용융염합성법과 화학공침법에 의한 $A_2B_2O_{7}$형 압전세라믹스의 저온소성과 유전특성 (Low Temperature Sintering and Dieletric Properties of $Sr_2Nb_2O_{7}$ Ceramics by the Flux and the Chemical Coprecipitation Methods)

  • Strontium niobate, $Sr_2Nb_2O_{7}$ was prepared by the molten stilt synthesis (MSS) and the chemical coprecipitation method (CCP). Single phase $Sr_2Nb_2O_{7}$ was obtained by MSS and CCP at $750^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$, respectively. An intermediate phase of composition, $Sr_{5}Nb_4O_{15}$, appeared at $700^{\circ}C$ when CCP method was employed. The resulting powder was observed to have finer particles and more uniform distribution of particle sizes, as compared to those obtained through the conventional method. Such powder characteristics allowed the use of a much lower sintering temperature of $1400^{\circ}C$. Grain-orientation along (0k0) direction, which is advantageous for improving dielectric properties, was also observed. The sintering characteristics and the dielectric properties prepared by MSS and CCP, were better than those by the conventional method.

소결온도에 따른 (Ba,Sr)(Nb,Ti)$O_3$ 세라믹스의 구조적 특성 (The structural properties of (Ba,Sr)(Nb,Ti)$O_3$ ceramics with sintering temperature)

  • The $(Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5})(Nb_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ [BSNT] ceramics were prepared by conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties of the BSNT ceramics with sintering temperature were investigated by XRD, SEM, EDS. Increasing the sintering temperature, diffraction intensity of the BST(110) peak was increased. The average grain size of BSNT ceramics were increased with sintering temperature. In the case of BSNT ceramics sintered at 1550$^{\circ}C$, the grain was uniform and the pore was not existed. Increasing the sintering temperature from 1400$^{\circ}C$ to 1500$^{\circ}C$, the amount of Nb and Sr were decreased. The density of BSNT ceramics sintered at 1550$^{\circ}C$ was $1.125g/cm^2$.

저온 동시소결을 위한 Ni-Zn-Cu 폐라이트와 Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3에서의 열적 거동 및 계면층 특성 (Interfacial Layer and Thermal Characteristics in Ni-Zn-Cu Ferrite and Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 for the Low Temperature Co-sintering)

  • In order to apply a complex multilayer chip LC filter, this study has estimated the interfacial reaction and coupling properties of dielectric materials $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ and Ni-Zn-Cu ferrite materials through low-temperature co-sintering (LTCS). PFN powders were fabricated using double calcinated at $700^{\circ}C$ and then $850^{\circ}C$. While the perovskite phase rate was found to be 91 %, after heat treatment at $900^{\circ}C$ for 6h, the perovskite phase rate and density exhibited a value of 100 % and 7.46$g/cm^3$, respectively. The PFN/Ni-Zn-Cu ferrite, PFN/CUO (or $Pb_2Fe_2O_5$) and ferrite/CuO (or $Pb_2Fe_2O_5$) were mechanically coupled through interfacial reactions after the specimen was co-sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ for 6 h. No intermediate layer exists for the mutual coupling reaction. This result indicates the possibility of low-temperature co-sintering without any interfacial reaction layer for a multilayer chip LC filter.

  • The effect of Nb on interfacial bonding characteristics of Ni-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown (PFM) has been studied in order to investigate oxide layer. A specimens of Ni-Cr alloy, which is 0.8mm in thickness, within the porcelain furnace of 1,000$^{\circ}C$ with four tests such as air, vacuum, air for 5 minutes and vacuum for 5 minutes in order to examine an oxide behavior of alloy surface generated by the adding of Nb to be controlled at a rate of 0, 1, 3 and 5. Oxide film was observed form of the fired specimens with scanning electron microscope (SEM), and at the same time it measured Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA). The result of this study were as follows: 1. Cr oxide film and Nb oxide film were observed from the surface of specimen to be controlled at a rate of Nb 1%. 2. Nb oxide film was observed from the interface of specimens to be controlled at a rate of Nb 1% and 3%. 3. The stability of oxide films that treated in air were more stable than treated under vacuum.

Ti-Nb계 합금의 미세조직 및 경도변화에 미치는 열처리 조건의 영향 (The Effect of the Heat Treatment Conditions on the Microstructure and Hardness of Ti-Nb Alloys)

  • Ti-3wt.%Nb(${\alpha}$type), Ti-20wt.%Nb(${\alpha}+{\beta}$,type) and Ti-40wt.%Nb(${\beta}$type) alloys were melted by vacuum are remelting. The specimens were homogenized at 1050$^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr and were then hot rolled to 50% reduction. Each alloys were solution heat treated at ${\beta}$ zone and ${\alpha}+{\beta}$, zone after homogenization, and then aged. The microstructural and hardness changes in Ti-Nb alloys with Nb contents were investigated by SEM, XRD and hardness tester. The microstructural change from equiaxied to acicular and the increase of ${\beta}$ phase in Ti-Nb alloys were obtained when the Nb content increased. The higher hardness value of ${\alpha}+{\beta}$type alloy was obtained compared to the other alloys.

