Environmental Perception, Ethical Consumer Behavior, and Price Sensitivity: Impact on Using Intention of Eco-Friendly Products

  • Purpose - This study aims to identify the effect of corporate eco-friendly marketing, which focuses on corporate social responsibility, on the environment, natural preservation and protection, and environmental concern among consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 92 valid questionnaires were used for analysis. A structured model was established and a 3-step mediated regression test was employed to see how consumers' perception of ethical consumer behavior and price sensitivity are influential in relation to the impact of consumer's perception of eco-friendliness on the using intention in relation to eco-friendly products. Results - Three factors of eco-friendly perception all have a positive impact on ethical consumer behavior, thus lowering their price sensitivity. In particular, it is found that environmental knowledge and environmental concern are important to promote ethical consumer behavior. Conclusion - It is found that, to increase the using intention of eco-friendly products, an enterprise should practice an eco-friendly marketing strategy, deliver eco-friendly related knowledge, and include contents to allow consumers to take an interest in the environment for effective performance of marketing.

  • Ultimate goals in vehicle design can be summarized as environment-friendliness and safety. Along with these requirements, the importance of natural environment conservation has been focused lately. Therefore, reduced emission from vehicle and improved efficiency has become the top priority projects throughout the world. CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) of the advanced composite materials as structure materials for vehicles, has a widely application in lightweight structural materials of air planes, ships and automobiles because of high strength and stiffness. This study is to investigate the energy absorption characteristics of CFRP hat-shaped section members under the axial impact collapse test. The CFRP hat-shaped section members which manufactured from unidirectional prepreg sheets were made of 8plies. The axial impact collapse tests were carried out for each section members. The collapse mode and energy absorption characteristics were analyzed for CFRP hat-shaped section member according to the interface numbers(2, 3, 4, 6 and 7).

A Study on Surface Fabrication of Super Hydrophobic using Pico Second Laser (피코초 레이저를 이용한 초소수성 표면 제작에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, a study for the functional surface production of super hydrophobic of natural and biomimetic artificial has attracted much attention. To make process methods of super hydrophobic surface has a variety of ways such as lithography, etching, and laser ablation. However, we were used ultra-shot pulse laser ablation process which has the virtue of more environmental friendliness and simple process. In this paper, we were fabricated a multiplicity of super hydrophobic patterns on mold surface(NAK80) using by optimizing the laser processing conditions and it was transferred on PDMS. Also, we measured contact angle super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS. The result showed there is no patterns on PDMS were measured 94 degrees, by contrast, optimized super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS was 157 degrees. Therefore we fabricated super hydrophobic surface on mold. Based on these experimental results, it is possible to mass production using ultra shot pulse laser ablation of super hydrophobic pattern and to be applied for a variety of industries.

Estimating Esthetic Values of Agricultural Landscape Affected by Socioeconomic Characteristics (사회경제적 특성과 전문성에 따른 농촌경관의 심미적 가치 평가의 차이)

  • Numerous developments have damaged agricultural landscapes and consequently agricultural areas have lost the amenity and their traditional culture. Despite the fact that damaged agricultural landscape is irreversible, precautionary policies for conserving agricultural landscapes in Korea have not been established properly. Meanwhile, social demands for well preserved rural landscapes have increased. This study, thus, aims to evaluates esthetic values of agricultural landscapes in order to prepare the basis for the formulation of properly informed policies. Bearing in mind the purpose of the study, firstly, present status of agricultural landscapes has been surveyed. Secondly, agricultural landscape values were estimated in friendliness, ruralness, and preference with 30 selected slides and 4 computer simulated pictures out of 305 pictures. The survey has been carried out with two student's groups of the landscape architecture majored (50 people) and the ordinary majored (68). The results implicated that agricultural landscape preferences has not been changed for 10 years to some extent. However, landscape majored respondents showed low preferences on the artificial creatures than the non-majored. Lastly, Recommendations for the agricultural landscape policy was made that the necessary developments should be considers form, colour, location, and size according to the natural landscape.

  • This study was carried out to review the characteristics of the Swedish modern furniture design and the works of Bruno Mathsson, who is appreciated as one of the most important furniture designers in the history of modern Swedish design. First, the authors examined how the Swedish designers set the value of warm, graceful humanity, practical simplicity, and the traditional craftsmanship in their furniture design with modernist ideology. Second, by examining the range of Bruno Mathsson's works from the 1930s to the 1980s, the authors searched for how these works show the realized models of the ideals of Swedish modern furniture. In this, this article explains that Mathsson's works and the modern Swedish furniture could have been regarded and beloved as being innovative and modern for more than 50 years for their friendliness to human body by the ergonomic structure and to human feeling by the quality of natural materials and finishes. In addition, their consistent effort to adopt traditional craftsmanship into functionalist ideals of modern design shows how these furniture designs could have keep the lasting quality in the life of people in different time frames.

Characteristics of Lohas Fashion Represented Green Design in 2000's (2000년대 그린디자인에 나타난 로하스(Lohas)의 패션특성 분석)

  • Recently, the environmental problems have surfaced as serious social issues. More people become aware of the environments and seek for new kinds of lifestyle Lohas. The purpose of this study was to investigate the expressional characteristics of Lohas fashion design in ready-to-wear collection from 2000 till 2005. In the study, green design which was the base of Lohas fashion, was first examined, which was followed by an analysis of Lohas styles to understand the green design-oriented characteristics of Lohas fashion in the current fashion trends. The findings were as follows: First, the lifestyle of Lohas values 'environment-friendliness', 'sustainability', 'importance of health' and 'sensitivity'. Second, the distinguishing features of Lohas lifestyle categorize the Lohas fashion into five different looks: 'Lohas Natural Look', 'Lohas Vintage Look', 'Lohas Redesign Look', 'Lohas Multi look', and 'Lohas Wellness Look'. This study set out to provide useful results to be used as the basic data in studying design and related areas where they would develop fashion products for the consumers with the latest tastes as well as to promote environment protection.

