  • Piccolo-128 is a 64-bit ultra-light block cipher suitable for the constrained environments such as wireless sensor network environments. In this paper, we propose biclique cryptanalysis on the full Piccolo-128. To recover the secret key of Piccolo-128, the proposed attack requires $2^{24}$ chosen plaintexts and the computational complexity of about $2^{127.35}$. This result is the first known theoretical attack result on the full Piccolo-128.

  • While in the past map-making process by field survey devices such as MicroStation needs more time relatively, we can make more precise map effectively with airbone LiDAR and GPS devices. Also the data, captured by LiDAR, are very large in size and so it needs to use Relational DBMS to manage and process LiDAR data. In this study we propose how to store and manage LiDAR data using RDBMS.

  • This article is divided into five chapters: chapter I is the introduction on the subject under examination; chapter II is devoted to explaining the phenomenon of concentration of capital. The writer has attempted here to show the degree of capital concentration in Korean shipping in 1974 and 1979 and made a comparison with that of the selected leading maritime nations; chapter III has been devoted to the economies of scale and the optimum size of shipping firm, firstly introducing empirical studies of the British shipping firms, which had been conducted by American and British economists in the early 1960's, and secondly made a survey of Korean shipping activity during 1974-1979 in terms of economies of scale; chapter IV deals with the reasons of concentration of shipping in light of recent advances of ship technology; chapter V sets forth conclusion.

  • In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.

  • Ferry Golden Jindo collided with Ferry Princess near the No.7 light buoy of Incheon Port No.1 Passage in restricted visibility due to dense fog. The result was that Ferry Golden Jindo got a hole at the starboard midship section shell plating and Ferry Princess sustained damages at the starboard bow and 25 persons injured The aim of this paper is to investigate this collision accident, to clarify its causes, and to prevent such accident from occurring again In short, this collision resulted from Princess' high speed in restricted visibility, Golden Jindo's carelessness of watchkeeping, lack of proper safety training of crew, lack of instruction of supervisor, carelessness af PTMS Center and indifference of Korea Shipping Association, etc.

  • The observations of rapid motion of bubbles under water for approximately 50ms or less in high . magnetic fields of 10 T have been carried out successfully for the first time. The observation system constructed is composed of a high-speed video camera, a telescope, a cryostat with a split-type superconducting magnet, a light source, a mirror and a transparent sample cell. Using this system, the influence of magnetic field on the path and shape of single bubbles of $O_2$(paramagnetism) and $N_2$ (diamagnetism) has been examined carefully. Experimental values describing the path are in good agreement with theoretical values calculated on the basis of the magneto-Archimedes effect, despite the effect of magnetism on the bubble. However, no effect of magnetism on the shape of the bubble is observed In addition, the influence of magnetic field on drag coefficient of the bubble is discussed.

  • The routes of coastal passenger ships are important in the light of both economic and social view point. Islands around the Korean peninsular can be actually dominated by linking them with land by the ships. The service quality of the route is not high enough to satisfy habitants in the islands. The income of the service-users is increasing so that they expect better service in terms of ship's speed and cabin. The reality is not, however, good to motivate ship-owners to replace aged ships with new and large ones. The situation is caused by low passenger-fare and inefficient management. Therefore the fare should be raised and the fare system should be innovated. And the number of passenger ship companies should be reduced from 42 to 20 by merger and acquisition.

  • This study developed an optimization model, defined as the IPS (Itinerary for Passenger Satisfaction), for a cruise ship to identify an itinerary that maximizes passenger satisfaction. A 0-1 integer programming model was developed to provide an optimal sequence of ports of call, assigning a destination to each day of the cruise. The concepts of the destination access network and the neighborhood of a destination were designed and manipulated to organize the complex network of destinations so that each next destination is selected within a practical overnight sail. The developed model can also be viewed as a reduced variant of the traveling salesperson problem with less constraints. A set of example tests shows that practical scenarios of the IPS with moderate cruise duration can be easily solved with light computation loads. Considering cruise ship passengers usually make their decisions not relying on only one destination but on an itinerary in its entirety, the purpose of this study was to identify itinerary alternatives to attract potential cruise passengers for attaining maximum occupancy level.

  • In light of the unprecedented occupational health and safety concerns that have been raised in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of seafarers' mental health has been significantly underlined. Despite the fact that there has been a significant amount of research on the psychological threats of seafarers' mental health, mutual cooperative actions on this issue have not been properly coordinated among seafarers' relevant bodies and stakeholders in APEC region. This paper introduces the APEC SEN's initiatives that have been undertaken to improve the mental health of seafarers, in collaboration with medical professionals, seafarers' unions, maritime administrations, and other stakeholders, through the development of training programmes and materials for both seafarers and modulators, resulting in a more effective approach to mental healthcare promotion.

  • IALA Guideline 1132 is intended to assist authorities in implementing the procedures described in IALA Recommendation R1012: VTS Communications with the objective of harmonizing VTS communications through the use of standard message structure and phraselogly. For this reason, it is recommended that VTS Authorities put adequate procedures in place to ensure its consistent and correct implementation for the actual VTS operation as is now being considered in IALA as part of the VTS English language proficiency test. In light of the 2022 publication of IALA Guideline 1132: VTS Voice Communications and Phraseology, in this sense, the potential evaluative variables will be studied in the context of this presentation.
