광합성 박테리아 및 담체를 이용한 하천의 저농도 질소, 인 처리 시스템 개발 (The Development of Treatment System for Removing the Low Concentrated Nitrogen and Phosphorus Using Phototrophic Bacteria and Media)

  • 저농도 유기물, 질소, 인 제거를 위하여 독립영양 미생물인 광합성 박테리아를 이용한 회분식 실험 결과 초기값 $COD_{Cr}$ 37.3 mg/L, $NH_3$-N 4.0 mg/L, $PO_4^{3-}$-P 1.0 mg/L (C:N:P=100:10:1) 일 때 각각 87.4%, 46.3%, 79.7% 제거효율을 보였다. 혼합 광합성 박테리아, 세라믹 담체 및 담체 KSP01을 적용한 폭기식 반응기 실험 결과, 평균 유기물 72.7%, 암모니아성 질소 79.2%를 제거하였으며, pH 조절로 인산염 인을 최대 92.6%까지 제거할 수 있었다. 반응기 내 다양한 폭기 조건에서 암모니아성질소 제거를 확인한 결과, 1, 2 반응조에 10.2 L/min로 공기를 주입하였을 때 98.5%로 높은 제거효율을 보여주었다. 또한 하천수 적용시 암모니아성 질소 82.8%의 높은 제거효율을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 정화 시스템의 현장 적용시 저농도 질소, 인의 높은 제거를 보일 것으로 사료된다.

변형 연속회분식 반응기를 이용한 오수의 고도처리 (Advanced Sewage Treatment by the Modified SBR(Sequencing Batch Reactor) Process)

  • This study was performed to treat a sewage at the upper stream of dam using modified sequencing batch reactor, During the operating period, average $COD_{cr}$, removal efficiency was about 85% but average T-N and ${PO_4}^{3-}-P$ removal efficiencies were 43% and 30% respectively. Because the organic matter was very low compared with nitrogen and phosphorous in influent($BOD_{5}/{NH_4}^{+}-N{\;}={\;}2,{\;}BOD_{5}/{PO_4}^{3-}-P{\;}={\;}15.6$), nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency was relatively low. Average nitrogen removal efficiency was 50 % at $10^{\circ}C$ or above and it was 36 % at $10^{\circ}C$ or below. As reactor was located in outdoor without any thermostat, temperature decreased at least $2.4^{\circ}C$ in the winter season. Therefore, if we would apply this modified sequencing batch reactor to sewage which concentration of organic matter was very low compared with nitrogen and phosphorous, we have to addition of external carbon and installation of any thermostat.

물 부족국가에서 활용가능한 정화조의 최적모형 개발 (Development of Optimal Septic Tank in the Countries of Water Shortages)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the performance of a lab-scale novel septic tank system for improving the conventional septic tank in the developing countries of water shortages. The lab-scale novel septic tank system consists of sepetic tank, aeration tank with HBC-ring, and sand filter. Optimum HRT was reguired about 1.5days to get a total COD removal efficiency of 90%, COD, BOD and SS removal efficiency was about 70%, 60%, and 85% in sepetic tank only. The structure of sepetic tank with two stages results in the high removal efficiency of organic matter. When sepetic tank, aeration tank, and sand filter were more than HRT 1.5days, 18hrs, and 12hrs, respectively, final effluent was less than 20 mg/L of BOD, 14 mg/L of SS, so that there is a high potential of its use for reusing water in flush toilet. There is no significant effect of HRT change on nutrient removal. Total nitrogen removal efficiency was about 40%, final effluent was 30~40 mg/L of TN, total phosphorus removal efficiency was about 11~25%, final effluent was 9~12 mg/L of TP. Because there is very small amounts of organic nitrogen and phosphorus in effluent, it was possible to reuse water for agricultural use.

점감포기에 의한 바실러스 특성을 이용한 폐수의 유기물질 및 질소, 인 처리에 관한 연구 (Removal of organic Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Wastewater based on tapered Aeration with Bacillus sp.)

