NoD서비스용 멀티미디어 데이터의 효율적인 저장 및 검색을 위한 하부저장 관리자의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Low-level Storage Manager for Efficient Storage and Retrieval of Multimedia Data in NOD Services)

  • 최근 NoD(News-on-Demand)에 대한 사용자의 요구가 증가함에 따라, 이러한 요구를 충족시키기 위한 많은 연구가 진행중에 있다. 그러니 뉴스 비디오 데디터는 짧은 생명주기, 앵커를 중시미으로 한 주기적 변화로인해 기존의 비디오 저장방식을 그대로 용하기가 어렵다. 이릉 위해, 본 논문에서는 NoD서비스용 멀티미디어 데이터의 효율적인 저장 및 검색을 위한 하부저장 관리자를 설계 및 구현하다. 하부 저장 관리자는 멀티미디어 객체 지체의 비디오 스트림 데이터와 색인 정보를 효율적으로 저장하고 관리하며, 텍스트 기반 검색을 위해 역화일 기법과 고차훤 특징 벡터의 색인을 위해 X-트리 구조를 제공한다. 아울러 하부 저장 관리자는 계층적인 뉴스 비디오 객체로부터 추출된 부가적인 정보들은 효율적으로 저장할 수 있는 저장 API(Application Program Interpace)와 커서를 통한 사용자의 편리한 검색을 지원하는 검색API를 제공한다. 마지막으로 하부 저장 관리자는 SHORE(Scalable Heterogeneous Object REpository) 저장 시스템을 이용하여 UNLX 운영체제 하엣 표준 C++언어를 사용하여 구현하였다. 구현하였다.

Short-Term High Expression of Interferon-Alpha Modulates Progression of Type 1 Diabetes in NOD Mice

  • Type I diabetes (T1D) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease caused by the T cell-mediated destruction of the insulin-producing ${\beta}$ cells in the pancreatic islets. The onset of T1D is the consequence of a progressive destruction of islet ${\beta}$ cells mediated by an imbalance between effector $CD4^+$ T helper (Th)1 and regulatory $CD4^+$ Th2 cell function. Since interferon-alpha (IFN-${\alpha}$) has been known to modulate immune function and autoimmunity, we investigated whether administration of adenoviralmediated IFN-${\alpha}$ gene would inhibit the diabetic process in NOD mice. The development of diabetes was significantly inhibited by a single injection of adenoviral-mediated IFN-${\alpha}$ gene before 8 weeks of age. Next, we examined the hypothesis that Th2-type cytokines are associated with host protection against autoimmune diabetes, whereas Th1-type cytokines are associated with pathogenesis of T1D. The expression of IFN-${\alpha}$ induced increase of serum IL-4 and IL-6 (Th2 cytokines) levels and decrease of serum IL-12 and IFN-${\gamma}$ (Th1 cytokines) levels. Therefore, overexpression of IFN-${\alpha}$ by adenoviralmediated delivery provides modulation of pathogenic progression and protection of NOD mice from T1D.

자기면역성뇌척수염 척수조직에서 galection-3의 발현 (Expression of galectin-3 in the spinal cords of Lewis rats andNOD mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression of galectin-3, one of beta-galactoside-binding proteins, in the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) model of Lewis rats or non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice. Western blot analysis showed that galectin-3 was weakly expressed in the spinal cords of complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA) immunized control rats. In EAE, however, galectin-3 expression was significantly increased at the peak stage(days 14 post-immunization), while it was decreased slightly at the recovery stage(day 21 post-immunization). Immunohistochemical analysis showed that galectin-3 was detected in some macrophages in demyelinating lesions of NOD mice, while galectin-3 was immunoreacted in some inflammatory cells in the perivascular cuffing in rat EAE lesions. Collectively, it is postulated that the expression of galectin-3 is significantly increased in response to neuroimmunological stimulation in the central nervous system, whereas it is weak in normal rats and mice.

Chemosensitizing effect and mechanism of imperatorin on the anti-tumor activity of doxorubicin in tumor cells and transplantation tumor model

  • Multidrug resistance of tumors has been a severe obstacle to the success of cancer chemotherapy. The study wants to investigate the reversal effects of imperatorin (IMP) on doxorubicin (DOX) resistance in K562/DOX leukemia cells, A2780/Taxol cells and in NOD/SCID mice, to explore the possible molecular mechanisms. K562/DOX and A2780/Taxol cells were treated with various concentrations of DOX and Taol with or without different concentrations of IMP, respectively. K562/DOX xenograft model was used to assess anti-tumor effect of IMP combined with DOX. MTT assay, Rhodamine 123 efflux assay, RT-PCR, and Western blot analysis were determined in vivo and in vitro. Results showed that IMP significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity of DOX and Taxol toward corresponding resistance cells. In vivo results illustrated both the tumor volume and tumor weight were significantly decreased after 2-week treatment with IMP combined with DOX compared to the DOX alone group. Western blotting and RT-PCR analyses indicated that IMP downregulated the expression of P-gp in K562/DOX xenograft tumors in NOD/SCID mice. We also evaluated glycolysis and glutamine metabolism in K562/DOX cells by measuring glucose consumption and lactate production. The results revealed that IMP could significantly reduce the glucose consumption and lactate production of K562/DOX cells. Furthermore, IMP could also remarkably repress the glutamine consumption, α-KG and ATP production of K562/DOX cells. Thus, IMP may sensitize K562/DOX cells to DOX and enhance the antitumor effect of DOX in K562/DOX xenograft tumors in NOD/SCID mice. IMP may be an adjuvant therapy to mitigate the multidrug resistance in leukemia chemotherapy.

