Speaker identification system basically functions by comparing spectral energy of an individual production model with that of an input signal. This study aimed to develop a new speaker identification system from two parameters from the spectral energy of numeric sounds: difference sum and correlation coefficient. A narrow-band spectrogram yielded more stable spectral energy across time than a wide-band one. In this paper, we collected empirical data from four male speakers and tested the speaker identification system. The subjects produced 18 combinations of three-digit numeric. sounds !en times each. Five productions of each three-digit number were statistically averaged to make a model for each speaker. Then, the remaining five productions were tested on the system. Results showed that when the threshold for the absolute difference sum was set to 1200, all the speakers could not pass the system while everybody could pass if set to 2800. The minimum correlation coefficient to allow all to pass was 0.82 while the coefficient of 0.95 rejected all. Thus, both threshold levels can be adjusted to the need of speaker identification system, which is desirable for further study.

The WSGG-based narrow band model was employed to solve the radiative transfer equations along isothermal and non-isothermal paths through $CO_2-H_2O-N_2$ gas mixtures at 1 atm. When the WSGGM is applied for arbitrary gas mixtures by considering the multiplication property of transmissivity in overlapping bands, the number of gray gases is significantly increased. To reduce the computation time, three different regrouping methods for the gray gases are tested in obtaining the mean absorption coefficient for each gray gas group. Among them, the regrouping method by minimizing the regrouping error shows the best results. For the isothermal media, 10 gray gases show fairly good agreement with the results by statistical narrow band(SNB) model which are regarded as reference solutions. For non-isothermal media, 20 gray gases show good agreement with reference solutions.

WSGGM based low-resolution spectral model for calculating radiation transfer in combustion gases is applied to estimate self-absorption of radiation energy in one-dimensional opposed flow flames. Development of such a model is necessary in order to enable detailed chemistry-radiation interaction calculations including self-absorption. Database of band model parameters which can be applied to various one-dimensional opposed flow diffusion and partially premixed flames is created. For the validation of the model and database, low resolution spectral intensities at fuel exit side are calculated and compared with the results of a narrow band model with those based on the Curtis-Godson approximation. Good agreements have been found between them. The resulting radiation model is coupled to the OPPDIF code to calculate the self-absorption of radiant energy and compared with the results of an optically thin calculation and the results of a discrete ordinates method in conjunction with the statistical narrow band model. Significant self-absorption of radiation is found for the flames considered here particularly for the fuel side of the reacting zone. However, the self-absorption does not have significant effects on the flame structure in this case. Even in the case of the low velocity diffusion flame and the partially premixed flame of low equivalence ratio, the effects of self-absorption of radiation on the flame temperature and production of minor species are not significant.

The plume infrared signature effects at various flight conditions of aircraft were investigated for the purpose of reducing infrared signature level. The nozzle of a virtual subsonic unmanned combat aerial vehicle was designed through a performance analysis. Nozzle and associated plume flowfields were first analyzed using a density-based CFD code and plume IR signature was then calculated on the basis of the narrow-band model. Finally, qualitative information for the plume infrared signature characteristics was obtained through the analysis of the IR signature effects at various flight conditions.
The precise calculation of gas absorption coefficient in the radiative transfer equation is very important to the prediction of radiative heat transfer induced from liquid engine plume in view of base insulation design. For this purpose, the WNB model for gas absorption coefficient is described with the selection of important parameters and then the calculated results are compared with those of SNB model for validation. Total emissivity, narrow band averaged intensity and total intensity are calculated and compared to the results of SNB model. As results, the total emissivity and the total intensity are well matched within 3.1% and roughly 5 % error, respectively. Moreover, the gas modeling database is constructed with estimation of the combustion gas composition of $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ for liquid engine plume.

In this paper, we have studied a channel capacity affected by noise which produces burst errors in the ISDN(approx 140Kbps) data transmission using a existing PSTN. First, a digital communication system model to apply a subscriber line to a narrow band ISDN channel is presented. Second, the decision methodology of a channel capacity limitation whether the pdf of the noise generated by a waveform synthesizer is Pisson or Laplacian is described. As a result of the simulation, we have obtained that the Poission distributed noise is approached to the Guassian rather than the Laplacian under the same SNR condition.

The effect of power supply noise on the phase noise of a ring oscillator is studied. The power supply noise source in series with DC power supply voltage is applied to a 3 stage CMOS ring oscillator. The phase noise due to the power supply noise is modeled by the narrow band phase modulation. The model is verified by the fact that the spectrum of output of ring oscillator has two side bands at the frequencies offset from the frequency of the ring oscillator by the frequency of the power supply noise source. Simulations at several different frequency of the power supply noise reveals that the ring oscillator acts as a low pass filter to the power supply noise. This study, as a result, shows that the phase noise generated by the power supply noise is inversely proportional to the frequency offset from the carrier frequency.
Bandwidth Extension refers to restoring and expanding a narrow band signal(NB) that is damaged or damaged in the encoding and decoding process due to the lack of channel capacity or the characteristics of the codec installed in the mobile communication device. It means converting to a wideband signal(WB). Bandwidth extension research mainly focuses on voice signals and converts high bands into frequency domains, such as SBR (Spectral Band Replication) and IGF (Intelligent Gap Filling), and restores disappeared or damaged high bands based on complex feature extraction processes. In this paper, we propose a model that outputs an bandwidth extended signal based on an autoencoder among deep learning models, using the residual connection of one-dimensional convolutional neural networks (CNN), the bandwidth is extended by inputting a time domain signal of a certain length without complicated pre-processing. In addition, it was confirmed that the damaged high band can be restored even by training on a dataset containing various types of sound sources including music that is not limited to the speech.
Adaptive algorithms based on gradient adaptation have been extensively investigated and successfully jointed with active noise/vibration control applications. The Filtered-X LMS algorithm became one of the basic feedforward algorithms in such applications, but still is not fully understood. The error path model effect on the Filtered-X LMS algorithm has been under the investigation and some useful properties related stability has been discovered. We are interested in utilizing the fact that the model error caused by the way optimizing the error path model in a view point of convergence speed of Filtered-X LMS algorithm for pure tone noise suppression application without any performance loss at steady state.

The Gate-Induced-Drain-Leakage (GIDL) current with channel doping and width dependence are characterized. The GIDL currents are found to increase in MOSFETs with higher channel doping levels and the observed GIDL current is generated by the band-to-band-tunneling (BTBT) of electron through the reverse-biased channel-to-drain p-n junction. A BTBT model is used to fit the measured GIDL currents under different channel-doping levels. Good agreement is obtained between the modeled results and experimental data. The increase of the GIDL current at narrower widths in mainly caused by the stronger gate field at the edge of the shallow trench isolation (STI). As channel width decreases, a larger portion of the GIDL current is generated at the channel-isolation edge. Therefore, the stronger gate field at the channel-isolation edge causes the total unit-width GIDL current to increases for narrow-width devices.
