NC공작기계 Interface의 Softwired Sepuence Control화를 위한 기초연구 (A basic study on the application of the softwired sequence control to the interface of NC mahine tool)

  • Recently in some nations, the interface of NC machine tool is by applying the softwired sequence control method which employs the PLE(Programmable Logic Controller) instead of the hardwired sequence control method. Due to this replacament, the funcion of the interface of NC machine tool has been improved in many respects. In order to accomplish such as improvement of the function of the interface and to develop the PLC, this paper deals with how to apply the sofrwired sequence control method that employs microcumputer to the interface of ATC(Automatic Tool Changer) which is a part of NC lathe.

  • This paper describes the development of Behind-Tape-Reader (BTR) type DNC system using CYBER 180-830 as a central computer and IBM PC-AT cell control computer and NC lathe with FANUC 5T NC controller. In this system, the connection between central computer and cell control computer is done via RS-232C serial interface board, and that between cell control computer and FANUC 5T controller is done via parallel interface board. The software consists of two module, central computer communication module for NC program downloading and status uploading, NC machine running module for NC operating.

  • Thermal expansion of the ball screw in semi-closed loop type CNC Lathe directly affects the position precision along the travel axis. In this paper, the thermal displacement of the ball screw is estimated by using macro variables. The estimated displacements of the ball screw are managed by calculating the interval of pitch error rate in the NC. The thermal behaviour of the ball screw of the CNC Lathe, under the constant operating conditions, was measured to examine the effectiveness of this compensation method. The results showed that thermal displacement of the ball screw could be maintained its accuracy better than 6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ while applying this method.

선삭에서 비원형 단면 가공을 위한 제어 연구 (A Learning Control Algorithm for Noncircular Cutting with Lathe)

  • A study for a lathe to machine workpiece with noncircular cross-section is presented. The noncircular cutting is accomplished by controlling radial tool position synchronized with revolution angle of the spindle according to the desired cross-sectional shape. A learning control algorithm is suggested for the tool positioning. The learning law of the algorithm is based on pole-zero cancellation, which guarantees the control stability. The control performances are analyzed and simulated on a numerical computer that the effectiveness of the control algorithm is convinced. The algorithm is tested on a conventional NC-lathe which shows some successful results.

It is basic research that develops a scheme whereby technic make property. This paper theorized about to realize Cutting Tool User Defined Module Based on Simulation which is developing CNC Software flows from building Windows XP operating system's image that is possible realtime acting and multitasking to correct. And Cutting Tool User Defined Module Based on Simulation component which was consisted of basis OS, NC Code parser, Servo Motor Control, Simulator, Man-Machine Interface.

  • The development of automatic production systems has a trend toward Computer Integrated Manufacturing System(CIMS) in recent years. In hardware configuration, CIMS are composed of intelligent CAD/CAM work stations, multifunction CNC machining centers including material handling systems. The DNC systems present the key element of automation hierarchy in a FMS. A DNC system is one which connects a number of numerically-controlled machines to a common memory in a digital computer for part program storage with provision for on-demand distribution of part program data to machines using communication in hierarchical structure of central computer, control computer and cell controller.   • This paper describes the systematic control method of process information transfer and machine cell control in FMS implementation. We have constructed an experimental FMS computer network and control system. The system hardware consists of host computer to manage process data and information transfer of machine cells, cell control computers to control machine cells(NC lathe, machining center). On the other hand, software is made up of oredr management module, NC program searching and generation module, NC part program error check module and cell control module. In this study, we could arrive at conclusion as following : The first, each task could be accomplihed by the efficient information transfer in hierachical computer network. The second, data base system of part programs and process control data is needed for the efficint information transfer and production management. Lastly, expansion of FMS control system could be achieved by the hierachical and decentralized computer control system.

  • A conversational programming system for turning processes was studied to enhance the user friendliness of a NC Lathe by adopting man-machine interface functions through Delphi programming tool under the Windows 95 environment. Functions of tool collision checking were developed through zone limitation algorithms. Final shape of workpiece was generated by means of tree structure algorithm. Shop floor programming performance was incorporated in the developed CAM module. In order to increase flexibility of the man-machine interface, graphic based programming tools have been developed. A NC turning machine equipped with an open architecture PCNC was used as a test bed of the system. Performance of the system was verified through case studies.

  • In operating automated manufacturing system, the long term stability and reliability of NC machine tools become most critical issues. Especially the machining accuracy is dominated by the thermal deformation of machine tools which remains still unsolved and causes troubles in manufacturing operations. Although researches have been carried out on the thermal behavior of a machine tools to minimize or control the thermal deformation of machine tools, the computer models for an analysis of the thermal behacior in machine tools has yet to appear in the open literature. The object of the paper is to present a method of modeling the thermal behavior of a machine tool. The method will make use of finite elements ad be capable of modeling whole machine structures as well as of heat generation processes in the kinematic system components. And temperature distributions and thermal deformations of a CNC lathe are analyzed using the finite element method and are compared with those measured in practice.

초정밀 데스크탑 마이크로 NC 선반 개발 및 성능평가 (Development and Evaluation of Ultra-precision Desktop NC Turning Machine)

  • This study introduces a recently designed desktop-sized NC turning system and its components. This machine is designed for the ultra-precise turning of parts with a diameter of 0.5-20 mm with minimum space usage for the machine. This study aims to achieve submicron-level accuracy of movements and good rigidity of the machine for precision machining using the desktop-sized machine. The components such as the main machine structure, air bearing servo spindle, and XZ stage with needle roller guides are designed, and the designed machine is built with a PC-based CNC controller. Its static and dynamic stiffness performances and positioning resolutions are tested. Through machining tests with single-crystal diamond tools, a form error less than $0.8{\mu}m$ and surface roughness (Ra) of $0.03{\mu}m$ for workpieces are obtained.
