근접영역에서의 IR 탐색기 정보를 이용한 표적적응유도 (Target Adaptive Guidance Using Near-Zone Information from IR Seeker)

  • A target adaptive guidance(TAG) algorithm is proposed employing the near-zone signal that can be measured from an infrared seeker. The guidance order is composed of a conventional PNG command and an additional command to be calculable from an additional LOS rate between a hot point of target and a required intercept point. The characteristic of the near-zone signal is similar to that of LOS rate that is inversely proportional to the square of time-to-go. Hence the proposed scheme can be applied to real systems with no estimator for time-to-go. From analysis results on the miss distance with perfect missile and perfect seeker, it follows that the proposed TAG algorithm guarantees missile to be ideally guided to the required intercept point. And it is less affected by the TAG start time and a proportional navigation ratio than other TAG schemes using a LOS rate such as a step bias or a ramp bias.

준 실시간 정밀 위성궤도결정을 위한 이론적 고찰 (A Preliminary Study of Near Real-time Precision Satellite Orbit Determination)

  • 장기선 네트워크 RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) 측량, 정밀단독측위(precise point positioning) 및 전리층/대류권 지연 모니터링등 GPS를 이용한 실시간 데이터 처리를 위해서는 IGS(International GNSS Service)에서 제공하는 정밀궤도 수준의 정확도가 시간지연 없이 확보되어야 한다. 본 연구는 준 실시간 위성궤도결정을 위한 선행연구로서 일반적인 위성궤도 결정 방법, 특히 동역학적 방법에 대한 이론적 고찰과 가속도 적분을 위한 지구기준/관성좌표계 변환 방법에 대한 테스트를 수행하였다. IAU 1976/1980 세차/장동모델은 IAU 2000A 모델과 0.05mas 수준의 허용범위 내 차이를 보였다. IAU 2000A 모델은 기본적으로 복잡한 장동모델로 인해 변환행렬 계산에 많은 시간이 소요된다. IAU 2000A 모델에 기존 변환 방법을 사용하는 경우가 NRO(non-rotating origin) 방법에 비해 2배정도 빠른 결과를 보인 반면 회전행렬의 실질적인 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다.

THE ANALYSIS OF EFFLUENT GAS FROM ETHYLENE FURNACE BY NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY

  • Usually there are many furnaces in a ethylene plant and the performance of total furnaces can be improved if that of each furnace is monitored and controlled. For this purpose real-time data for the effluent of each furnace is necessary. However, it is very difficult to analyze the total effluent stream of a ethylene furnace by real-time because it is composed of so many components including heavy hydrocarbons. Fortunately, component data for lighter hydrocarbons is much more important than that of heavier ones for ethylene furnace. In ordinary case, the on-line measurement of light hydrocarbons is performed by on-stream gas chromatography, after separating gas-phase part from effluent. The main and important components of gas-phase are Methane, Ethane, Ethylene, and Propylene. If we can use Near-infrared spectroscopy for measuring those components within good reproducibility, shorter analysis time, better repeatability, easier maintenance and lower cost will make Near-infrared (NIR) analyzer replace on-stream gas chromatography in this process. Although it is known to be very difficult to measure gas components because of very weak absorption in Near-infrared region, we have studied the feasibility of the application of NIR for the measurement of gas-phase hydrocarbon in the effluent of ethylene furnace. The samples were obtained from actual process and NIR spectra were collected over 1100 to 2500nm range. NIR spectra and calibrations showed and demonstrated the possibility of extending NIR spectroscopy to the measurement of gas-phase hydrocarbon in the effluent of ethylene furnace.

Windows NT상에서의 OPRoS 컴포넌트 스케줄러의 실시간성 분석 및 개선 (Real-Time Characteristics Analysis and Improvement for OPRoS Component Scheduler on Windows NT Operating System)

  • The OPRoS (Open Platform for Robotic Service) framework provides uniform operating environment for service robots. As an OPRoS-based service robot has to support real-time as well as non-real-time applications, application of Windows NT kernel based operating system can be restrictive. On the other hand, various benefits such as rich library and device support and abundant developer pool can be enjoyed when service robots are built on Windows NT. The paper presents a user-mode component scheduler of OPRoS, which can provide near real-time scheduling service on Windows NT based on the restricted real-time features of Windows NT kernel. The component scheduler thread with the highest real-time priority in Windows NT system acquires CPU control. And then the component scheduler suspends and resumes each periodic component executors based on its priority and precedence dependency so that the component executors are scheduled in the preemptive manner. We show experiment analysis on the performance limitations of the proposed scheduling technique. The analysis and experimental results show that the proposed scheduler guarantees highly reliable timing down to the resolution of 10ms.