생활계 오염원의 유기물 및 암모니아성 질소 배출특성 평가 (Characteristics of Organics and Ammonia Nitrogen Discharged by Pollution Source from Human Living)

  • The purpose of this research was to suggest the water quality improvement in streams by evaluating the distribution characteristics of organics and ammonia nitrogen discharged by pollution sources from human living. The public sewage treatment plants'(PSTPs) effluents and the waters from streams in Gyeonggi-do were sampled and analyzed. Nitrogenous oxygen demand (NOD) was measured for the stream waters as well as the PSTPs effluents, and the correlations of NOD and $NH_3$-N, $NH_3$-N and water temperature in the PSTPs effluents were confirmed. In the case of the stream waters, the ratios of NOD to BOD and $NH_3$-N increased in the downstream sites after discharging the PSTPs effluents. As a result of statistical analysis of $NH_3$-N concentrations for the national water quality monitoring streams in Gyeonggi-do, $NH_3$-N showed the non-normal distribution which were biased to the left, but showed the considerable level because of higher coefficient of variation. Therefore, it is required to establish the water quality standard for the $NH_3$-N as a new parameter for judging the quality of the streams. In addition, inducing complete nitrification and introducing a logical standard setting system are needed to improve the water quality of streams by identifying distribution of the nitrogen components from PSTPs effluents.

노령 흰쥐의 뇌허혈 손상시 양격산화탕(凉膈散火湯)이 뇌해마의 c-Fos 및 c-Jun 발현에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang on c-Fos and c-Jun Expression in Ischemic Damaged Hippocampus of Aged BCAO Rats)

  • This study investigated the effect of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang on cerebral ischemia of the rats. Considering age-related impact on cerebral ischemia, aged rats (18 months old) were used for this study. Ischemic damage was induced by the transient occlusion of bilateral common carotid arteries(BCAO) under the hypotension. Yanggyuksanhwa-tang was administered twice orally. Then changes of immunohistochemical expression of c-fos and c-jun in ischemic damaged hippocampus were observed. The BCAO in aged rats led significant increase of c-fos expression in CA1 and DG of hippocampus. While the treatment of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang significantly attenuated the increase of c-fos expression in CA1 hippocampus following BCAO ischemia. Depending on changes of the normalized optical density(NOD) of immunohistochemical c-fos expression, the treatment of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang significantly attenuated the increase of NOD in CA1 and DG of hippocampus. And there was not changes in CA2 and CA3 hippocampus with respect to the control BCAO group. The BCAO in aged rats led significant increase of c-jun expression in CA1 hippocampus. While the treatment of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang significantly attenuated the increase of c-jun expression in CA1 hippocampus following BCAO ischemia. Depending on changes of the NOD of immunohistochemical c-jun expression, the treatment of Yanggyuksanhwa-tang significantly attenuated the increase of NOD in CA1 hippocampus. And there was not changes in CA2, CA3 and DG of hippocampus with respect to the control BCAO group.

  • 본 논문은 보일러 화로내 임의의 단면에서 다수의 음속 측정기를 설치하여 음속을 측정하고 평균온도, 최고온도, 최저온도로부터 세분화시킨 격자의 온도를 구하여 온도분포를 구현하는 방법에 대한 이론적 고찰과 적용결과에 관한 것이다. 음속 측정기 간 음속을 측정하여 보일러 내부의 연소가스 온도를 측정하고 화로를 임의의 격자로 구분하여 각 격자에 해당하는 온도값을 주위 격자의 온도구배로부터 유추하여 구한 뒤 모든 격자의 온도값을 완성하여 화로의 온도분포를 구현하는 방법에 대한 이론 및 관련 시스템을 구성하고 실제 현장적용하여 결과를 분석하였다.

  • Invading pathogens are recognized by diverse germline-encoded pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) which are distributed in three different cellular compartments: extracellular, membrane, and cytoplasmic. In mammals, the major extracellular PRRs such as complements may first encounter the invading pathogens and opsonize them for clearance by phagocytosis which is mediated by membrane-associated phagocytic receptors including complement receptors. The major membrane-associated PRRs, Toll-like receptors, recognize diverse pathogens and generate inflammatory signals to coordinate innate immune responses and shape adaptive immune responses. Furthemore, certain membrane-associated PRRs such as Dectin-1 can mediate phagocytosis and also induce inflammatory response. When these more forefront detection systems are avoided by the pathogens, cytoplasmic PRRs may play major roles. Cytoplasmic caspase-recruiting domain (CARD) helicases such as retinoic acid-inducible protein I (RIG-I)/melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (MDA5), mediate antiviral immunity by inducing the production of type I interferons. Certain members of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD)-like receptors such as NALP3 present in the cytosol form inflammasomes to induce inflammatory responses upon ligand recognition. Thus, diverse families of PRRs coordinately mediate immune responses against diverse types of pathogens.

얼굴 특징점 기반의 졸음운전 감지 알고리즘 (Driver Drowsiness Detection Algorithm based on Facial Features)

  • Drowsy driving is a significant factor in traffic accidents, so driver drowsiness detection system based on computer vision for convenience and safety has been actively studied. However, it is difficult to accurately detect the driver drowsiness in complex background and environmental change. In this paper, it proposed the driver drowsiness detection algorithm to determine whether the driver is drowsy through the measurement standard of a yawn, eyes drowsy status, and nod based on facial features. The proposed algorithm detect the driver drowsiness in the complex background, and it is robust to changes in the environment. The algorithm can be applied in real time because of the processing speed faster. Throughout the experiment, we confirmed that the algorithm reliably detected driver drowsiness. The processing speed of the proposed algorithm is about 0.084ms. Also, the proposed algorithm can achieve an average detection rate of 98.48% and 97.37% for a yawn, drowsy eyes, and nod in the daytime and nighttime.
