우사의 깔짚과 퇴비에 있는 질소와 인의 형태적 변화와 저감 방안에 관한 연구 (Study on the Morphological Change and Reduction Plan of Nitrogen and Phosphorous in Litter and Manure of Cow House)

  • 안동에 있는 한 가축 농가의 우사에서 깔짚과 퇴비를 채취하였다. 이들 시료로부터 질소(N)와 인(P)의 성상의 변화를 조사하고 이들을 유용하고 현실적으로 제거할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 시료의 조성 및 그 함량은 X-선 형광 분석기(XRF)로 확인하였다. 시료에서 용출되어 나오는 아질산성질소(NO2-), 질산성 질소(NO3-), 인산이온(PO43-)들은 이온 크로마토그래프로, 암모니아성 질소(NH4+), 총인(T-P), 총질소(T-N)는 자외선/가시광선 분광기를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구의 결과로서, 소의 배설물 초기 상태에 있는 암모니아성 질소는 pH를 상승시켜 바로 휘발시킬 수 있는 암모니아 가스 상태로 만들 필요성이 있다. 녹조류 증식의 주요 영양원인 질소와 인은 퇴비의 발효를 촉진시킨 후 칼슘(Ca)과 마그네슘(Mg)을 첨가하여 인은 인산칼슘(CaHPO4·3H2O), 질소는 스투루바이트(NH4MgPO4·6H2O) 형태의 난용성염을 생성 시킴으로서 제거 할 수 있다.

꽃사슴에 있어서 육림부산물 발효사료의 체내이용성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Internal Availability of Forest by-product Silage in Spotted deer (Cervus nippon))

  • 육림지에서 생산되는 육림부산물 전체 혼합 물과 개별 수엽류의 사슴용 사료화 가능성을 검토하기 위해 육림부산물 혼합 사일리지, 칡사일리지, 졸참나무 사일리지 및 갈참나무 사일리지를 급여한 꽃사슴에 있어서 건물 채식량, 영양소 소화율 및 질소출납을 비교하였다. 건물섭취량은 WOS가 가장 높았고 ARS가 가장 낮았으나, 그 차이에 대한 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 가소화 건물섭취량의 경우는 건물 소화율이 높았던 FBS와 ARS가 건물소화율이 낮은 BOS와 WOS에 비해 높은 경향을 나타냈다(p>0.05). 건물소화율은 ARS가 가장 높았고 BOS가 가장 낮았으며(P<0.05), 조단백질 소화율도 건물소화율과 동일한 결과를 나타냈다. 조섬유 소화율은 FBS와 ARS가 BOS와 WOS에 비해 높았다(P>0.05). 실험사료별 일당증체량은 WOS가 나머지 세 처리구에 비해 약간 많았으나 모든 처리구가 거의 비슷한 수준을 유지하였다(P>0.05). 질소섭취량은 ARS가 가장 많았고 BOS가 가장 낮았으며(P<0.05), 분 중 질소의 배출량은 질소섭취량과는 반대로 BOS가 가장 많았고 ARS가 가장 적었다(P<0.05). 뇨 중질소의 배출량은 질소섭취량이 많았던 ARS가 가장 높았고 BOS가 가장 낮아 처리간에 유의성(P<0.05)이 인정되었다. 체내 축적된 질소의 양은 FBS가 많았고 BOS가 가장 적었다(P>0.05). 질소섭취량에 대한 체내 축적질소량의 비율은 처리간에 유의적 차이가 인정되지는 않았으나 FBS가 43.9%로 이용효율이 가장 높았고 BOS는 24.7%로 이용효율이 가장 낮았다. 이상에서 육림지에서 배출되는 부산물들은 높은 채식성과 체내이용성을 나타내어 사슴용 사료자원으로서 충분한 가치가 인정된다고 평가되었다.

