fuel was injected indirectly into electrically heated inlet air flow. In order to keep a homogeneous air-fuel mixing, the fuel injector was water-cooled by a specially designed coolant passage. The engine performance and emission characteristics were investigated under the wide range of operating conditions such as 40 in the air-fuel ratio, 1000 to 1800 rpm in the engine speed, 150 to $180^{\circ}C$ in the inlet-air temperature, and $60^{\circ}$ BTDC in the injection timing. The ultra lean-burn with self-ignition of gasoline fuel by heating inlet air was achieved in a controlled auto-ignition gasoline engine. It could be also achieved that the emission concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide significantly reduced by CAI combustion compared with conventional spark ignition engines.