  • 본 연구는 하 폐수 중의 유기물뿐만 아니라 질소, 인을 생물학적으로 제거하기 위하여 Bacillus sp. 미생물을 사용하였다. Bacillus sp. 미생물이 생존하기에 알맞지 않은 상황에서는 포자를 형성하고, 증식과 포자화를 반복하면서 우점화되는 특성을 발현시키기 위해 점감포기를 실시하였다. 반응기 용존산소 농도는 포기조 1단; $1.2{\sim}l.5mg/L$, 포기조 2단; $0.3{\sim}$0.5mg/L, 포기조 3단 ; 0.2mg/L이하로 유지하였다. 또한 공정내 미생물의 유실을 방지하고 미생물이 고농도 상태로 유지 가능한 부착성장의 한 공법인 RBC에 끈상 나선형 미생물 접촉재를 설치한 반응기를 이용하였다. 식종한 Bacillus sp.가 적응하는 기간에서의 유입유량은 173 L/d, 내부반송율 200%, 슬러지반송율 100%로 운전을 하였으며, 방류수질을 기준으로 단계적으로 유입유량을 증가시켰다. 정상상태에서 유입유량은 346 L/d이고, 내부반송율과 슬러지 반송율은 각각 50%로 결정하여 실험을 수행하였고, 원수는 Glucose 1,800 mg/L. $NH_4Cl\;500mg/L,\;KH_2PO_4\;5mg/L$를 혼합한 인공폐수를 제조하여 공정에 주입하였고, 그 결과 각각 미생물이 폐수에 적응하는 단계인 Period 1에서는 각 수질 분석 항목의 농도가 점차적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였으며. 정상상태라고 판단한 Period 2에서는 최종적으로 유입수에 대한 유출수의 제거율은 각각 TCODCr 94%. BOD 87%, T-N 85%, T-P 89%의 결과를 나타내었다.

유입수를 탄소원으로 이용한 CNR공법의 질소, 인의 제거특성 (The Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal of Municipal Wastewater with CNR Process using Influent as a Carbon Source)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate on the removal effect of total nitrogen and posphorus in municipal wastewater by decreasing hydraulic retention time(HRT) from 6 hour to 4 hour on CNR process using influent as a Carbon Source. CNR(Cilium Nutrient Romoval) is the process combining $A^2$/O process with cilium media of H2L corporation. The removal efficiencies for BOD$_{5}$, T-N and T-P were 81.1%, 61.4%, 61.4%, respectively. The removal efficiency of nitrogen and posphorus were low by decreasing hydraulic retention time(HRT) from 6 hour to 4 hour on CNR process.s.

혼합 산업폐수의 질소제거를 위한 외부 탄소원 투입과 물질수지: 실증실험 (Nitrogen Removal from a mixed Industrial Wastewater using Food-Waste Leachate and Sugar Liquid Waste as External Carbon Sources: Full-Scale Experiment)

  • The feasibility of enhancing biological nutrient removal from an industrial wastewater was tested with food waste leachate and sugar liquid waste as external carbon sources. Long term influences of adding external carbon sources were investigated to see how the biological nutrient removal process worked in terms of the removal efficiency. The addition of the external carbons led to a significant improvement in the removal efficiency of nutrients: from 49% to approximately 76% for nitrogen and from 64% to around 80% for phosphorus. Approximately, 20% of the removal nitrogen was synthesized into biomass, while the remaining 80% was denitrified. Though the addition of external carbon sources improved nutrient removal, it also increased the waste sludge production substantially. The optimal observed BOD/TN ratio, based on nitrogen removal and sludge production, was around 4.0 in this study.

  • The treatment performances of anaerobic-aerobic activated sludge process were investigated under various operation conditions. The treatment system proposed in this study gave a relatively stable performance against hourly change of the flow rate and showed a satisfactory removal of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds under experimental conditions. The recycle ratio of mixed liquor from aerobic to anaerobic region and peak coefficient primarily controlled the extent of nitrogen removal. The recycle ratio had the optimum values which were determined by the microbial activities of nitrification and denitrification. The behavior of the treatment unit could be simulated by using the kinetic equations and reactor models which considered the treatment units as complete mixing tanks.
