We report QLA (Quenching-rate controlled Laser Annealing) system as new concept using pulsed DPSSL and CW lasers. This process can control temperature quenching-rate of poly-Si crystallization by additional CW laser and fabricate high quality poly-Si with faster scanning speed than conventional processes. In this paper, QLA system, the experimental results and theoretical discussion will be introduced.

We report the new method for speaker recognition. Until now, many researchers have used HMM (Hidden Markov Model) with cepstral coefficient or neural network for speaker recognition. Here, we introduce the method of speaker recognition using eigenspace. This method can reduce the training and recognition time of speaker recognition system. In proposed method, we use the low rank model of the speech eigenspace. In experiment, we obtain good recognition result.

Direct-Sequence code-division multiple access(DS/CDMA) is considered by many to be a promising technology for future wireless communication networks. In this paper, we report new analysis for probability of BPSK CDMA hypothesis test in jointly distributed AWGN Rayleigh-fading received signal. In previous method, analysis is performed on AWGN or Rayleigh-faded signal in separately. In this paper, we propose model for hypothesis test system of the AWGN Rayleigh-faded received signal.

In this paper, we report on a set of new algorithms to realize a nonlinear compressed-domain video/audio editor that overcomes various realization problems. For efficiency, the underlying algorithm, which uses a central data structure in the form of doubled linked lists, performs soft edits of cut and paste (which, in turn, involves soft implementations of frame type conversion) and addresses problems relating to video/audio synchronization and random access, and decoder buffer control.

Plant industry, which get high added value, renders to finding a new market for foreign trade by reducing its trouble and promoting economic collaboration. Inspite of this advance, korea plant industry has low techical know-how and has not been koreanized yet. This report presents the range and characteristics of the korean plant industry in chapter one, the present condition in chapter two, and the trend of plant industry of the world in chapter three. It concludes by showing the reform measures of korean plant industry which promoting korean export.

Testate amoebae are useful organisms when evaluating the condition of freshwater ecosystems and wetland habitats. Herein, I report on seventeen unrecorded species of testate amoebae from Korea: Arcella arenaria, A. costata, A. hemisphaerica, Centropyxis constricta, C. discoides, C. spinosa, Difflugia amphora, D. globulosa, D. longicollis, D. penardi, Heleopera rosea, Hyalosphenia subflava, Nebela militaris, N. penardiana, Netzelia wailesi, Cyphoderia ampulla, and C. trochus.

One new iridoid glycoside, 10-p-dihydrocoumaroyl-6-${\alpha}$-hydroxygeniposide (1), and six known iridoid glycoside derivatives, 10-p-dihydrocoumaroyl deacetylasperuloside (2), asperulosidic acid methylester (3), asperuloside (4), asperulosidic acid (5), deacetylasperuloside (6), and scandoside (7) were isolated from the methanolic extract of the whole plant of Galium verum var. asiaticum Nakai (Rubiaceae) through repeated column chromatography. Their chemical structures were characterized by spectroscopic analysis. This is the first report of the characterization of compounds 1 - 7 from this plant.

We report on the discovery of Hellwigia obscura Gravenhorst, 1823, a species new to Korea. A description based on both sexes with photographs and a key to the world Hellwigia species are provided.

In this paper, we report for the first time on a species of Eupithecia from Korea. Three females of Eupithecia praepupillata Wehrli, 1927, were collected from the northeastern part of South Korea. With this addition, a total of 53 species of Eupithecia from Korea have been recorded. Diagnosis and description of the species are provided with figures of the genitalia.

We report a larentiine species, Collix stellata Warren, for the first time from Korea. Two males and one female were collected from Jeju-do Island, South Korea. Collix stellata is similar to Collix ghosa Walker in external appearances, but can be distinguished by the relatively larger discal dot on forewing and the relatively slender valva with distally projected margin of male genitalia. Diagnosis and description of the species are given with the figures of the genitalia.