EFFECTS OF DIETARY SILICIC ACID AND CADMIUM ON SHORT-TERM MINERAL BALANCES IN SHEEP

  • Previous experiments have shown that aqueous sodium silicate ingested in drinking water may modify the gastrointestinal uptake and(or) tissue retention of certain trace elements, including heavy metals. The present experiment tested, with a mineral balance trial using sheep, the hypothesis that dietary silicic acid could modify uptake, retention and(or) biological effects of dietary Cd. Twenty-four wethers were fed a fibrous diet of ground alfalfa hay and cottonseed hulls to which either 0 or 150 ppm Cd was added as $CdCl_2$ and 0, .5 or 1% silicic acid (as dry matter of the diet). Body weight, feed intake, excretion of urine (volume) and feces (weight), digestibility of dry and organic matter, retention of nitrogen, and packed cell volumes of blood were not affected by either Cd or silicic acid (P<.10). Cadmium decreased (P<.05) Ca retention and increased (P<.01) Mg retention. Silicic acid decreased (P<.05) K retention. Silicic acid failed (P<.01) to modify the retention of added dietary Cd. Body retention of K, Mn and Ni in response to silicic acid varied with Cd levels. If Cd is interfering with mineral retention, silicic acid may be effective in preventing this interference.

The Effects of Green Tea Tannin in Rats with Renal Failure Induced by Arginine Diet

  • In order to determine whether green tea tannin ameliorates abnormal arginine metabolism as the result of excessive arginine, we have assessed the effects of the administration of green tea tannin mixture in rats treated 30 days with 2% arginine. In the arginine-treated group, the level of guanidino compounds such as arginine (Arg), guanidinoacetic acid (GAA), creatinine (Cr), methylguanidine (MG) and guanidinosuccinic acid (GSA), nitric oxide, urea, protein and glucose increased significantly in the serum, urine and kidney, whereas the oxygen species-scavenging enzymes of kidney were reduced as compared with the non-arginine-treated group. By way of contrast, the administration of green tea tannin reduced blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine, and reduced the urinary excretion of guanidinoacetic acid, creatinine, and $NO_2^-+NO_3^-$. The increased levels of urinary urea, protein and glucose in the arginine-treated group were also lowered by the administration of green tea tannin. In these groups, the activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase in the kidney were increased, thereby suggesting the involvement of radicals in the normalizing of kidney function. These results show that the abnormal renal function induced by the adminstration of excessive arginine in rats may be restored by treatment with green tea tannin.

만성신부전으로 의심되는 환자에서 주증에 따른 한의학적 변증치료의 예(例) (The Cases of Oriental diagnosis and treatment at the patients considering of the Chronic renal failure)

  • Renal Failure is called a disorder of kidney excretion induced by glomerulus filtration rate(GFR) decrease. GFR is measured by Blood Urea Nitrogen(BUN) and Cretinine in blood. This study is about Oriental diagnosis and treatment of Chronic renal failure(CRF) patients. We treated five cases which were diagnosed as CRF by using methods used in oriental medicine, the application of Youkmijihwang-tang(六味地黃湯加減). In most such cases, we concluded that the results turns better as the symptoms like fatigue and digestive disorder decreases and the decrease of BUN and Creatinine in blood as well.

사료중 크릴 밀이 브로일러 병아리의 생산성과 단백질 및 에너지 이용성에 미치는 영향

  • 사료 중 크릴밀이 브로일러의 생산성과 단백질 및 에너지 이용성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 0일령 병아리(Avian종)에 기초사료와 기초사료중 대두박을 대치한 크릴밀 사료를 3주간 급여하여 2주째에 2일에 한번씩 LPS로 면역 자극하였다. 병아리의 일당 증체와 사료섭취량은 크릴사료의 영향은 없었으나 면역스트레스시 유의하게(p〈0.05) 낮아졌다. 간장과 비장무게는 면역스트레스시 급여사료 중 크릴 함량에 관계없이 유의하게 높았다. 질소밸런스는 면역스트레스시 유의하게 낮았으나 사료 중 크릴함량의 영향은 관찰되지 않았다. 사료 g당 대사에너지값은 면역스트레스시 높아지는 경향이 있었으나 면역스트레스가 없으면 낮아지는 경향이 있었다. 뇨산배설량은 면역스트레스시 크릴사료를 급여하면 높아지는 경향이 있었다.

