In the conventional clustering algorithms, an object could be assigned to only one group. However, this is sometimes not the case in reality, there are cases where the data do not belong to one group. As against, the fuzzy clustering takes into consideration the degree of fuzzy membership of each pixel relative to different classes. In order to overcome some shortcoming with traditional clustering methods, such as slow convergence and their sensitivity to initialization values, we have used the Harmony Search algorithm. It is based on the population metaheuristic algorithm, imitating the musical improvisation process. The major thrust of this algorithm lies in its ability to integrate the key components of population-based methods and local search-based methods in a simple optimization model. We propose in this paper a new unsupervised clustering method called the Fuzzy Harmony Search-Fourier Transform (FHS-FT). It is based on hybridization fuzzy clustering and the harmony search algorithm to increase its exploitation process and to further improve the generated solution, while the Fourier transform to increase the size of the image's data. The results show that the proposed method is able to provide viable solutions as compared to previous work.

The purpose of this study is to examine symbolic meanings of costumes shown by portraits of King Henry VIII and use them as basic data for research on costume design of historical dramas in the Renaissance or on King Henry VIII's costume. This study attempted analysis of symbolic meanings from the paintings-related various domestic and overseas literatures, preliminary study paper, and web sites etc. The symbolic meanings expressed by the portraits of King Henry VIII are characterized by authority, innovation performance, authority, masculinity, innovation performance, artistic taste, intellectual charm, intrepidity and benevolence. Especially, the portraits of King Henry VIII symbolized his masculine beauty by emphasizing sexual attractiveness that cannot be seen in portraits of other kings through broad shoulders and exaggerated codpiece which are the zenith of masculine beauty during the Renaissance age. Through the image of King Henry VIII which was painted with jester or barber surgeons, his characteristic and open mind thinking highly of the technique and human life was also expressed. In the portrait of King Henry VIII, various images set in knights' tournament, playing a musical instrument and reading a book as well as the image of wearing a parliament costume were shown, highlighting King Henry VIII as a person good at both literary and martial arts with open and innovative personality than any other kings in history.

Woodcraft activities have an inseparable relationship with our daily life, and it is a field that needs to be continued because of the value of education for the growing students. The interest in woodworking from childhood to old age is rapidly expanding nowadays, therefore this study has been done to provide images to those who are engaged in woodcraft business and also those who are interested in this field. If we look at the use of wood in our daily life, We can classify it into Architecture, Civil engineering, Furniture, Musical Instrument, Packaging, Recreational instrument, Exercise instrument, Stationery, Daily commodity, and Industrial use. Among them, We examined kinds of stationery and which type of woods were used. As a result of classifying 101 stationery products in 22 countries, stationery materials using wood can be used for Business cards, Envelope houses, Box houses, Pen holders, Locker plates, Stationery baskets, Book holders, Stamps, Paper knives, Bookmarks, and Photo frames. It was found various wooden stationery are made in USA, Japan, UK, Canada etc. And the most frequently used species are hardwoods such as Walnut (Juglans regia), Maple (Acer spp.), Cherry (Prunus serotina), Birch (Betula spp.), Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), Tulip (Liriodendron tulipifera Linnaeus), Bubinga (Guibourtia tessmannii J. Leonard), Wenge (Milletia laurentii De. wild), Cocobolo (Dallbergia cultrata Grah), Zebrawood (Microberlinia brazzavillensis A. Chev.) and Ebony (Diospyros spp.).

While Janis Joplin is generally known as a hippie rock star of an untimely death to Korean audience, she is more strongly evoked in the image of blues mama in American context. Blues, definitely based on African-American vernacular tradition, is defined as a matrix, which is "a point of ceaseless input and output, a web of intersecting, crisscrossing impulses always in productive transit," to borrow Houston A. Baker's expression. This article explores how her life and music can be understood in blues tradition, especially in terms of personal and social transgression for which she was criticized, focusing on her blues performance. First of all, born and growing up in southern Texas between 1940s and 1960s, she expressed her innate suspicion against segregation and white supremacy, actively embracing rich black musical heritage of the area. Second, against the normative social and moral expectation of a middle class white woman to be a suburban housewife, she sought her own desire, whether it was professional ambition or sexual possibility. Third, beyond the selling image of a heterosexually lascivious blues mama, she dared to be a homosexual and bisexual, while it was not publically acknowledged. Along with her alcohol and drug dependence, such transgressions against normative social expectation were not made without her inner conflict, leaving a trace of trauma, hesitation, and the blues. While she was "buried alive in the blues," as a sacrifice at the altar of the 1960s, she still remains "alive" provoking "fire inside of everyone of us."

