와이브로의 초기인증에 적합한 명세기반의 침입탐지시스템 (Specification-based Intrusion Detection System for the Initial Authentication Phase of WiBro)

  • IEEE 802.16e 표준을 기반으로 하는 와이브로(WiBro) 서비스는 순수 국내 기술로 개발된 초고속 무선 휴대인터넷 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 와이브로 초기인증 단계에서 생길 수 있는 보안취약점을 분석하고 그러한 보안위협을 대상으로 한 공격을 탐지할 수 있는 명세기반의 침입탐지시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 침입탐지시스템은 PKMv2 EAP-AKA 기반의 정상적인 초기 인증 동작방식을 명세화하여 상태전이머신으로 모델링한 후 명세에 기반한 침입탐지를 실시한다. 본 논문에서는 초기인증 과정에서 발생 가능한 다섯 가지의 공격들을 시나리오로 모델링하고, 시나리오 기반의 실험을 실시하여 제안된 침입탐지시스템의 탐지성능을 검증한다.

  • In this paper, we deal with a new techno-economic modeling and analysis for optical access networks. In deploying the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) architecture, network planner needs to consider the following techno-economic issues: when do we need to upgrade existing local access network to FTTH network? how much do we invest to maximize profit? In order to answer these techno-economic questions, we need to consider the impact of emerging technologies and business environment. Toward this end, we develop a new techno-economic modeling to deal with the inherent complexity of technology evolution and cost economics. In particular, the new modeling approach provides us with an techno-economic analysis of technology alternatives such as ethernet passive optical network (E-PON) and wavelength division multiplex passive optical network (WDM-PON). In this analysis, we focus on the impact of critical factors such as the cost characteristic of proposed architecture and digital subscriber line (DSL) subscriber's churn-in to FTTH service and churn-out. We develop mixed integer-programming models for finding the evolution path of local access networks to broadband network architectures.

Internet Information Orientation: The Link to National Competitiveness on Internet

  • Recently, the web index of Korea peaked at the top 10 among the eighty six countries, and Korea became the only Asian country ranked at the top level. Korea also has been on the top in the field of Internet penetration rate, in terms of both high-speed broadband and wireless Internet. However, such achievements did not guarantee the national level for the effective use of information utilizing Internet. According to OECD, the national informatization index of Korea has not been free from the middle of the OECD countries. Despite of the heightened pressure in practically enhancing effective information use utilizing Internet, the previous research interests and efforts to develop the Internet-related framework or to identify Internet capabilities rarely existed. The study aims to propose the framework, named "Internet Information Orientation" that illustrates the relationship between Internet capabilities and national competitiveness on Internet. The research identified the specific Internet capabilities, reclassified the capabilities based on the research issues provided at the 6th international conference on Internet held in December 2014, and finally described the rigorous research endeavors on the issues. As a result, 16 papers presented and selected as the outstanding papers at the conference handle issues to be brought together, which include: Wireless Network, Internet of Things, Green Computing, Multimedia Processing, Big Data and Text Mining, Database in Cloud Environment, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, IT Strategy & Policy, and Social Network Services.

Performance Analysis of Buffer Aware Scheduling for Video Services in LTE Network

  • Recent advancements in broadband wireless communication technologies enable mobile users to receive video streaming services with various smart devices. The long term evolution (LTE) network provides high bandwidth and low latency for several emerging mobile applications. This paper proposes the buffer aware scheduling (BAS) approach to schedule the downlink video traffic in LTE network. The proposed BAS scheme applies the weighting function to heuristically adjust the scheduling priority by considering the buffer status and channel condition of UE so as to reduce the time that UE stays in the connected state without receiving data. Both of 1080P and 2160P resolution video streaming sources were applied for exhaustive simulations to examine the performance of the proposed scheme by comparing to that of the fair bandwidth (FB) and the best channel quality indicator (CQI) schemes. The simulation results indicate that the proposed BAS scheme not only achieves better performance in power saving, streaming delivery time, and throughput than the FB scheme while maintaining the similar performance as the best CQI scheme in light traffic load. Specifically, the proposed scheme reduces streaming delivery time and generates less signaling overhead than the best CQI scheme when the traffic load is heavy.

CBRS 서비스를 위한 FSS 지구국 주파수 공동사용 (Frequency Sharing with FSS Earth Stations for CBRS Services)

  • FCC (Federal Communications Commission)는 해군 레이더 및 고정지구국 제1 업무로 사용하고 있는 3.5 GHz (3,550 - 3,700 MHz) 대역을 공동사용으로 CBRS (citizen broadband radio service) 시스템이라는 스몰셀의 저전력망 구축이 가능하도록 규정을 제정하였다. CBRS를 위한 공동사용 기술은 3-tiered SAS (spectrum access system)에 기반하여 하위계층 유저로부터 상위계층 유저를 보호하고 가용 스펙트럼을 최적으로 이용할 수 있어 국내에서도 적극적으로 CBRS 도입을 검토하기 시작하였다. 그러나 3.5 GHz 대역은 국내에서 이미 5G용으로 할당되어 있어, 본 논문에서는 3,700 - 5,000 MHz 대역에서 주파수 공동사용 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과 3.8 GHz 대역(3,800 - 3,900 MHz)이 FSS(fixed satellite service)용으로 한정되어 있어, 주파수 공동사용이 가능한 대역으로 검토되었으며 FSS 지구국에 미치는 간섭분석을 수행하여 국내의 CBRS 도입을 모색하고자 한다.