Hypolipidemic Activities of Dietary Pleurotus ostreatus in Hypercholesterolemic Rats

  • This work was conducted to investigate dietary supplementation of oyster mushroom fruiting bodies on biochemical and histological changes in hyper and normocholesterolemic rats. Six-week old female Sprague-Dawley albino rats were divided into three groups of 10 rats each. Feeding a diet containing a 5% powder of Pleurotus ostreatus fruiting bodies to hypercholesterolemic rats reduced plasma total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), total lipid, phospholipids, and LDL/high-density lipoprotein ratio by 30.18, 52.75, 59.62, 34.15, 23.89, and 50%, respectively. Feeding oyster mushrooms also significantly reduced body weight in hypercholesterolemic rats. However, it had no adverse effects on plasma albumin, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, creatinin, blood urea nitrogen, uric acid, glucose, total protein, calcium, sodium, potassium, chloride, inorganic phosphate, magnesium, or enzyme profiles. Feeding mushroom increased total lipid and cholesterol excretion in feces. The plasma lipoprotein fraction, separated by agarose gel electrophoresis, indicated that P. ostreatus significantly reduced plasma ${\beta}$ and pre-${\beta}$-lipoprotein but increased ${\alpha}$-lipoprotein. A histological study of hepatic cells by conventional hematoxylin-eosin and oil red O staining revealed normal findings for mushroom-fed hypercholesterolemic rats. These results suggest that a 5% P. ostreatus diet supplement provided health benefits by acting on the atherogenic lipid profile in hypercholesterolemic rats.

만성신부전 환자에게 한약투여 후 사구체여과율 및 빈혈 호전 1례 (A Case Report of Improvement of Glomerular Filtration Rate and Anemia in Chronic Renal Failure through Herbal Medication)

  • Renal failure means irreversible damage and depression of renal function, represented by glomerular filtration rate(GFR). A renal failure patient with uremia and anemia is presented. Anemia, in this patient, appeared before uremia did. A 55 year-old male patient was treated for renal failure with Weilingtang. Improvement was observed in, not only GFR, blood urea nitrogen(BUN), and creatinine, but also in such symptoms as difficulty in urine excretion, dyspepsia and abdominal swelling. But anemia appeared during treatment, so a mixture of Dangguibuxuetang(當歸補血湯) and Xiongguitang(芎歸湯) was prescribed. After this treatment, improvement in hemoglobin, and hematocrit was observed.

식이내 Cadmium과 단백질 수준이 흰쥐의 체내 단백질 대사 및 Cadmium 중독에 미치는 영향 (Effects of dietary Cadmium and Protein Levels on the Body Protein Metabolism and Cadmium Toxicity in Growing Rats)

  • This study were performed to investigate effect of dietary cadmium(Cd) and protein levels on growth, body protein metabolism and Cd toxicity in growing rats. Forty eight male rats of Sprague-Dawley weighing 113$\pm$2g were blocked into 6 groups accoridng to body weight. Dietary protein were given at the levels of 7, 15 and 40% of diet and Cd (200ppm)were either added or not. The result obtained were summerized as follow; 1) Food intake, weight gain, FER PER, liver and kidney weight, weight and length of bones, hematocrit, and hemoglobin content in Cd-added groups were low than those in Cd-free groups. 2) Serum total protein showed no significant difference with Cd addition, but it was significantly lower in low protein diet groups. Liver protein in Cd-added groups was lower than Cd-free groups, and was tend to be increased with increasing dietary protein level. 3) Daily urinary and fecal nitrogen excretions in Cd-added groups were lower than Cd-free groups, and were increased with increasing dietary protein level. 4) Cadmium contents in blood, liver, kidney, and femur were tend to be decreased with increasing dietary protein level. Especially, Cd content in kidney of Cd-added groups was significantly decreased with increasing dietary protein level. 5) Daily urinary and fecal Cd excretions were tend to be increased with increasing dietary protein level, and Cd-added-high protein diet group showed the highest Cd excretion among the Cd-added groups, Cd absorption ration and Cd retention ratio were tend to be decreased with increasing dietary protein level.

The Role of Synthetic Amino Acids in Monogastric Animal Production - Review -

  • The present paper gives a general overview on amino acid nutrition mainly focused on the concept of ideal protein and amino acid requirements in swine and poultry. Also, the nutritional, economic and environmental roles of synthetic amino acids are presented. A special emphasis has been given to the protein sparing effect by the supplementation of synthetic amino acids into diet and to the effect of this supplementation on growth performance and reduction of environmental pollutants in swine and poultry manure. It is concluded that the supplementation of limited amounts of synthetic amino acids (0.1 to 0.3%) to diets for swine and poultry could spare 2 to 3 percentage units of dietary protein and substantially reduce nutrient excretion, especially nitrogen. Immunocompetency as affected by amino acid nutrition is also introduced and the importance of threonine for the synthesis of immunoproteins in colostrum and milk to maintain piglets' health and intestinal integrity has been emphasized. Finally, some speculation on the future of global amino acids market is presented in conclusion.
