The use of professional retirement personnel who have largely left their economic activities due to the retirement of baby boomers is a modern task and is emerging as a social issue. This study aims to explo re the perception of professional retirees' overseas volunteer experience as NGOs and seek ways to utilize pro fessional retirement personnel. This study is a qualitative study using photo-voice, and the participants in the study are retirees of retirement age from professions with experience in NGO overseas service. Data were collected through group activities and individual interviews, and data were analyzed using participatory analysis and subject analysis. The perception derived from the study was that NGO overseas service is the best job to be safe and raise the national status, and that information on this is wanted to be provided in retirement education. In conclusion, retirement education for the expansion of NGO overseas service was conducted not only in public enterprises but also in general workplaces to discuss ways to prepare before retirement, and the operation of the Retired NGO Overseas Volunteer Information Service Center was suggested. This study is meaningful in presenting basic data for preparing alternatives to social welfare policies in old age after retirement through the recognition of the experience of professional retirees in overseas NGO service

With the recent paradigm shift towards 'sustainable management', corporate social responsibility is recognized as an important factor for the continuous and long-term growth of a company. This study examines how the perception of CRM performing companies and NGOs affect attitude toward donation. In addition, it was empirically investigates how the perception of donation affects the SNS word of mouth intention. In this study, a total of 180 usable responses were obtained for analysis, and SPSS and AMOS 26.0 were used to verify the validity and hypothesis of the study. As a result of the study, it was found that validity and reliability were secured. As a result of the hypothesis testing, all the hypotheses were supported, but the effect of the perception of the company implementing CRM on the donation attitude was very weakly supported. This study suggests that raising a positive awareness of CRM-performing companies and NGOs collaborating with them is an effective strategy to increase donation attitudes and SNS word-of-mouth intentions for CRM.

Nigeria's non-government organization (NGO) libraries for the visually impaired has over the years been at the forefront of information services provision to persons with visual impairment. This study adopted a survey research design to investigate use of alternative formats and perceptions of information services to the visually impaired, focusing on two purposively chosen NGO libraries for the visually impaired in Nigeria. Using a complete enumeration approach, data were gathered from 180 users of the libraries through the use of a structured questionnaire with a reliability score (${\alpha}=0.74$). Data from 112 (62.2%) of the 180 administered copies of a questionnaire that were retrieved were analysed. The study found that Braille materials had a high level of utilization ($\bar{x}=4.46$) and were the most frequently utilized (90.9%). Perception of information services by the visually impaired was positive while use of alternative formats was significantly and positively related to users' perception of information services (r = .041; p < 0.05). The study recommends improved transcription and investment in alternative formats and in e-resources. It also recommends collaborations to widen access as well as constant evaluation of services.
Today, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are considered to be an important actor in the policy process. Based on this fact, this study aims to analyze the perception of the housing-related NGOs in Korea. Questions were prepared around two main themes: housing welfare policy and local governance. The data were collected in 11 cities where multi-party talks on housing welfare were held in April and in May 2007. The results are as follows. When it comes to housing welfare policy, housing supply should be combined with rehabilitation policy of low-income households. The roles of local government are strongly emphasized. Stabilization of housing market is important, but concrete measures should be necessary to help those who cannot participate in housing transaction. Concerning local governance issues, local government is expected to play a great role in setting up a productive policy network; NGOs are inclined to rely on public aid; An emphasis is put on professional and academic education which can make housing welfare delivery system more effective. With the questionnaire survey results, evolution and characteristics of the NGO movements in the Korean housing sector and the recent change of housing policy orientations are explained. And, strengthening communication channel between central and local actors, participation of NGOs in the various housing surveys, establishing a regular forum on the local level, and so on, are proposed in the conclusion.
The purpose of this research was to reveal how Korean food is currently perceived by the "foodies" of New York City and to determine what social status Korean food has in the city that is deemed the "Restaurant Capital of the World." In-depth personal interviews were performed to provide a deeper insight into the comments and subject matters. Most foodies selected kimchi and Korean barbecue as the most distinctive foods in Korean dining. Korean food's distinguishing traits were extracted in four areas: specific ingredients and tools, preparation procedures, and rules. Sensory characteristics, local adaptation, service, side dishes, and the main strengths and short-comings of Korean foods were investigated. Perception toward the taste of Korean food was generally positive, but poor quality of service and lack of organization in establishments were found to be negative factors.
This study was performed to investigate the perceptions of the opinion leaders, such as government officials, researchers, NGO workers, and journalists on the risks of endocrine disrupters (EDs) and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) as well as the related policies on these two hazards or potential hazards. The opinion leaders generally considered the EDs as the most serious hazard among twenty-one environmental health hazards in Korea, and agreed that the EDs would continuously be the most serious hazard. On overall average, the GMOs were ranked the 11th among the twenty-one health hazards. Further investigation indicated that the GMOs were variously ranked by the group of respondents: they were ranked the 2nd by the NGO workers, the 7th by the journalists, the 9th by the researchers and the 11th by the government officials. In general, the respondents considered the dioxin as a hazard with the highest risk while the GMOs were considered less hazardous. The opinion leaders considered that although the risks of the GMOs and EDs were not fully verified, the risks should be controlled through the legislation. The EDs and GMOs should be separately regulated for the time being, while the EDs should put under more strengthened regulation. It is recommended that a web-site containing the information on the EDs and the GMOs be prepared for the journalists. In addition, a training program in relation to the EDs and the GMOs needs to be organized by the Korean Press Foundation and the Korea Food and Drug Administration to educate the journalists. A committee consisting of government officials, scientists, and NGO workers needs to be established, and it should provide framework of future policies and public relations programs.
A substantial literatures on environmental risk perception have emerged since the late 1960s. Most these works focus on how people form risk perception, on what people believe, on difficulties in communicating information about health, safety, or environmental risks to non-experts. In this study, questionnaire surveys were conducted to sample from stakeholders(general public, environmental specialist, governmental official, non-government officials, journalist) during March and Aprils, 2000. Total number of responses was 1,803 including 773 persons of general public, 353 experts, 390 governmental officials, 111 journalists and 176 NGO members. Risk perception on 26 environmental issues were statistically analyzed to relate with the need to regulate each issues, interest and knowledge, experience of hazard, satisfaction in environmental situation, etc. This research aims to aid risk analysis and policy-making by providing a basis for understanding and anticipating group responses to environmental issues and improving the communication of risk information among general public, lay-people, technical experts, and decision-makers. This study concludes that those who are in charge of promoting and regulating health and safety of citizens should understand how people perceive about and respond to environmental risk. Without such understanding, well-intended environmental policies of governments would be ineffective.

