Determination of Correlation Times of New Paramagnetic Gadolinium MR Contrast Agents by EPR and 17O NMR

  • The work describes EPR and 17O NMR measurements followed by theoretical calculation of the rotational correlation time $({\tau}_R)$, the water residence time $({\tau}_m)$, and the longitudinal electronic spin relaxation time $(T_{le})$(T_1e) for two new gadolinium complexes 1 and 2 of the type [$Gd(L)(H_2O)$] (L = tranexamic esters) in order to investigate their efficiency as a paramagnetic contrast agent (PCA). Of three correlation times, τR plays a major and predominant role to the unusually high relaxivity of 1 and 2 as compared with that of clinically approved MR CAs such as [$Gd(DTPA)(H_2O)]2‐ (Magnevist${\circledR}$), [Gd(DTPA-BMA)(H2O)] (Omniscan${\circledR}$), and $[Gd(DOTA)(H_2O)]^-$ (Dotarem${\circledR}$). The presence of bulky tranexamic ester in the ligand seems to be responsible for the conformational rigidity, which in turn causes such great an increase in ${\tau}_R$.

A CORRELATION FOR SINGLE PHASE TURBULENT MIXING IN SQUARE ROD ARRAYS UNDER HIGHLY TURBULENT CONDITIONS

  • The existing experimental data related to the turbulent mixing factor in rod arrays is examined and a new definition of the turbulent mixing factor is introduced to take into account the turbulent mixing of fluids with various Prandtl numbers. The new definition of the mixing factor is based on the eddy diffusivity of energy. With this definition of the mixing factor, it was found that the geometrical parameter, ${\delta}_{ij}/D_h$ correlates the turbulent mixing data better than Sid, which has been used frequently in existing correlations. Based on the experimental data for a highly turbulent condition in square rod arrays, a correlation describing turbulent mixing dependent on the parameter ${\delta}_{ij}/D_h$ has been developed. The correlation is insensitive to the Re number and it takes into account the effect of the turbulent Prandtl number. The proposed correlation predicts a reasonable mixing even at a lower S/d ratio.

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive dissolve detection method based on the analysis of a dissolve modeling error that is the difference between an ideally modeled dissolve curve without any correlation and an actual variance curve with a correlation. The dissolve modeling error is determined based on a correlation between two scenes and variances for each scene. First, Candidate regions are extracted by using the characteristics of a parabola that is downward convex, then the candidate region will be verified based on a dissolve modeling error. If a dissolve modeling error on a candidate region is less than a threshold that is defined by a dissolve modeling error with a target correlation, the candidate region should be a dissolve region with a correlation less than the target correlation. The threshold is adaptively determined based on the variances between the candidate regions and the target correlation. By considering the correlation between neighbor scenes, the proposed method is able to be a semantic scene-change detector. The proposed algorithm was tested on various types of data and its performance proved to be more accurate and reliable when compared with other commonly used methods

  • Engine test cell should provide controlled test environment to properly verify requirements of engine performance and operational characteristics. However, since test cells cannot be perfectly identical to each other, new test cell requires processes to verify reliability of test results and correct differences through correlation testing using a baseline test cell. This paper studies about what should be considered when correlation testing is performed based on commonalities and differences between turbofan and turboshaft engine. It provides examples of correlation test procedure. In the future, it is expected that this study will help set up a standard that can certify test facility according to engine type.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine correlation between the two variables home maenaegement consciousnsess and home management behavior identify the diversity of home management behavior of married new generation and empirically test the variables which affect home management behavior. The major results are as follows: 1. There was a positive correlation between home management consciousness and home management behavior in all of the subarea family relation home management and consumer and financial management. 2. The home management behavior of married new generation men was more modernized and more rational in the area of family relation and home management than those of the counterpart. 3. Among the variables home management consciousness variable was most important in home management behavior. No gender differences were found.

  • As the number of internet-connected appliances and the variety of IoT services are rapidly increasing, it is hard to protect IT assets with traditional network security techniques. Most traditional network log analysis systems use rule based mechanisms to reduce the raw logs. But using predefined rules can't detect new attack patterns. So, there is a need for a mechanism to reduce congested raw logs and detect new attack patterns. This paper suggests enterprise security management for IoT services using graph and network measures. We model an event network based on a graph of interconnected logs between network devices and IoT gateways. And we suggest a network clustering algorithm that estimates the attack probability of log clusters and detects new attack patterns.

  • This paper propose that is algorithm of power dissipation reduction in the high level synthesis design for DSP(Digital Signal Processor), as the portable terminal system recently demand high power dissipation. This paper obtain effect of power dissipation reduction and switching activity that increase correlation of operands as input data of function unit. The algorithm search loop or repeatedly data to the input operands of function unit. That can be reduce the power dissipation using the new low power high level synthesis algorithm. In this Paper, scheduling operation search same nodes from input DFG(Data Flow Graph) with correlation coefficient of first input node and among nodes. Function units consist a multiplier, an adder and a register. The power estimation method is added switching activity for each bits of nodes. The power estimation have good efficient using proposed algorithm. This paper result obtain more Power reduction of fifty percents after using a new low power algorithm in a function unit as multiplier.

  • In this paper we suggest a new two-wheelers detection algorithm using local cell features. The first, we propose new feature vector matrix extraction algorithm using the correlation two cells based on local cell histogram and shifting from the result of histogram of oriented gradients(HOG). The second, we applied new weighting values which are calculated by the modified histogram intersection showing the similarity of two cells. This paper applied the Adaboost algorithm to make a strong classification from weak classification. In this experiment, we can get the result that the detection rate of the proposed method is higher than that of the traditional method.

  • A few correlation equations of the saturated liquid density are reviewed and a new equation is proposed. Performance of each equation is examined using the data listed in the ASHRAE table for 22 pure substance refrigerants. The new four-parameter equation yields an average absolute deviation of 0.03% for 22 refrigerants. Performance of the new four-parameter equation is found to be equivalent to those of the existing equations such as Hou-Martin equation(0.03%) and Iglesias-Silva-Hall equation(0.08%).

  • Recently new technological development needs the advances in the fields of new materials. The most advanced design is not useful if new material's performance is not realized adequately for bearing the service loads and conditions. FGMs suggests the reasonable solution for the those requirements because of its wide range microstructure and the continuous constitutions. It's especially good for the heat-resisting components, piezoelectricity and aerocraft fields. However the fabrication and its experimental estimation methods have not been established because of its various freedom of material's properties. Therefore it is necessary to develope the fabrication method and estimation of strength and deformation. The experiments are conducted under a four point flexural test. According to results, this study shows that FGMs is well fabricated and the deformation and strain fields are expressed very well by digital image correlation method.
