The Developing & Producing of Eco-Friendly vehicle have been more incremented, as People appreciate the importance of Earth Environment Conservation. The needs of Neighborhood Electric Vehicle(NEV) that suits Current people's short drive distance is incremented. In this Paper, we define Neighborhood Electric Vehicle through out National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of United States of America's regulation and explain motor and battery of primary constituents of that. We used MATLAB and ADVISOR 200 programs for Simulation, and propsed NEV's Model that tow people can be got in. In this Model, the battery is Lead-acid battery(72V, 85Ah) and the motor is 8kW permanent magnet synchronous motor(PM motor). We compared change of driving range of NEV through out non-changing speed Driving(10km/h, 20km/h, 30km/h, 40km/h) and Manhattan driving schedule.
In recent years, with the growing interest in electric vehicles, the development of a Neighborhood Electronic Vehicle (NEV) made for urban driving is accelerating. Existing NEVs are set to ~0.3 - 0.35 with more emphasis on performance rather than minimizing air resistance. In this paper, a NEV with a streamlined car body is proposed. The shape of dolphins and sharks was applied to the car body to minimize the air resistance generated when driving. Also, the performance of the vehicle was estimated by calculating the traction force and the roll couple, etc. To check the drag coefficient of the car body, finite element analysis software (COMSOL Multiphysics) was used. The frame of the vehicle is divided into the forward and the rear parts. Carbon pipe is used for the frame by MIG welding. The car body of the vehicle was fabricated by forming carbon fiber. This study confirmed the general possibility of using NEVs through driving experiments.
Recently, the depletion of fossil fuel carbon dioxide emissions due to limitations in the internal combustion engine vehicles is rising concern about electric vehicle. Neighborhood Electric Vehicle(NEV) is maximum speed 60km/h and one day driving distances less than 80km. In this paper, Power Conversion Controller is proposed for Neighborhood Electric Vehicle. To verify the developed Power conversion Controller, Test performed integration test, max load, power density, efficiency. Confirmed that the vehicle can be applied.
In this paper, a 50-kW high-efficiency modular fast charger for both electric vehicle (EV) and neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) is proposed. The proposed fast charger consists of five 10-kW modules to achieve fault tolerance, ease of thermal management, and reduce component stress. Three-level topologies for both AC-DC and DC-DC converters are employed to use 600V MOSFET, resulting in ease of component selection and increase in switching frequency. The proposed three-level DC-DC converter with coupled inductor and its hybrid switching method can reduce the circulating current under wide output voltage range. A 50-kW prototype of the proposed fast charger was developed and tested to verify the validity of the proposed concept. Experimental results show that the proposed fast charger achieves a rated efficiency of 95.2% and a THD of less than 3%.
The battery pack, a main component of NEV(Neighborhood Electric Vehicle), needs cooling system when it is charging or discharging to prevent the degradation of the battery charging efficiency. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effects of cooling methods, changing positions of inlet and outlet and changing area ratios of inlet and outlet. It has been observed that in the point of uniform cooling suction from the exit side is more efficient than blowing from the inlet. And there is a suitable inlet/outlet area ratio in maximizing the mass flow rate. The numerical analyse using a commercial code STAR-CCM+ version 4.02 were used for the study.