The article analyzes the impact of factors affecting the internal control system of chemical enterprises in Vietnam, providing more empirical evidence on factors affecting the system of internal control. Research data is collected in the form of face-to-face interviews and email interviews with managers and employees working in different positions, managers at all levels, chief accountants, and accountants of 52 chemical enterprises in Vietnam. The survey results collected 310 questionnaires. After eliminating the invalid questionnaires due to many blank cells, the authors chose to use 297 questionnaires. Quantitative research was carried out with SPSS 25 software. Research results show that Business Strategy, Organizational Structure, Organization's perception of the instability of the external environment, and Organizational culture are the factors that positively affect the internal control system of chemical enterprises. This can be explained that, for chemical enterprises, Business strategy, Organizational structure, Organization's perception of the instability of the external environment, and Good organizational culture will positively impact the internal control system of chemical enterprises. Based on the research results, the authors have proposed recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the internal control system of chemical enterprises in Vietnam, thereby contributing to improving the performance of enterprises in the chemical Vietnamese.
This study examines Korean representation of the biotechnology and psychological factors which can influence lay people's perception and attitude about biotechnology. Korean college students(N=433) and lay adults(N=90) whom had college education participated in the study. Participants of the study 1 were asked to list words which comes to mind when associate with the biotechnology in broad sense, and several specific applications in health, medicines, agriculture and research. Participants of the study 2 were asked to list possible benefits and costs of biotechnology and their specific applications. In study 3, Participants responded the questionnaires about perceptions and attitudes of biotechnology. Korean people associated the biotechnology with its costs or risks and benefits. Korean college students mainly got the informations of the biotechnology from TV, newspapers, or internet. They trusted the scientist group and NGO group on their judgements about the assessment of risk and benefit of the biotechnology. College students showed the positive attitude with the applications in medicines and negative attitude with the applications in agriculture and public using of individual's genetic information. The radicalism, sensitivity in behavioral activation system, and trust/cynicism were to be found as a significant influencing factor for interest/knowledge and behavioral intention in related with biotechnology. Finally, more extensive knowledge of biotechnology did not lead to greater acceptance of it.
The "Forest Partnership" mechanism in Indonesia allows those with authority to manage forests, including Forest Management Units (KPH) and concession holders, to partner with local communities for forest management and profit sharing. The objective of this study is to identify the challenges that this new mechanism is facing and develop practical policy recommendations for its successful implementation. "Lombok Forest Partnership" is the first of its kind in Indonesia between Forest Management Unit (KPH) and a local community. The local community members participating in this partnership were surveyed for their expected outcomes, degree of their satisfaction about the process and profits sharing, as well as other factors affecting their participation. Respondents reported that they have obtained the information on Forest Partnership completely from KPH and NGO. Local peoples participated in Lombok Forest Partnership to improve their incomes, and recognized timber production as the most important income source with high possibility of success. However, timber production will require sizable initial capital investment for establishing nursery and other supporting activities, which cannot come from local communities lacking economic means. Thus, Forest Partnership would be difficult to succeed if KPH does not take the initiative to permit and promote local community to use special area and generate profits in their jurisdiction. KPH, in turn, can share the profits with local peoples. In this regard, KPH's leadership is the key factor in the success of Forest Partnership. However, KPH will need to cultivate their capacity to develop and implement income-generating business with local community. Although profit sharing ratio of timber and non-timber forest products among local community who participated in Lombok Forest Partnership was very high at 75%, and 90%, the level of satisfaction on profit sharing ratio was only average. The cooperative organized by the local community is also dealing with sensitive nature of allocating forest area internally among their members. Thus, keeping the principle of fairness, equity and transparency is the key for successful implementation of Forest Partnership mechanism. This first case of Forest Partnership can serve as a model for the future cases and provide the early lessons.
