  • The magnetic abrasive polishing (MAP), for online monitoring with AE sensor attachment, was performed in this study. To predict the surface roughness after the magnetic abrasive polishing of NAK80, the signal data acquired from the AE sensor were analyzed. A dimensionless coefficient, which consisted of average of AErms and standard deviation of AE signal, was defined as a characteristic of the MAP and a prediction model was obtained using least square method. A neural network, which had multiple input parameters from AE signals and polishing conditions, was applied for predicting the surface roughness. As a result of this study, it was seen that there was very close correlation between the AE signal and the surface roughness in the MAP. And then on-line prediction of the surface roughness after the MAP of the NAK80 was possible by the developed prediction model.

  • Generally, the machinability of materials that have a good mechanical properties is poor. The material having a high strength, high toughness in high temperature and wear resistance, it is difficult to remove a chip from workpiece. STD11 and NAK80 are kinds of these materials and these materials can be used in many industrial fields. But it is limited in use because of high cost and poor machinability. In this experimental study, the cutting of STD11 and NAK80 were used to decide the machinability and the tool shape of CBN ball end mill. From the results, the CBN ball end mill is verified that the estimated cutting edge shape of rake angle 30 degree has consistent effect on the tool wear and cutting force.

  • In this paper, we got soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC) of Nak-Dong River's sand respectively as relative density 40%, 60%, 80% and content of silt 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%. As a result, the more the sand densify in the same silt content and the more the sand has silt in the same relative density, the change of volume water content was decreased. we have known effect of silt contents for SWCC and verified existing empirical formula of SWCC. As experiment results of soil-water characteristic curves compared to the empirical solutions, the results of van Genuchten(1980) and Fredlund & Xing(1994) were well-matched showing S type curves with experiment results. Especially the empirical solution of Fredlund & Xing showed almost same results of the coefficient of correlation($R^2$) equal to 0.99.

  • Laser surface polishing is a polishing method for improving surface roughness using an integrated laser beam. Using a laser for surface polishing can improve the surface condition without physical contact or chemical action. Laser polishing has mainly been used to polish the surface of diamond or optical articles, such as lenses and glasses. Recently, diverse studies on laser polishing for metals have been conducted. The analytic study of laser surface polishing has been conducted with experimental trials for comparison, so that the proper conditions for laser polishing can be recommended. In this study, laser surface polishing was simulated in order to predict the heat-affected zone on the die steel depending on the power of the pulsed laser. The simulated results were verified by comparing them to those of the experimental trials. Through this study, therefore, the application of FEM to the selection of appropriate laser conditions could be possible.

  • Recently, a study for the functional surface production of super hydrophobic of natural and biomimetic artificial has attracted much attention. To make process methods of super hydrophobic surface has a variety of ways such as lithography, etching, and laser ablation. However, we were used ultra-shot pulse laser ablation process which has the virtue of more environmental friendliness and simple process. In this paper, we were fabricated a multiplicity of super hydrophobic patterns on mold surface(NAK80) using by optimizing the laser processing conditions and it was transferred on PDMS. Also, we measured contact angle super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS. The result showed there is no patterns on PDMS were measured 94 degrees, by contrast, optimized super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS was 157 degrees. Therefore we fabricated super hydrophobic surface on mold. Based on these experimental results, it is possible to mass production using ultra shot pulse laser ablation of super hydrophobic pattern and to be applied for a variety of industries.

  • Rice and other corns as well as potato were mixed, as indicated in the following table, and fed to the experimental animals for 14 weeks. It was observed that the 9th and 10th dietary groups, whose protein values were higher among the experimental groups, displayed the more ideal growth and development as compared with other groups, and that the mixing ratio in these groups was proved to be better nutritionally as judged from the serum protein levels. • In this study an experimental investigation was conducted to assesment of cutting ability for CBN ball end-milling, STD11 and NAK80 materials. The cutting force and surface roughness of the work-pieces were obtained in machining center. The assessment of CBN tools were inspected through the tool dynamotor and SEM. When $30^{\circ}$ negative rake angle, the wear and cutting force were good, surface roughness was better at cutting fluid during CBN cutting.

  • CNC(Computer Numerical Control) machine tools are being used in various industrial fields such as aircraft and automobiles. The machining conditions used in the mold industry are used, and the simulation and the experiment are compared. The tool used in the experiment was carried out to increase the reliability of the simulation of the cutting machining. The program used in the 3D-FEM (finite element method) was the AdvantEdge and predicted by down-milling. The tool model is used 3D-FEM simulation by using the cutting force, temperature prediction. In this study, we carried out the verification of cutting force by using a 3-axis tool dynamometer (Kistler 9257B) system when machining the plastic mold Steel machining of NAK-80. The cutting force experiment data using on the charge amplifier (5070A) is amplified, and the 3-axis cutting force data are saved as a TDMS file using the Lab-View based program using on NI-PXIe-1062Q. The machining condition 7 was the most similar to the simulation and the experimental results. The material properties of the NAK-80 material and the simulation trends reflected in the reverse design of the tool were derived similarly to the experimental results.
