Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the effect of Needle -Embedding Therapy in peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : We investigated 12 patients with peripheral facial paralysis. The patients were treated by basic oriental medicine treatment. Especially Needle-Embedding Therapy was added. We evaluated the effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy by using Yanagihara's unweighted grading system from baseline to final. Results : 1. The final Yanagihara's scores were higher than those of baseline. 2. The longer Needle Embedding Therapy period and the higher the number of the therapy repeated, the greater the effectiveness of the therapy. Conclusions : 1. Needle-Embedding Therapy was efficacious in peripheral facial paralysis. 2. Further studies will be required to identify the beneficial effect of Needle- Embedding Therapy in peripheral facial paralysis.

Objective : This study was performed to investigate the effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy on peripheral facial paralysis. Method : We investigated 60 cases of patients with peripheral facial paralysis, and devided patients into two groups : We treated one group by complex korean medical treatment with Needle-Embedding therapy, and did the other group by complex korean medical treatment without Needle-Embedding therapy. Yanagihara grading system at baseline and final were used for evaluating the effect of the treatment. Results : 1. In Needle-Embedding therapy group and non Needle-Embedding therapy group, compared with baseline, at final, Y score was significantly increased.2. At final, there was significant difference in improvement between Needle-Embedding therapy group and non Needle-Embedding therapy group. Conclusions : Needle-Embedding therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of peripheral facial paralysis. Further studies will be needed to identify the beneficial of Needle-Embedding therapy on peripheral facial paralysis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of needle-embedding therapy against facial wrinkle. Methods : Ten patients with facial wrinkles were treated with needle-embedding therapy. Pictures and satisfaction questionnaire were compared before and after the treatment. And all patients were examined for adverse side effect after needle-embedding therapy. Results : After treatment, facial wrinkles were visibly improved after needle-embedding therapy. There were no adverse side effect except bruise. Conclusions : This study suggests that needle-embedding therapy can improve facial wrinkles.

Objectives: This study aims to examine the improvement against facial wrinkles after needle-embedding therapy. Methods: The study participants were 10 women treated with needle-embedding therapy in the Korean Medical Clinic from September, 2011 to August, 2014. The subjects were treated every ten days for twenty days, totally three times, and the result of treatment was evaluated five times, such as pre-treatment, after each treatments, one month and two months later of the last treatment with ARAMO-SG. Results: 1. Depth and range of facial wrinkles, facial skin pore test, and sensitivity test were visibly improved after needle-embedding therapy and follow-up compared pre-treatment (p<0.05). 2. The significant improvements in facial skin texture test was not observed and sustained until the follow-up measurement at 2 months. 3. Any adverse reaction related to needle-embedding therapy did not happen. Conclusions: This study suggests that needle-embedding therapy can improve facial wrinkles. The positive results of this study support the requirement for additional research investigating the efficacy of needle-embedding therapy in women.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to observe the effect of Needle-embedding therapy on sequelae of peripheral facial palsy. Methods : 27 patients with sequelae of peripheral facial palsy were treated with Needle-embedding therapy. Yanagihara score, number of symptoms, symptoms score were compared between before and after treatment to evaluate the effect of Needle-embedding therapy. Results : After treatment, Yanagihara score, number of symptoms, symptom score were significantly decreased(p<0.05). Conclusions : Needle-embedding therapy could be effective to improve symptoms of sequelae of peripheral facial palsy patients.

Objective : Needle embedding therapy is a newly induced therapy which uses specialized tools. The purpose of this study is to report the nasolabial folds correction effect of needle embedding therapy on 5 cases. Method : Five women with no disease were received needle embedding therapy four to six times over one to two months. The photos of each patient were taken before and after the treatment. Also, Glogau photoaging classification were assessed before and after the treatment. Result and conclusion : Needle embedding therapy may be an effective and safe treatment for the correction of nasolabial folds.

The patient was treated by basic oriental medicine treatment. We evaluated the effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy by using Yanagihara's unweighted grading system and subjective satisfaction score. The final Yanagihara's score was higher than before the treatment. The patient was satisfied after Needle-Embedding Therapy. Needle-Embedding Therapy was effective against facial paralysis after acoustic neuroma surgery. Further studies will be required to identify the beneficial effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy in facial paralysis after acoustic neuroma surgery.

Objectives : The object of this study is to observe the effect of needle-embedding and acupuncture therapy on shoulder pain in Behcet disease. Methods : Needle-embedding therapy and acupuncture therapy was used to treat shoulder pain. We evaluated the patient through visual analog scale(VAS) and shoulder range of movement(ROM). Results : After weekly four times of needle-embedding therapy and daily acupuncture therapy, patient's VAS was decreased to 4 and ROM of shoulder was also improved. Conclusions : Needle-embedding and acupuncture therapy could be effective to decrease shoulder pain and improve movement of shoulder in Behcet disease patient.

Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy in early stage of intractable peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : 46 patients with severe peripheral facial paralysis were treated with oriental medicine therapy including Needle-Embedding Therapy in their early stage. We evaluated the effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy by House-Brackmann Grading system, decrease of subjective symptoms and satisfaction measurement. Results : After treatment, HB-Scale grade was significantly decreased(p-value<0.001). More than 50% of subjective symptoms were disappeared in 82.61% of patients. 80.48% of the patients was satisfied with the Needle-Embedding Therapy. Conclusion : Needle-Embedding Therapy could be effective to improve symptoms of severe peripheral facial paralysis in early stage. Further studies will be required to identify the beneficial effect of Needle-Embedding Therapy in early stage of peripheral facial paralysis.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report a case of idiopathic oculomotor nerve palsy improved by Korean Medicine therapy including needle-embedding therapy. Methods : We treated a 69-year old male patient who has Rt. ptosis, Rt. eye movement impairment, and dizziness with various Korean medical therapy including acupuncture, Bojungikgitanggami, and Hominis Placenta pharmacopuncture. To promote recovery, we additionally performed needle-embedding therapy to periocular acupoints. Results : Ptosis started to remarkably improve after performing needle-embedding therapy. After 54 days of treatment, ptosis and eye movement impairment of Rt. eye were significantly improved similar to the normal eye. Dizziness was cured in a few days after administration. Conclusions : This case suggests Korean medicine including needle-embedding therapy is effective against oculomotor nerve palsy symptoms especially for ptosis.
