Influences of carbonaceous ingredient as a solid lubricant in automotive friction materials on friction properties were studied. Three types of carbonaceous ingredients such as natural graphite, artificial graphite, and cokes were mixed using a constrained mixture design. A 1/5 scale brake dynamometer was used to obtain tribological properties. Results showed that cokes substantially increased the friction coefficient, and natural graphite effectively reduced stick-slip phenomena. This significant difference was attributed to the formation of the friction film on the brake pad which was shown to be strongly dependent on the graphite types. The different crystal structures of the carbonaceous solid lubricants played a significant role in the formation of friction film at the interface.

In Indonesia, Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren and Cryptotermes cyanocephalus Light termite attacks can damage wood and causing losses of 8.7 trillion rupiah per year. Wood treatment and soil barrier are very important to protect structures and their components from termite infestation. The application of synthetic chemicals that pose risks to the environment and human health. The growing movement to replace these chemicals with new termiticides that are safe for the environment in place of persistent organic pollutants. Efficacy performance in entomopathogenic fungi spores such as that produce decanoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, palmitic acid, and octadecadienoic acid are potential compounds that provide for ecofriendly termite control. Entomopathogenic fungal spores from Metarhizium anisopliae, Trichoderma harzianum, and Beauveria bassiana, as the active ingredient were formulated with nanocellulose was added as an inert ingredient to which helped to deliver the active ingredients on controlling the target pest, and enhance the utility ability of the product fungi to control termites. The mortality of these termites successively entomopathogenic fungi was the main cause of death. The higher concentrations being associated with of nanocellulose used affect increased the number of termites mortality. M. anisopliae paired with 60% nanocellulose concentrate was the best percentage for yielded the greatest C. curvignathus and C. cynocephalus termite control. In the field testing, M. anisopliae provided better, it showed the finest result of termite control rather than B. bassiana and T. harzianum. The results of the research indicate that entomopathogenic fungi can be used for Pest Control Management as the subterranean termite and drywood termite control.

In this study, four compounds isolated from the red alga Laurencia snackeyi were evaluated for their potential anti-inflammatory effect in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. These compounds were tested for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Since $5{\beta}$-hydroxypalisadin B showed the best activity it was further tested for the production of prostaglandin-$E_2$ ($PGE_2$), expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines tumor necrotic factor-alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$), interleukin-$1{\beta}$ (IL-$1{\beta}$), and interleukin-6 (IL-6). $5{\beta}$-Hydroxypalisadin B significantly reduced the $PGE_2$ release and suppressed the iNOS and COX-2 expression in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. It also significantly reduced the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\beta}$, and IL-6. These findings provide the first evidence of anti-inflammatory potential of $5{\beta}$-hydroxypalisadin B isolated from the red alga L. snackeyi and hence, it could be exploited as an active ingredient in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and functional food applications.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to determine the exposure risk to tattoo components by analyzing skin absorption using the in vitro method. Tattoos are commonly used for cosmetic purposes, and the skin of not only the operator but of the people who are undergoing the cosmetic procedure is continuously exposed to hazardous chemicals. Methods: Skin permeation risk determination was conducted by the in vitro Franz diffusion cell method according to the ingredient types of tattoo dyes, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), non-volatile organic compounds and heavy metals, using hairless mouse full skin and human cadaver epidermis. Results: The major components with good skin penetration for each type of tattoo dye ingredient were clarified. Among the tatto dye ingredients, 1,2-Dichlorobenzene, Zn, Al, Pb and Ti showed good skin penetration. Most of the skin transmission rates were higher in hairless mouse full skin than in human cadaver epidermis. Conclusion: A possible exposure risk to hazardous substances in tattoo dyes was confirmed from this study. These results are expected to provide a positive contribution to the establishment of management regulations for tattoo dyes.

