Web offset newspaper prints is the most widely used printing process in domestic printing industry, but there are no industry-wide specifications for press control to assure consistent quality across newspaper printing plants. As newspaper printing becomes more of a commodity and less of an art, it is necessary to develop the print quality specification standard suitable for Korea web offset newspaper printing field. There are a few commonly employed printing standards such as, SNAP (Specification for Non-Heatset Publication) of the US, IFRA(INCA-FIEJ Research Association), J-color (Japan printing machinery association). And there exists KS for domestic standards, however, since it has been directly imported from ISO standards, there are discrepancies in printing materials and media. This paper aims to examine the color reproduction quality of domestic web offset newspaper prints by comparing with foreign standards. Printing experiments on this study have been performed at one of the domestic newspaper printing companies. The color reproduction properties of the web offset newspaper prints are measured by means of densitometry and colorimetry. These measures are evaluated comapratively with the international standards by means of analyzing, the major factors that determine the color reproduction quality of web offset newspaper prints.

신문왕국이라 불리는 일본 신문 역시 발행부수, 매출액, 광고수익 등에서 위기를 맞고 있다. 이에 일본의 주요 전국지 경영진들은 현재 일본 신문이 직면한 위기의 원인을 어떻게 진단하고 있고, 나아가 위기를 극복하기 위해 어떠한 대응전략을 펴고 있는지를 심층인터뷰와 2차 자료를 통해 살펴보았다. 일본 주요 신문사의 경영진들은 위기 원인을 주로 매체환경 변화에 따른 젊은 독자의 감소와 같은 외적 요인에서 찾고 있었다. 또한 광고매체로서 신문의 매력도 감소나 제작유통비용 상승과 같은 신문산업의 구조적 요인을 문제로 꼽았다. 위기에 대처하기 위한 대응으로는 젊은 독자에게 어필할 수 있도록 신문의 지면 강화, 온라인-오프라인 패키지 광고와 고객맞춤형 광고 시도, 온라인, 모바일 영역으로의 뉴스유통 확대, 부동산 사업 등 다각화를 통한 재정 안정성 확보, 브랜드 가치를 높이기 위한 각종 사업, 신문사간 공동 뉴스사이트 운영, 공동인쇄와 배달 등 다양한 협업을 시도하고 있다. 본 논문은 일본 신문사 경영진들의 위기인식에서부터 극복을 위한 다양한 대응전략을 통해 국내 신문기업들이 공유할만한 정보와 전략들을 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

이 연구는 인쇄신문시장의 성장 지체 속에서 상위 지배기업들의 대표적인 발행부수 확보 경쟁인 무가지와 경품의 지속 원리가 무엇인지 분석하고 있다. 과열 경품 경쟁은 불공정거래라는 비판과 신문판매고시 위반으로 과징금 부과 등의 규제가 따르고 있다. 개별 기업에게도 고비용 경쟁의 부담이 지속되는 가운데 결과에서 얻는 이익이 크지 않다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 과열 경품 경쟁은 상대방과 합의할 수 없는 경쟁의 상황에서 선택할 수밖에 없는 우월 전략이자 합리적 선택에 해당한다. 지배기업이 경품 지속의 주도성을 확보하고 있으나 경품 경쟁은 다자간의 동의 속에서 유지된다. 경품 경제의 메커니즘 내에는 경품의 채택이 지국과 독자, 포괄적으로 광고주 역시 경제적 원리에 따라 유인이 높은 선택 대안이고, 동의하게 되는 이유가 있다. 이러한 경품 지속의 원리와 구조에 대한 분석을 통해 규범적 비판에 대한 논리적 근거로서 경제적 원리와 합리성을 보완해 보고자 하였다. 과열 경품 경쟁의 해법을 위해 이와 관련된 행위자들의 과제가 무엇인지 살펴보기 위한 사전 작업에 해당할 것이다.

The increasing use of newsprints in the media and an advertisement have brought the needs to improve the printing quality of the advance full-color newspaper. The printability coefficients used in this research such as Ymax for the density and Tollenaar's density smoothness constant value $\ulcorner$m$\lrcorner$ were introduced early in Europe and have been in use to control printing quality. In order to improve printing quality of domestic full-color newsprints, those printability coefficients could be used to control printing quality. This study was carried out to measure the printability coefficients of domestic full-color newspapers. Four kinds of domestic newspapers and two kinds of newspaper printing inks were tested by IGT printability tester. The printed density smoothness coefficient $\ulcorner$m$\lrcorner$ value showed good results when the samples have low porosity and roughness. The printability coefficients obtained are expected to be useful to the korean newspaper printing industry.

본 연구는 신문 시소러스의 평가에 관한 연구의 일환으로서, 신문기사 종합시소러스의 경제.산업분야를 대상으로 시소러스의 표현력과 포괄성을 평가하였다. 평가는 시소러스를 사용하여 신문기사에 대해서 색인작업을 하고, 신문기사와 용어사전에서 수집한 신문용어를 시소러스와 대조하는 두가지의 방법으로 하였다. 평가를 통하여, 신문 시소러스의 구축과 이용에 있어서 중요한 문제로 주제개념의 특정성, 복합어의 분리, 디스크립터와 도입어간의 우선관계, 고유명사의 수록방법 그리고 주제분야간의 용어배분 문제가 고찰되었다.