컴퓨터 하드웨어 및 멀티미디어 정보 처리 기술의 발달로 인하여 멀티미디어 정보 검색 시스템에 대한 요구가 증대되고 있다. 멀티미디어 정보 검색 시스템은 텍스트와 이미지 위주로 발전하였으나 비디오와 오디오 정보, 특히 음악 정보를 위한 멀티미디어 정보 검색 시스템에 대한 요구가 점차 증대되고 있다. 최근의 음악 정보 검색 시스템에서는 해당 음악 정보의 작곡가, 곡명 등과 같은 메타 정보만을 이용한 메타 정보 기반의 검색뿐만 아니라 음악의 내용을 기반으로 하는 내용 기반 검색까지도 가능하다. 음악의 내용 기반 검색에서는 메타 정보 기반 검색에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 문자열에 대한 패턴 매칭보다는 멀티미디어 데이타간의 유사도를 기반으로 검색한다. 본 논문에서는 음악을 일정한 선율에 따른 음들의 배합으로 정의하고, 선율을 구성하는 음의 높이와 음의 길이 정보를 복합적으로 이용하여 두 음악 정보간의 유사도를 계산하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 제안된 유사도 계산 알고리즘의 검증을 위해 동요를 대상으로 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과에 따르면 제안된 유사도 계산 알고리즘이 기존에 제안된 내용기반 음악 정보 검색 시스템과 비교하여 음악의 선율 정보를 기준으로 음악들간의 유사도를 보다 정확하게 효과적으로 계산하였다.

Opera is the most comprehensive musical art. In recent years, contemporary opera worlds has seen a variety of attempts to reinterpret operas of the past in a modern light. This has resulted in a dramatic change in the production of musical style and stage art. The purpose of the study was to modernize and streamline opera costumes by extending the scope of existing stage costume design, through the reinterpretation and application of the decorative elements in the Middle Age of Rococo, such as ruffles, frills, shirring, embroidery, buttons, etc., in such a way as to effectively communicate the moods of an opera to a modern audience. The costumes of the Rococo period were reinterpreted in a modern way, with the following results. First, in this work, the male main character was played by a bass to express the image of an older, lazy, rich man. A key element in modernizing the stage costume was selection of the costume color in such a way as to visually represent the voice tones sung by the major characters in the opera. Second, the maid hat and aprons were decorated with frills by applying the curves of Rocaille decoration from the Rococo period symbolize the role of the maids. This represented the distinction between occupation according to class and status at that time, while also expressing the ideals of modern feminine beauty. This makes for more comfortably-worn costumes, and is economical for production expenses. In the future, the stage costume design for classical opera will need to be revised consideration of a modern viewpoint.

패턴인식이나 영상이해의 영역에서는 같은 물체라도 잡음이나 왜곡에 의하여 모양이 훼손되어 다른 물체로 인식될 수 있다. 따라서 물체 인식에서는 두 물체가 완전히 동일한지 여부를 판정하는 것보다는 두 물체가 서로 어느 정도 유사한가를 판정하는 것이 중요한 경우가 많다. 이 논문에서는 훼손된 기호의 인식을 위하여 기호를 표현하는 두 그래프 표현간의 유사도 측정을 이용한 기호 인식 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 기호 인식 방법은 런 그래프(run graph)를 이용하여 인식 대상 기호를 노드(node)와 에지(edge)로 구성되는 그래프 형태로 표현하고 임베딩 변환(embedding transform)을 포함한 생성 규칙을 사용하여 입력 그래프를 참조 모델 그래프와 유사한 형태로 변형시킨다. 이러한 과정에서 변형된 최종 그래프와 모델 그래프간의 구조적 유사성과 변형시 사용된 생성 규칙의 수를 이용하여 그래프간 유사도를 측정함으로써 기호를 인식하였으며 이의 응용 분야로서 악보에서 비음표 기호 인식에 사용하였다. 이 결과 96%의 인식률을 얻었으며 기호가 심하게 훼손되지 않은 경우에는 거의 인식에 성공하였다.

