증착방법에 따른 $NO_x$가스 감지용 $WO_3$박막센서의 특성 변화 연구 (The Sensing Characteristics of $WO_3$ Thin Films for $NO_x$ Gas Detection with the Change of Deposition Methods)

  • In order to apply WO3 thin films to the semiconducting NOx gas sensors as a sensing material, which have been expected to show good electrical properties, such as large sensitivity, rapid responsibility, and high selectivity, the fabrication method and their sensing characteristics were studied. The variations of surface morphologies, crystallographic orientations and crystallinity with the WO3 thin film growing methods thermal evaporation and DC sputtering methods were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis. As a result of sensitivity (Rgas/Rair) measurements for the 5 ppm NO2 test gas, the sensitivity values were 113 for the sputtered films and 93 for the evaporated films. It was also observed that the recovery rate of a sensing signal after measuring sensitivity was faster in the sputtered films than in the evaporated films.

  • HCCI engines take advantage of high compression ratio and heat release rate, they exhibit high efficiency in compression ignition engines. HCCI engines also utilize a lean air/fuel ratio resulting in low emissions of NOx and particulate matter(PM). The objective of this research is to determine the effects of EGR rate on the combustion processes of HCCI. For this purpose, a 4-cylinder, compression ignition engine was converted into a HCCI engine, and a heating device was installed to raise the temperature of the intake air and also to make it more consistent. In addition, a pressure sensor was inserted into each of the cylinders to investigate the differences in characteristics among the cylinders.

  • Sn과 Zn 금속을 이용해 각각 산소와 아르곤 가스를 주입한 대기압 분위기에서 열처리를 통해 $SnO_2$와 ZnO 나노박막을 형성시켰다. 나노구조로 형성된 $SnO_2$ 박막의 경우 CO 가스(5,000 ppm)에 대해 $200^{\circ}C$의 동작온도에서 약 50 %의 감도를 나타내었으며, $SnO_2$ 나노 금속산화물에 Pt 금속을 이온 코팅법에 의해 첨가한 박막의 경우에는 동작온도 $150^{\circ}C$에서 73 %의 높은 감도를 얻을 수 있었다. 순수 ZnO 나노 박막의 경우 NOx(20 ppm) 가스에 대해 낮은 감도를 나타내었으나, Cu를 이온 코팅법에 의해 첨가한 박막의 경우에는 동작온도 $200^{\circ}C$에서 90 %의 높은 감도를 나타내었다. 나노 구조가 아닌 $SnO_2$와 ZnO 박막이 가지는 CO와 NOx에 대한 가스 감도에 비해 매우 높은 감도를 가짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • 스크린 프린팅법을 이용하여 NOX 감지용 WO3 후막형 가스센서를 제조하였다. 본 실험에서는 감지막의 소성 온도에따른 감도변화 및 Ru을 첨가함으로써 감도의 증진을 중점적으로 조사하였다. 또한 NO2 50 ppm하에서 CO, H2, CH4 그리고 i-C4H10등의 가스에 대하여 cross sensitivity를 조사하였다. WO3 가스센서는 소성온도 50$0^{\circ}C$, 작동온도 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 최대감도를 얻었다. 순수한 WO3에 Ru(0.004 wt%)을 첨가시 NO2 및 NO 가스에 대한 감도가 크게 증진되었다. 그러나 순수한 WO3 센서는 Ru(0.004 wt%)이 첨가된 WO3 센서보다 더 우수한 cross sensitivity를 보였다.

  • $WO_{3}$모물질에 Pt와 $SnO_{2}$ 활성촉매를 첨가하여 수 ppm정도의 NOx를 감지할 수 있는 후막형 NOx센서를 제조하였다. 센서의 최대 감도는 $250^{\circ}C$정도에서 얻을 수 있었으나, 회복속도를 고려하여 $330^{\circ}C$에서 특성실험을 실시하였다. 기존의 $WO_{3}$를 사용한 것보다 감도, 반응 및 회복 속도가 개선되었고 또한 뛰어난 선택성과 기체흐름에 대한 안정성을 보여주었다. 농도변화에 대한 선형성이 우수하게 나타남으로 계측기에 응용가능성을 보여주었다.

