Phytase (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate phospho-hydrolase, EC 3.1.3.8) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phytate (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate) to release inorganic phosphate. A bacterial strain producing phytase was isolated from soil around a cattle shed. To identify the strain, cellular fatty acids profiles, the GC contents, a quinine-type analysis, and physiological test using an API 20NE kit were carried out. The strain was identified to be a genus of Pseudomonas sp. and named as Pseudomonas sp. YH40. The optimum culture condition for the maximum productivity of phytase by Pseudomonas sp. YH40 were attained in a culture medium composed of $1.0\%$ (w/v) glycerol, $2.0\%$ (w/v) peptone, and $0.2\%$ (w/v) $FeSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$. Within the optimal medium condition, the production of phytase became highest after 10 h of incubation, and the maximal phytase production by Pseudomonas sp. YH40 was observed at $37^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0.

VTS 항해에 있어서 VHF는 선박에서 단순한 통신장비로서만 기능하는 것이 아니라 중요한 항해계기로서의 기능을 수행하고 있다. 항행정보는 물론 항행의도를 교환하여 항행에 관한 의사결정을 조기에 할 수 있도록 도와주는 일들이 모두 VHF 교신을 통해서 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 VHF 교신 실패에 따른 사고 위험성을 살펴본 뒤 실제 VHF 사용실태와 그 문제점에 관하여 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 VHF 커뮤니케이션 개선방안은 물론 이를 실현하기 위한 정책방향을 제시하였다.

Ectopic pancreas is defined as an abnormally located pancreatic tissue not sufficiently connected with the normal pancreas, which rarely occurs in neonates. To our knowledge, only a few cases of ectopic pancreas have been reported in newborns in South Korea. We report a case of ectopic pancreas as the cause of intussusception and jejunal atresia in a newborn. This clinical association is extremely rare, and this is the first report in South Korea.

탑뷰 기반 주자 지원 시스템 (Top-View Based Parking Assistance System)은 차량의 전자장치 기술과 영상 기반 제어 기술을 융합하여 운전자들의 판단 및 조작 실수로 인한 경제적 손실이나 운전자들의 주차에 대한 중압감을 해소한다. 본 논문에서는 이를 구현하기 위하여 차량의 전, 후 좌, 우 네 위치에 카메라를 장착하였고 각 카메라의 높이 초점 거리, 렌즈의 종류와 지면에 대한 각 등을 공식화하여 영강-지면 좌표 모델을 개발하였다. 이를 바탕으로 추출된 영상을 확대, 축소, 회전, 조합 등의 영상처리를 이용하여 차량의 위에서 내려다보는 것과 같은 영상을 생성하는 알고리즘을 제안하고 VC++을 이용하여 소프트웨어 어플리케이션으로 개발하였다.

To create an ultra-high vacuum state at the KSTAR, the temperature of plasma facing component and vacuum vessel should be maintained at $300^{\circ}C$ and $110^{\circ}C$ respectively at a baking phase. The purpose of this research is obtaining the target baking temperatures. Experiments were performed to investigate the temperature characteristics of PFC and VV at the baking phase. Thermal network analysis was used to find heat transfer rates among PFC, VV and other components, and this analysis was verified by using the experimental data. The required heating energy of the PFC and the heating and cooling energy of the VV for the target baking temperatures were found to be 346 kW, 28 kW, and 136 kW, respectively.

Percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation has been applied in patients with various forms of chronic pain, such as facet joint pain, cancer pain and trigeminal neuralgia. A major portion of the hip joint is innervated by the articular branches of the femoral and obturator nerves. Radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the articular branches of the obturator and femoral nerves can be a good alternative treatment for patients with hip joint pain, especially in those where surgery is not applicable. A patient suffering hip joint pain due to metastatic cancer underwent multiple radiofrequency lesioning of the femoral and obturator nerves at $80^{\circ}C$ for 120 seconds, using a Racz-Finch Kit. The patient experienced about a 50% reduction in the pain, without any numbness or other side effects.