배전자동화시스템의 실시간 감시를 위한 광대역 전력선통신용 유도성 커플러 설계 (Design of an Inductive Coupler for Broadband Powerline Communication for Real-Time Monitoring of Distribution Automation System)

  • 본 논문에서는 광대역 전력선통신을 실현할 수 있는 유도성 커플러를 Fe계 나노결정립 합금을 이용하여 제작하고 성능을 분석하였다. 배전자동화시스템의 주상 및 지상개폐기에 적용하여 현장시험을 수행한 결과, 광대역 전력선통신의 주요 주파수대역에서 제작된 커플러는 분기 유무에 따라 통신속도의 차이는 있으나 비교적 우수한 데이터통신을 달성하는 것으로 측정되었다. 또한, 배전선로에서 발생되는 대전류 환경에서도 통신거리에 따라 전송률의 차이는 있으나 실시간 데이터 전송이 가능한 통신속도를 유지하는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 제작된 유도성 커플러는 접근성이 낮은 지역에 위치한 배전자동화시스템의 배전설비 상시 감시 및 원격제어에 활용함으로써 지능형 전력망 실현을 위한 핵심소자로 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Efficient Key Management Protocol for Secure RTMP Video Streaming toward Trusted Quantum Network

  • This paper presents an achievable secure videoconferencing system based on quantum key encryption in which key management can be directly applied and embedded in a server/client videoconferencing model using, for example, OpenMeeting. A secure key management methodology is proposed to ensure both a trusted quantum network and a secure videoconferencing system. The proposed methodology presents architecture on how to share secret keys between key management servers and distant parties in a secure domain without transmitting any secrets over insecure channels. The advantages of the proposed secure key management methodology overcome the limitations of quantum point-to-point key sharing by simultaneously distributing keys to multiple users; thus, it makes quantum cryptography a more practical and secure solution. The time required for the encryption and decryption may cause a few seconds delay in video transmission, but this proposed method protects against adversary attacks.

  • 본 논문은 대용량을 요구하는 멀티미디어와 같은 스트리밍 서비스등 이에 관한 품질을 사용자의 요구에 따라 빠르게 요구 대역폭을 할당하고 보장하기 위한 광대역폭 기반의 응용지원을 위한 DCN(Dynamic Circuit Network)을 구축 및 검증하는 내용을 기술 하였다. 이를 위해 GMPLS, RSVP, OSPF등의 기술을 기반으로 2계층의 LSP를 동적으로 할당할 수 있게 하였으며, WBUI(Web-based User Interface)를 통해 사용자의 요구를 받아서 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 하였고, Iperf를 통해 요구 대역폭 할당과 보장을 검증한다.

인공 신경망에 의한 6개 어종의 음향학적 식별 (Acoustic Identification of Six Fish Species using an Artificial Neural Network)

  • The objective of this study was to develop an artificial neural network (ANN) model for the acoustic identification of commercially important fish species in Korea. A broadband echo acquisition and processing system operating over the frequency range of 85-225 kHz was used to collect and process species-specific, time-frequency feature images from six fish species: black rockfish Sebastes schlegeli, black scraper Thamnaconus modesutus [K], chub mackerel Scomber japonicus, goldeye rockfish Sebastes thompsoni, konoshiro gizzard shad Konosirus punctatus and large yellow croaker Larimichthys crocea. An ANN classifier was developed to identify fish species acoustically on the basis of only 100 dimension time-frequency features extracted by the principal components analysis (PCA). The overall mean identification rate for the six fish species was 88.5%, with individual identification rates of 76.6% for black rockfish, 82.8% for black scraper, 93.8% for chub mackerel, 90.6% for goldeye rockfish, 96.9% for konoshiro gizzard shad and 90.6% for large yellow croaker, respectively. These results demonstrate that individual live fish in well-controlled environments can be identified accurately by the proposed ANN model.

신규 가입자망 기술의 경제성 평가를 위한 망 구조모형과 그 응용

  • Broadband access technologies plays an important role in the national information infrastructure. In the evolution path of the information infrastructure, the relative economics of alternative access technology is the most critical determining factor. In this paper, we discuss the economics of local loop access technologies of existing technologies, such as, ADSL, HFC, and new PLC. To do this, we suggest appropriate configuration of access network system and its associated numerical equations. To modelize access network system and drive the numerical equations, we consider the DS (Double Star) and the T&B (Tree & Brench) architecture and analyse the adequate block diagram of each access system for each technology We introduce the density of subscriber as a key variable and the equation of allocating optimal number of cell in a service area. We analyze the relative economics of local loop architecture in two different situations, that is, urban and rural. From the empirical implementation, we found that for the case of urban area, where the cost of cable and infrastructure is not necessary, there is not much difference in the cost per one subscriber. However, for the case of rural region, we found that there is remarkable difference in the cost per one subscriber among technologies. Therefore we conclude that the economics of local loop architecture is depend on the density of subscriber and existing network infrastructures. we hope that this paper contribute to the optimal technology selection of consmer, technology Providers, and government.
