This dissertation aims at studying how 'the 28 Lunar Mansions' was applied to the Oriental medicine(韓醫學) and was set up as one of the most important theories of Oriental medicine. This study especially examines how 'the 28 Lunar Mansions' has influenced Oriental medicine focusing on the exploration of "The Huang Di Nei Jing, the Inner Classic of the Yellow Emperor ${\ll}$黃帝內經${\gg}$" and "Lei Jing ${\ll}$類經${\gg}$". Through that examination, there came some findings as follow.

On the importance of brain, Nei Ching has many descriptions, but it has been 3,000 years since the theory was issued that brain should be considered as a viscera. Nowadays scientists rush more studies on brain in international scientific field, Eastern medicine is to be required for the solution of it. This study is on the identical pathological mechanism between Simpo and brain based on my researches on senil dimentia through continued reports last 15 years. A psychosis is caused by stress and abnormality of neurotransmitter on brain, for which is caused by seven emotions and pathological material on Simpo in Pyun Jahk Simseo, so it shows Simpo is brain clearly. Therefore Simpo is no more intangible organ but brain, Samcho which has been debated similarly for thousands of years in the orient is no more intangible but spinal nerve system on central nerve with its structure and physiological points, and both two organs are composed of inside and outside relationship in Eastern medicine, I report hereby today.

The intelligent tissue theory states that organ information is conveyed on electromagnetic waves and these are interpreted by bodily tissue, so that real-time organ states are reflected in the tissue at each organ's related meridian. This article describes the practical implications of this, how this relates to acupuncture, and how it accounts for the common acupuncture-related phenomena. The Chinese medicine notion of "chi" is also explored. Its history is described, including the 1970's reinterpretation. This article suggests that both the Nei Jing and also the 1970's model of how acupuncture works are merely metaphorical; do not describe reality; and that "chi" (which is central to these models) does not really exist. Alternative explanations are provided for all the common phenomena that are usually attributed to "chi", and a simple account of how acupuncture works is given.

Based on ASME probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) and NEI PRA peer review guidance, we evaluate a human reliability analysis (HRA) in probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) for Korea standard nuclear power plants, Ulchin Unit 3&4, to improve it performed at under design. The HRA for Ulchin Unit 3&4 is assessed as higher than Grade I based on ASME PRA standard and as higher than Grade 2 based on NEI PRA peer review guidance. The major items to be improved identified through the evaluation process are the documentation, the systematic human reliability analysis, the participitation of operators in the works and review of HRA. We suggest the guidance on the identification and qualitative screening analysis for pre-accident human errors and solve some items to be improved using the suggested guidance.

Lepista nuda is a world-wide species which has and international reputation as a excellent edible species. In this study, we investigated the genetic variation and taxonomic relationship of L. nuda and other five Tricholomataceae species were analyzed by random amplied polymorphic DNA (RAPD). 15 kinds of random primers were used. The distance matrix was calculated using UPGMA and phyolgenetic relationship were inferred by neighnor-joining (NJ) method. Various bands of 100bp∼1600bp were observed in electrophoretic patterns of RAPD. Nei's genetic distance was calculated using a total of 228 DNA bands identified, and phylogenetic tree was made. The Nei's genetic variations of L. nuda, Lepista surdida, Collybia peronata, Collybia confluens, Lyophyllum cinerascens, Laccara laccata were 0∼21.3%, 21.2∼28.0%, 15.4∼23.0%, 14∼21.8%, 16.5∼34.6%, and 12.4∼27.4%, respectively The consistency index, the retention index and homoplasy index were 0.5217, 0.5769 and 0.5156, respectively. Also, two groups could be made by NJ tree. The genetic distance between L. nuda and C. confluens was closer than that between L. nuda and L. sordida.

When the fire takes place in Nuclear Powr Plants(NPPs), the reactor should achieve and maintain safe shut-down conditions and minimize the radioactive material released to the environment. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued numerous generic communications related to fire protection over the past 20 years, after it issued its requirements in the Fire Protection Rule set forth in Title 10, Section 50.48 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR 50.48) and Appendix R to the 10 CFR 50. The and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) has developed a Methodology for Risk Informed Fire Safe-Shutdown Analysis, which is related to the Deterministic Method for Multiple Spurious Operations solutions. The aim of this study was to identify, achieve, and maintain Post-Fire Safe-Shutdown of the Main Control Room (MCR) of the CANDU reactor, even though one train of the multiple Safety Structures, Systems, and Components (SCCs) fail by the technical specification and analysis method.

The purpose of this study was to compare the quality of life in low vision to the one in normals. 20 multifactorial patients in low vision and 20 age-matched healthy normals took part in the survey and were orally estimated using NEI VFQ-25. The age of participants ranged 25 to 78. The mean score in low vision subjects was 55.88$\pm$14.76, whereas the one in normal subjects was 94.47$\pm$3.78. The age of low vision subject was highly correlated with the item Near Activities(r=-0.584), their LogMAR was fairly good correlated with the item Peripheral Vision(r=0.527). The quality of life in low vision is considerably depressed comparing to normals. Is there the nystagmus in low vision patient, it is inferred that the quality of life considerably leads to the problem.