  • The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is a highly-effective aftertreatment device for NOx reduction of diesel engines. Generally, the ammonia ($NH_3$) was generated from reaction mechanism of SCR in the SCR system using the liquid urea as the reluctant. Therefore, the precise urea dosing control is a very important key for NOx and $NH_3$ slip reduction in the SCR system. This paper investigated NOx and $NH_3$ emission characteristics of urea-SCR dosing system based on model-based control algorithm in order to reduce NOx. In the map-based control algorithm, target amount of urea solution was determined by mass flow rate of exhaust gas obtained from engine rpm, torque and $O_2$ for feed-back control NOx concentration should be measured by NOx sensor. Moreover, this algorithm can not estimate $NH_3$ absorbed on the catalyst. Hence, the urea injection can be too rich or too lean. In this study, the model-based control algorithm was developed and evaluated on the numerical model describing physical and chemical phenomena in SCR system. One channel thermo-fluid model coupled with finely tuned chemical reaction model was applied to this control algorithm. The vehicle test was carried out by using map-based and model-based control algorithms in the NEDC mode in order to evaluate the performance of the model based control algorithm.

  • 화재 발생으로 인한 피해 및 영향에 관해 국내에서의 연구는 미비한 상태이다. 따라서 화재 발생에 따른 연기 농도를 측정하기 위한 기기를 개발함으로 연기가 주변 지역으로 확산될 경우의 농도를 측정하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 공기질 측정 시스템은 기존의 측정기와는 달리 CO, CO2, NOx VOCs, NH3 등 총 5가지의 가스를 동시에 측정할 수 있고, 센서보호 알고리즘을 통해 높은 내구 수명을 갖는다. 또한, 모니터링 프로그램을 통해 실시간 가스 변화량을 측정하는 시스템을 구성하였다. 상용 가스 분석기와의 비교를 통해 가스농도 측정의 신뢰성을 확보하였으며, 실내 및 실외 화재실험을 통해 발화점 주변에 존재하는 가스농도 평가를 실시하여 신뢰성이 높은 데이터를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • In order to prevent drink-driving by detecting concentration of alcohol from driver's exhale breath, twenty chemical sensors fabricated. The one of purposes for sensor array which consists of those sensors is to discriminate between target gas(alcohol) and interference gases($CH_3CH_2OH$, CO, NOx, Toluene, and Xylene). Wilks's lambda was presented to achieve above purpose and optimal sensors were selected using the method. In this paper, step-wise sensor elimination based on Euclidean distance was investigated for selecting optimal sensors and compared with a result of Wilks's lambda method. The selectivity and sensitivity of sensor array were used for comparing performance of sensor array as a result of two methods. The data acquired from selected sensor were analyzed by pattern analysis methods, principal component analysis and Sammon's mapping to analyze cluster tendency in the low space (2D). The sensor array by stepwise sensor elimination method had a better sensitivity and selectivity compared to a result of Wilks's lambda method.

전자식 가솔린 엔진의 조절 방법에 관한 연구 (A study of electronic gasoline engine control technique)

  • The control technique for an electronic engine is studied. For this study an IBM-PC and a throttle body fuel injection system are selected. The computer controls fuel injection, spark timing, exhaust gas recirculation and idle speed. Fuel injection is adjusted either by a feed back signal of a zirconia $O_{2}$ sensor or programmed logic for starting, deceleration, warm ing up and idle modes. When a 3-way catalytic converter is used with the electronic engine control system, CO, THC, and NOx were reduced more than 90% simultaneously.

  • This paper is concerned with the Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine as a new concept in engines and a power source for future automotive applications. Essentially a combination of spark ignition and compression ignition engines, the HCCI engine exhibits low NOx and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions as well as high efficiency under part load.