Evaluating the Official Websites of SAARC Countries on their Web Information on Food Tourism

  • The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations are a potpourri of diverse religions, races and cultures with rich natural and cultural heritage but yet to tap the full potential of tourism. An investigation into the glorifying heritage of these eight SAARC nations pinpoints towards their rich food and culinary heritage that is yet to be explored to carve them as food destinations that would definitely help ameliorating tourism too. The Global Report on Food Tourism of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reveals results from a survey on food tourism marketing promotion, from which internet marketing tools, such as websites have been effectively utilized to promote food tourism in a particular destination. (UNWTO, 2012). Sensing the importance of the websites in the promotion of food tourism for any destination, the present study aims at the comparative content analysis of the official tourism websites of SAARC nations to evaluate their performance from the perspective of promotion of culinary heritage on world -wide web. The modified Balanced ScoreCard (BSC) approach is incorporated into the evaluation by taking into consideration four perspectives: technical, user friendliness and site attractiveness, tourism effectiveness and food tourism effectiveness. A set of 88 critical success factors representing these four perspectives is then used to examine the websites. The study reflects on the relative strength and weakness of the tourism websites of SAARC nations in promoting food tourism and as well help suggesting the remedial measures catalyzing the food tourism promotion through websites.

Preparation of V2O5-Graphene Composites using Aerosol Process for Supercapacitors Application (에어로졸 공정을 이용한 오산화바나듐(V2O5)-그래핀 복합체 제조 및 슈퍼커패시터 응용)

  • Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5) has been emerged as alternative electrode materials for supercapacitors due to their low cost, natural abundance, and environmental friendliness. Graphene (GR) loaded with V2O5 can exhibit enhanced specific capacitance. In this study, we present three-dimensional (3D) crumpled graphene (CGR) decorated with V2O5. The V2O5-graphene composites were synthesized from a colloidal mixture of graphene oxide (GO) and Ammonium metavanadate (NH4VO3), via aerosol spray drying and post heat treatment process. The average size of composite was ranged from 1.82 to 4.6 ㎛. Morphology of the composite changed from a crumpled paper ball to spherical ball having relatively smooth surface as the content of V2O5 increased in the composites. The electrochemical performance of the V2O5-graphene composites was examined. The V2O5-graphene composite electrode showed the specific capacitance of 312 F/g. In addition, the device possessed acceptable cyclic stability, with 84% after 2000 cycles at 2 A/g. These outstanding properties are expected to make the composites prepared in this study as promising electrode materials for supercapacitor applications.

Taiwan Agricultural Ecosystem Plant Investigation Methodology for Evaluating Agricultural Ecosystem Services

  • Farming practices that balance environmental friendliness with biodiversity are increasingly valuable. Wild plants on farmlands compete for nutrients with crops and create a crucial microhabitat and resources for animals such as natural enemies. Investigating farmlands and their surrounding plants with limited human and material resources has become an essential aspect of evaluating the agricultural ecosystem services. This study investigated plants in six agricultural long-term ecological research sites in Taiwan from 2017 to 2020 to determine the ideal season for investigation. Cluster analysis was performed to group habitats with similar plant composition, and the species-area curves of the clusters in each season were created. The results indicated that the agricultural ecosystem could be divided into farmlands, banks, orchards, and tea gardens. The habitats were divided into farmland, bank, Chia-Yi orchard, Gu-Keng orchard, and tea garden clusters. Ground plant cover can be investigated all year with at least 18 quadrats. However, if human and material resources are limited, 10 quadrats should be the minimum for farmlands in autumn and for the other microhabitats in spring. The minimum number of quadrats is 10 for banks, 17 for orchards, and 9 for tea gardens.

Potentiality of urban forest roads as an environment for enhancing physical fitness (건강증진 환경 조성을 위한 도시근교 임도의 활용 가능성)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the potentiality of urban forest roads as an environment for enhancing physical fitness. Six male university students participated in the study as subjects. The subjects walked on an urban forest road for 30 minutes. As a control experiment, they also walked on a national park trail for 30 minutes. Subjects' heart rates were monitored during the walks to calculate the ratio of the average time their heart rates were within the target range (from 60% to 80% of the maximal heart rate) for Enhancing Physical Fitness. After the walks, images of the spaces were analyzed using the semantic differential (SD) method. During the walk on the urban forest road, subjects' heart rates were within the target range 63.3% of the time, and lower than the target range 36.7% of the time. During the control experiment on the national park trail, subjects' heart rates were within the target range only 23.3% of the time, and higher than the target range 76.7% of the time. From the spatial perception evaluation using the SD method, subjects' comfortable and natural feelings when they were on the national park trail were significantly greater than when they were on the urban forest trail, but there were no differences in terms of other SD descriptors, such as friendliness and likeability. The results of our study indicate that the urban forest road provides a good environment for walking to enhance physical fitness. Although not as close to nature as national park trails, urban forest roads offer similar natural environments and have a high potentiality for serving as leisure spaces for urban residents who seek physical activities.
