  • This study is focused on modeling to predict the behavior of two-way RC slabs. A new finite element model will be presented to analyze the nonlinear behavior of RC slabs. The numerical approach is based on the p-version degenerate shell element including theory of anisotropic laminated composites, theory of materially and geometrically nonlinear plates. In the nonlinear formulation of this model, the total Lagrangian formulation is adopted with large deflections and moderate rotations being accounted for in the sense of von Karman hypothesis. The material model is based on the Kuper's yield criterion, hardening rule, and crushing condition. The validity of the proposed p-version nonlinear RC finite element model is demonstrated through the load-deflection curves and the ultimate loads. It is shown that the proposed model is able to adequately predict the deflection and ultimate load of two-way slabs with respect to steel arrangements and steel ratios.

  • In rapidly changing an information=oriented society, it is essential to control massive document information by electronic file. In relation to these electronic document, it is also important to keep and maintain all kinds of information without any losses. It should be allowed to trace previous contents as well as recently updated contents by controlling updated contents with version. For these, XML is recommendable. In this thesis, we intend to save the document storing space by saving only updated contents with version without saving whole documentation, when document is updated. In case of controlling the history of document update by version, we designed system so as to omit "JOIN operation" if document size is under a certainspecific size. Therefore, we implemented a new XML document repository system which is possible for quick search and efficient XML document saving by reducing perfomance deterioration caused by JOIN operation.

  • This thesis presents a new analysis method of Vegas network model in single link single source and a new version of Vegas for expanding asymptotically stable region. Actually since original Vegas model is difficult to analysis, we use a modified Vegas network model. Since there is a few tools to analyze nonlinear system with delay, developing other methods is very important and useful. We used state space model in discrete time. Using by Jury's criterion, we could find asymptotically stable region of Vegas network model. And it was a if and only if condition. Moreover, we proposed a new version of Vegas algorithm. To expand asymptotically stable region we modified the original Vegas model. The new analysis method and new Vegas algorithm were justified by ns-2 simulation. And as compare with other result, we could know our method has many advantages.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a new version of Spirituality Assessment Scale (N-SAS) and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: The total of 59 preliminary items for the N-SAS were selected through a literature review, two rounds of experts' content validation, cognitive interviews, and pre-tests. Verification of its reliability and validity was divided into two phases. In Phase I, questionnaires were collected from 219 adults. Reliability was tested using Cronbach's alpha, validity with item analysis, and exploratory factor analysis. In Phase II, questionnaires developed based on the results of Phase I were collected from 225 adults. Reliability was tested using Cronbach's alpha, validity with confirmatory factor analysis, and criterion validity. Results: The final version of the N-SAS comprised two dimensions (vertical and horizontal), four domains (relationship with God; meaning of life and self-integration; self-transcendence; and relationship with others, neighborhoods, and nature), and 44 items were identified. Total Cronbach's α was .97; those of each subscale ranged from .79 to .98. N-SAS scores were positively correlated with the scores of Howden's Spiritual Assessment Scale (r=.81, p<.001). Conclusion: Findings suggest that the N-SAS can be used to measure spirituality in adults. The use of N-SAS is expected to facilitate perceiving patient's spiritual needs and providing spiritual care.

  • After figuring out the function of an amino acid sequence, we can infer the function of the other amino acids that have similar sequence composition. Besides, it is possible that we alter protein whose function we know, into useful protein using genetic engineering method. In this process. an original protein amino sequence produces various protein sequences that have different sequence composition. Here, a systematic technique is needed to manage protein version sequences and reference data of those sequences. Thus, in this paper we proposed a technique of managing protein version sequences based on local sequence alignment and a technique of managing protein historical reference data using Trigger This method automatically determines the similarity between an original sequence and each version sequence while the protein version sequences are stored into database. When this technique is employed, the storage space that stores protein sequences is also reduced. After storing the historical information of protein and analyzing the change of protein sequence, we expect that a new useful protein and drug are able to be discovered based on analysis of version sequence.

  • We analyze the error in the p version of the of the finite element method when the effect of the quadrature error is taken in the load vector. We briefly study some results on the $H^{1}$ norm error and present some new results for the error in the $L^{2}$ norm. We inves-tigate the quadrature error due to the numerical integration of the right hand side We present theoretical and computational examples showing the sharpness of our results.

  • The second edition of the International Standard ISO/DIS 2859-1(1997) is the revised version of ISO 2859-1(1989). Significant changes in this edition include the following; ⅰ) a new procedure for switching from normal to reduced inspection is used, ⅱ) optional fractional acceptance number sampling plans are added, and ⅲ) reduced plans are changed to eliminate the gap between the acceptance and rejection numbers. In this paper, major changes and additions incorporated into the revised version are discussed.

  • Recently, Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) has been attempting to modernize the review processes for generic drug products. Obviously, the modernization effort will lead to harmonize the guidelines in the process to the internationally acceptable level. In general, the Korean version of abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) consisted of similarly to those in developed countries (viz, specifications for bulk drug/preparation, bioequivalence, and stability); However, there exists a significant gap in the sophistication of the guidelines between the Korean version and those in the other countries. • Since the implementation of International Standard Banking Practice(ISBP) in 2003, ICC Publication No. 645 has become an invaluable help to the documentary credit practitioners including banks, companies, transportation and insurance companies etc. However, with the approval of UCP 600 in October 2006, it has become necessary to provide an updated version of the ISBP. It should be emphasized that this ISBP is an updated version as opposed to a revision of ICC Publication No. 645. The new ISBP has been implemented concurrently with UCP 600 since July 1st, 2007. The first necessity was to replace UCP 500 article numbers with those of UCP 600. Second, where it was felt proper, the contents of some paragraphs that appear in ICC Publication No. 645 and that have been covered in UCP 600 have been removed from the updated version of the ISBP. This explains the reduction in the number of paragraphs from 200 to 185. The international standard banking practices documented in the new ISBP are consistent with UCP 600. This ISBP does not amend UCP 600. It explains how the practices articulated in UCP 600 are applied by documentary practitioners. The new ISBP and the UCP 600 should be read in their entirety and not in isolation. It should be kept in mind that any terms in a documentary credit which modifies or excludes the applicability of a provision of UCP 600 may also have an impact on the international standard banking practices. Consequently, when parties concerned must take into account any terms in a documentary credit that expressly modifies or excludes a rule contained in UCP 600.