  • The near-optimal control algorithm for central cooling and heating system has been developed for minimizing energy consumption while maintaining the comfort of indoor thermal environment in terms of the environmental variables such as time varying indoor load and outdoor temperatures. The optimal set-points of control parameters with near-optimal control are supply air and chilled or hot water temperatures. The near optimal control algorithm has been implemented by using LabVIEW program in order to analyze energy performance for central cooling and heating control system.

Precision Assessment of Near Real Time Precise Orbit Determination for Low Earth Orbiter

  • The precise orbit determination (POD) of low earth orbiter (LEO) has complied with its required positioning accuracy by the double-differencing of observations between International GNSS Service (IGS) and LEO to eliminate the common clock error of the global positioning system (GPS) satellites and receiver. Using this method, we also have achieved the 1 m positioning accuracy of Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT)-2. However double-differencing POD has huge load of processing the global network of lots of ground stations because LEO turns around the Earth with rapid velocity. And both the centimeter accuracy and the near real time (NRT) processing have been needed in the LEO POD applications--atmospheric sounding or urgent image processing--as well as the surveying. An alternative to differential GPS for high accuracy NRT POD is precise point positioning (PPP) to use measurements from one satellite receiver only, to replace the broadcast navigation message with precise post processed values from IGS, and to have phase measurements of dual frequency GPS receiver. PPP can obtain positioning accuracy comparable to that of differential positioning. KOMPSAT-5 has a precise dual frequency GPS flight receiver (integrated GPS and occultation receiver, IGOR) to satisfy the accuracy requirements of 20 cm positioning accuracy for highly precise synthetic aperture radar image processing and to collect GPS radio occultation measurements for atmospheric sounding. In this paper we obtained about 3-5 cm positioning accuracies using the real GPS data of the Gravity Recover and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites loaded the Blackjack receiver, a predecessor of IGOR. And it is important to reduce the latency of orbit determination processing in the NRT POD. This latency is determined as the volume of GPS measurements. Thus changing the sampling intervals, we show their latency to able to reduce without the precision degradation as the assessment of their precision.

  • 국토모니터링기술개발 핵심과제는 지능형국토정보기술혁신사업단의 5개 핵심과제 중 하나로서 토지피복변화가 빈번한 한반도 전역의 국토변화를 주기적/실시간으로 모니터링하기 위한 기술적 기반을 제공하고자 한다. 이 과제는 크게 두개의 연구주제를 포함하고 있는데, 첫번째 주제는 공중 및 지상에서 실시간으로 국토모니터링을 위한 자료 획득을 다루고 있다. 디지털항공사진 및 항공 LiDAR 자료를 실시간으로 획득하기 위한 영상시스템과 USN, 지상 비디오 영상, 차량탑재 센서를 통한 지상자료획득 시스템을 개발하여 공중원격탐사자료의 한계를 극복하기 위한 자료획득시스템을 개발하고자 한다. 두 번째 주제는 국토모니터링을 담당하고 있는 공공기관에서 직접 채택 운영될 수 있는 여러 활용시스템을 개발하고 그에 필요한 제반 처리기술을 개발하고자 한다. MODIS 위성자료를 이용한 국토모니터링 시스템은 그러한 활용시스템의 하나로서 준 실시간으로 한반도 전역의 토지피복 상황을 모니터링하기 위한 기술을 포함하고 있다.

A near and far-field monitoring technique for damage detection in concrete structures

  • Real-time near and far-field monitoring of concrete structural components gives enough information on the time and condition at which damage occurs, thereby facilitating damage detection while in the same time evaluate the cause of the damage. This paper experimentally investigates an integrated monitoring technique for near and far-field damage detection in concrete structures based on simultaneous use of electromechanical admittance technique in combination with guided wave propagation. The proposed sensing system does not measure the electromechanical admittance itself but detect time variations in output voltages of the response signal obtained across the electrodes of piezoelectric transducers bonded on surfaces of concrete structures. The damage identification is based on the spectral estimation MUSIC algorithm. Experimental results show the efficiency and performance of the proposed measuring technique.

REAL-TIME 3D MODELING FOR ACCELERATED AND SAFER CONSTRUCTION USING EMERGING TECHNOLOGY

  • The research presented in this paper enables real-time 3D modeling to help make construction processes ultimately faster, more predictable and safer. Initial research efforts used an emerging sensor technology and proved its usefulness in the acquisition of range information for the detection and efficient representation of static and moving objects. Based on the time-of-flight principle, the sensor acquires range and intensity information of each image pixel within the entire sensor's field-of-view in real-time with frequencies of up to 30 Hz. However, real-time working range data processing algorithms need to be developed to rapidly process range information into meaningful 3D computer models. This research ultimately focuses on the application of safer heavy equipment operation. The paper compares (a) a previous research effort in convex hull modeling using sparse range point clouds from a single laser beam range finder, to (b) high-frame rate update Flash LADAR (Laser Detection and Ranging) scanning for complete scene modeling. The presented research will demonstrate if the FlashLADAR technology can play an important role in real-time modeling of infrastructure assets in the near future.