The purpose of this research is that to study of musical performer's purchasing behavior, satisfaction and design preference, and to give the information for better performance costume market based on that result. The target for the survey is limited only for above 4th grade female students and have experienced more than three times of performances. Total 364 questionnaires are used for this research. The SPSS was used for the analysis. The results were, first, in the survey of place of purchasing, specialty shop for musical performance shop was the most. The most group for the budget that they spent was under 100,000 Won. Rational price for costume would be 150,000-300,000 Won. Most people purchase costume before 2 weeks and compare 3-4 stores mostly. There were not many complaints about being comfort for costume itself. The preference for costume was different depends on not only scale of performance but also whether solo, duet or trio or more. Also harmony with other person costume was most consideration factor when they perform duet or more. For the choice of shop factor following were considered the most important; various selections, kindness of sales persons and possibility for trying various costumes. However, locations of shop or delivery service were not important relatively. For the choice of costume factor, design color, comfort and functionality were considered the most important but price, quality and decoration were not. For 'the satisfaction after purchase costume' factor, people's opinions, best appearance on the stage and meeting image with themselves were considered the most important. Second, on the subject for 'design preference of costume based on type of performance', people chose different color of dress depends on what types of performance. In case of solo, they prefer vivid primary color; in case of trio or more, they prefer black; in case of duet, they prefer pastel tone. As for preference of sleeve design, all of them prefer non-sleeve type.

The purpose of this study was to explore the theatrical aesthetics of the performances which was produced by the theater director, Yang Jung-Ung. Yang has been one of the most influential directors working in Korea in the last 15 years. He has put up performances all over the world with the theater members from his company called Yohangza, which was founded by him in 1997, and working as the director, portrayed his style of the theatrical aesthetics through the works of its plays and musical products. In 2012, this company performed A Midsummer Night's Dream at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. A Midsummer Night's Dream was invited to be staged at the Barbican Center in 2006. In the same year, it received the grand prize and the Audience Choice award at the Gdansk International Shakespeare Festival in Poland. The musical products like A Good Woman from Seoul and the modern Opera Wozeck are representative works of Yohangza, which are known for a unique way of exploring the meaning of life. The 2009 plays Hamlet and Peer Gynt represent Yohangza's simpler yet more insightful theatrical style. Peer Gynt, which debuted at the LG Art Center, made headlines for its innovative staging. It received the grand prix, Best Director and Best Stage Art awards at the 2009 Korea Theater Awards. Yohangza's plays show two-side "image-based" works. The company drastically reduced verbal lines and enriched the plays with Korean sentiment and aesthetics, but their scripts contained many poetic lines full of overtones. They showed a theatrical mise-en-scene of images, energetic dance, songs in chorus and percussion. For example, Korean sentiments were subtly blended into the two Shakespeare's plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Nights. Their performance combines music, mime, song and dance to create an exhilarating adaptation of Shakespeare's inventive and glittering comedy. In addition, the style of Yohangza Theatre Company is a collision of the past and the present: a reworking of existing Korean styles and themes infused with contemporary elements and full of unique exploration in the plays.

본 논문에서는 기타 타브 악보에서 추출한 프렛 번호를 대상으로 학습 알고리즘의 분류 성능을 비교한다. 타브 악보로부터 세그먼트를 통해 추출된 타브 숫자 데이터는 타브 선과 악보 기호가 포함하기 때문에 레이블링 기법과 비선형 필터를 이용하여 프렛 숫자를 추출한다. 추가적인 데이터 확보를 위해 전처리가 수행된 데이터에 대해 4 방향으로 이동 연산을 수행한다. 선택된 학습 모델은 베이지안 분류기, 지지벡터기기, 프로토타입 기반 학습, 다층 신경망 그리고 합성곱 신경망 모델 등이다. 실험 결과 베이지안 분류기는 85.0% 평균 정확도를 보였고 나머지 분류기는 99.0% 이상의 평균 정확도를 보였다. 일반화 성능과 전처리 단계를 고려 시 합성곱 신경망이 다른 학습 모델들보다 우수하다.