This study was attempted to investigate the availability of nipa palm (Nypa fruticans Wurmb.) and finger root (Boesenbergia pandurata) extracts as natural cosmetic ingredients. For this, O/W cosmetic formulations with different compositions were prepared. The appearance of the cosmetic formulations was compared, and brightness and color values were measured using a colorimeter. Also, the pH, viscosity, and texture of the cosmetic formulations with different compositions were measured, and the effects of the extracts on the properties of the cosmetic formulations were examined. Finally, the UV transmittance and sun protection factor (SPF) index were observed, and the results confirmed the availability of finger root extract as a natural ingredient for UV protection.
Natural colorants haute attracted much attention all over the world because of their non-hazardous nature. The world is becoming increasingly aware of environmental Issues, such as ozone layer depletion, water pollution and waste disposal problems. The use of synthetic dyestuffs for their synthesis and application in the dyeing industries has been criticized due to introduction of contaminants into the environment. This has led to the desire to turn to the traditional, and more natural way of life. In this study, the colorants of extract of Ginkgo biloba bark were analysed and their dyeing properties on silk, wool and cotton were studied. It was found that uv-visible absorption spectra of extract of Ginkgo biloba bark showed two strong absorption Peaks in the range of 240 ∼400 In. From the result of IR spectra, the major ingredient of extract of Gikgo biloba bark seems to be the flavon which is one of the flavonoid derivatives. Silk, wool, and cotton dyed with the extract of Ginkgo biloba bark showed a reddish yellow color. Their color differences were increased drastically with repetition of dyeing by three times.
Acetaminophen (APAP) known as paracetamol is the main ingredient in Tylenol, which has analgesic and anti-pyretic properties. Inappropriate use of APAP causes major morbidity and mortality secondary to hepatic failure. Overdose of APAP depletes the hepatic glutathione (GSH) rapidly, and the metabolic intermediate leads to hepatocellular death. This article reviews the mechanisms of hepatotoxicity and provides an overview of current research studies. Pharmacokinetics including metabolism (activation and detoxification), subsequent transport (efflux)-facilitating excretion, and some other aspects related to toxicity are discussed. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)-regulated gene battery plays a critical role in the multiple steps associated with the mitigation of APAP toxicity. The role of Nrf2 as a protective target is described, and potential natural products inhibiting APAP toxicity are outlined. This review provides an update on the mechanism of APAP toxicity and highlights the beneficial role of Nrf2 and specific natural products in hepatoprotection.
Kyonin(Armeniacae Semen)is the herb medicine that contains amygdalin as a major ingredient. Amygdalin in water is decomposed into benzaldehyde. HCN. and glucose by emulsin. a hydrolysis enzyme in kyonin. A useful and practical method for the optimum extraction condition of amygdalin without enzymatic hydrolysis is required. The extraction yield of amygdalin of natural formula kyonin was 0.5% from crude powers. 0.7% from small pieces. 1.2% from half pieces and 2.7% from whole pieces. (omitted)
This report is on a scientific investigation of 3 pairs of 금제태환이식 which were excavated from 황남대총 납분. 태환 is a main part of 태환이식 and it could be classified with 4 types in how to produce, especially how many the golden petal was used. In this investigation, they,3 pairs of 금제태환이식 from 황남대총 남분, were in 3 of 4 types and also I could find that this result was not on the technical progress but on the ingredient of metal. Also, In the result of ingredient assay, I could find that although they were in one pair of 태환 one piece was made in gold and silver alloy and the other piece was made in 99.5 percent of pure Ag with gold amalgam plating. And the another pair was getting red from others because of making in 33percent of Ag and 77 percent of gold, high Ag content. And All pairs of 태환 have a small quantity of Copper. As above, although they are one pair they have the difference of how to produce and the difference of volume and ingredient content, it means that these pairs of 태환 from 황남대총 남분 were made in pressure of time. From now on, if we investigate the ingredient and how to produce of 태환이식 in the local comparative analysis, namely natural science method, we can find out the metal art technique and the social aspect of the ancient times as not analogical inference but scientific basis.