Enhancement of a mechanical property of metal sheaths (Cu and Nb) of MgB2 superconducting wires by E-beam irradiation

  • Effects of electron beam (EB) irradiation on the mechanical strength of Cu (conducting sheath) and Nb (diffusion barrier) of Cu/Nb/MgB2 superconducting was investigated. Wire- and tape-type Cu/Nb/MgB2 samples were irradiated at E-beam energy of 2.5 MeV and 5 mA and a maximum E-beam dose was 5×1017 e/m2. The hardness value of Cu and Nb region was measured by the Vickers micro-hardness method. In the case of the wire sample, the hardness of Cu and Nb increased proportionally as the dose was increased up to 5×1017 e/m2, whereas in the case of the tape sample, the hardness increased up to a dose of 0.5×1017 e/m2, and decreased slightly 5×1017 e/m2. The hardness increase of Cu and Nb is believed to be due to the decrease of the deformability of Cu and Nb due to the defects formed inside the materials by E-beam irradiation.

  • [ $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ ] 세라믹스의 소결 온도를 낮추기 위하여 $PbO-B_2O_3-SiO_2$계 glass frit를 $0.5\~10w\%$ 첨가하고 소결 조건 변화에 따른 마이크로파 유전특성과 미세구조를 조사하였다. $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ 유전체의 소결 밀도와 마이크로파 유전특성은 액상 소결조제로서 첨가한 glass frit의 첨가량에 따라 크게 변화하였다. $PbO-B_2O_3-SiO_2$계 glass frit을 $3wt\%$ 첨가하고 $900^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결한 시편은 유전상수(K) 41.4, 품질계수(Q$\times$f) 13,485 GHz, 공진주파수 온도계수(TCF) 9 ppm/$^{\circ}C$의 마이크로파 유전특성을 나타내었다. 또한, 상기 조성의 유전체 재료는 Ag 전극과의 동시소결에도 물리, 화학적 반응이 없어 적층형 유전체 필터 재료로서 적합한 재료라고 판단된다.

Ti-(42, 44)%Al 합금의 고온내산화성에 미치는 Nb, V 및 Cr의 영향 (Effect of Nb, V and Cr on the High Temperature Oxidation of Ti-(42, 44)% Al Alloys)

  • 6종류의 조성을 가진 TiAl계 합금, 즉 Ti-(42, 44)Al-2Nb-4V, Ti-(42, 44)Al-4Nb-2V 및 Ti-(42, 44)Al-4Nb-2Cr을 아크용해법으로 제조한 후, 이들의 산화성질을 조사하였다. 700, 800 및 $900^{\circ}C$의 대기 중, 50시간동안의 등온 및 반복 산화실험으로부터, 산화저항은 Ti-(42, 44)Al-2Nb-4V, Ti-(42, 44)Al-4Nb-2V 및 Ti-(42, 44)Al-4Nb-2Cr의 순으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 내산화성에서 V은 해로운 원소이고 Cr은 유익한 원소이었다. 산화 중 모든 모재 구성원서는 외부확산하였고 분위기중으로 부터의 산소는 내부확산하는 상호확산이 관찰되었으며, 생성되는 산화물은 최외각 $\textrm{TiO}_2$층, 상부 ($\textrm{TiO}_2+\textrm{Al}_2\textrm{O}_3$) 혼합층 및 하부 $\textrm{TiO}_2$-잉여층으로 이루어진 3층 산화물구조로 구성되어 있었다.

Nb이 첨가된 Ti합금의 내식성 및 생체안정성 (Effects of Nb Addition on Corrosion Resistance and Cytotoxicity Behavior of Ti Alloys)

  • The corrosion resistance and cytotoxicity behavior of Ti alloys were studied as a function of Nb contents(3wt.%Nb, 20wt.%Nb, 40wt.%Nb). Ti-Nb alloys were melted by vacuum arc furnace and then rolled to 50% reduction ratio after homogenized at 105$0^{\circ}C$ for 24hrs. The corrosion resistance of Ti-Nb alloys were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization test in the 0.9% NaCl and 5% HCI solution. Biocompatibility of Ti-Nb alloys was evaluated by cytotoxicity test. The results can be summarized as follows 1) The microstructure change from equiaxial to acicular and the increased $\beta$ phase in Ti-Nb alloys were obtained as the Nb content increased. 2) For the corrosion test in the solution of 0.9% NaCl and 5% HCI, the corrosion behavior of Ti-Nb alloys was similar to ASTM grade 2 CP Ti. 3) For the cytotoxicity test, Ti-Nb alloys showed excellent biocompatibility compared to ASTM grade 2 CP Ti, 316L STS and Co-Cr alloys.

Donor Dopant 첨가 Zr0.8Sn0.2TiO4 세라믹스의 마이크로파 유전특성 (Microwave Dielectric Properties of Donor doped Zr0.8Sn0.2TiO4 Ceramics)

  • Donor dopant로 WO3, Ta2O5 및 Nb2O5를 첨가한 Zr0.8Sn0.2TiO4 세라믹스의 유전상수 $\varepsilon$r 품 질계수 Q 및 공진주파수의 온도계수 rf에 대하여 연구하였다. 139$0^{\circ}C$에서 32시간 소결시 donor dopant 첨가량에 따른 ZST의 유전상수는 소결밀도의 변화 거동과 잘 일치하였다. 5.5 GHz에서 측정 한 ZST의 품질계수 Q는 ~0.5 mol% WO3 Ta2O5 및 Nb2O5 첨가에 의해 6800에서 8500 정도로 증가 하였다. ZST의 $\tau$f는 0.3 mol%까지의 WO3 첨가량 증가에 따라 0 ppm/$^{\circ}C$에서 -4.6 ppm/$^{\circ}C$까지 음 의 값으로 직선적으로 감소하였으며 0.4 mol% 범위의 Ta2O5 및 Nb2O5 첨가에 의해 -7 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ 까지 직선적으로 감소하였다.
