Sikh and CaoDai Understandings of Interfaith Harmony: Promoting a Culture of Peace and Understanding

  • The concept of interfaith harmony is one of the key issues for discussion in this contemporary world. It has multifaceted implications that range from pedagogical realms to global policy making. Here we focus on the basic concepts of interfaith harmony from Sikh and Cao Dai perspectives in order to address their viewpoints in regard to promoting culture of Peace and Understanding. Although these religions are new as compared to the existing living religions of the world, they found their new identity in the history of world religions for their unique concepts of interfaith harmony. In this article, the concept of interfaith harmony has been analyzed from two perspectives such as theological and socio-historical. For a systematic understanding of the subject matter, it has been categorized into three subpoints; unity of God, unity of religions and unity of humanity. Methodologically, the qualitative methodological framework of the proposed research is descriptive in nature. Thus, the present research has been primarily conducted by using secondary sources, although the crucial information is collected from primary sources such as the sacred texts of Sikhism and Caodaism. Since this study is done considering the social, political and religious contexts of India and Vietnam, it can contribute to the understanding of the nature of interfaith harmony in South and South-East Asia.

  • The whole world concentrates on the reduction of greenhouse gas to effectively cope with policy toward global climate change. To effectively react to climate change, even the agricultural sector requires construction of new farming systems that utilizes new and renewable energy because of rising oil prices and regulations for greenhouse gas emissions. For this reason, we need to fuse the new and renewable energy with the horticulture sector of which the light and heat energy cost accounts for great part, moreover, efforts and researches should me done which can increase income of farmers through reducing carbon dioxide and energy cost in agricultural production expenses. Therefore, this study analyzes economic feasibility and applicability of fusing geothermal heat pump and solar power facilities with high-tech glass greenhouse. As a result, it is concluded that there surely are an applicability and economic feasibility if we apply new development system that can be an alternative for problems of securing premises of existing geothermal heat pump and the RPS system as a power generation company in case of solar power. Therefore, using this analysis data, if new empirical studies fusing and implementing agriculture sector with new and renewable energy fields proliferate and be applied to actual rural and agricultural field, it will increase actual income and will become a new advanced agricultural system that effectively deals with world-wide environmental problems.

  • A new normalized MBD algorithm is presented for nonstationary convolutive mixtures and its properties/modifications are discussed in details. The proposed algorithm normalizes the signal spectrum in the frequency domain to provide faster stable convergence and improved separation without whitening effect. Modifications such as nonholonomic constraints and off-diagonal learning to the proposed algorithm are also discussed. Simulation results using a real-world recording confirm superior performanceof the proposed algorithm and its usefulness in real world applications.

  • Revision of KS, Korean Standards, is currently actively discussed. It is just the time for a new world class standards under the new system with WTO, World Trade Organization. This paper is a part of “Researchs on the Standards in the Building Acoustic Field”, as one of KS revision projects.   • The purpose of this study is to discuss new entrants' role in a business ecosystem and to analyze growth strategies of a new entrant in the movie industry. When participants of a business ecosystem complement one another with their own unique capabilities, they can coevolve and develop the business ecosystem. Especially, new entrants armed with competitive advantages are the key success factor for improving robustness of business ecosystem. Korean movie industry is dominated by a few large enterprises and thereby threatening fair trade. In an effort to encourage new entrants in the industry, this study analyzed success factors of a film distributor, Next Entertainment World(NEW). The success factors include unique criteria in selecting scenarios, quality management, rapid decision making process, and competent management team. Implications for the results and the future study are discussed.
