Four Korean species of the genus Philonthus Stephens (P. aeneipennis Boheman, P. daimio Sharp, P. nakanei Sawada, and P. numata Dvorak) are identified newly and are recorded for the first time in Korea. The diagnosis and the aedeagus illustrations of each species are presented herein.

The present account briefly describes two crustose lichen species new to South Korea. Detailed taxonomic descriptions of Leiorreuma exaltatum and Trapelia coarctata, supported by distribution, ecology and illustrations, are provided. Both species were collected from warm-temperate, humid forests of Jeju Island.

The globalization through sport has its own positive point, because its speed can proceed faster than the other area. For twenty-five years long Soccer has influenced people all of the world not only as a role of the most enjoyable sport, but also as a role of the most important position in politics, economics and social fields. Moreover, soccer has comprised transcendentally within region, race and nation which has made a big market share in leisure industry. By completing this research, the Sport Exhibition should be defined innovatively as a place that enables people actively to develop their creativity. Some of overseas sport exhibitions were selected as a sample in this study, such as The National Football Museum in England, Cornilon Nord Saint Denis in France and Sir Matt Busby Way Old Trafford Manchestrer Ml6 ORA in England, which produced an experience based exhibition. Here this study is purposed to establish, efficiently, the history of korean soccer and FIFA Worldcup as a part of construction for 2002 FIFA Worldcup exhibition and to define its conceptional characteristics composition of planning and schematic design than to play a role as basic study of architectural space.

Blasticotoma filiceti pacifica Malaise, 1931, os recognized from Korea based on a female specimen collected at Mt. Odae-san, Kangwon-do, This is the first record of the family Blasticotomidae from Korea.

A systematic study of Korean stony corals was done with specimens from 16 localities in the coastal seas of Korea for the period of 1969 through 1981. The scleractinians identified in the present study turned out to be 17 species, 11 genera, six families and five suborders. They were all new to the Korean scleractinians founa: Psammocora profundacella, Alveopora japonica, Culicia japonica, Caryophyllia japonica, Cyathoceras niinoi, Heterocyathus aequicostatus, H.japonicus, Stephanocyathus (Odontocyathus) spiniger, Desmophyllum insignis, flabellum distinctum, F. rubrum, F. transversale, Dendrophyllia boschmai, D. bribrosa, D. florulenta, Tubastraea aurea and T. coccinea.

A study on the classification of the Korean anthozoans is based on the materials which were collected during the period from October 1963 to May 1975 in the coastal seas of the South Sea and the East Sea of the South Korea. The results of the identification were turned out to be eight species, five genera, three families and one order. They are all unrecorded species in Korean anthozoan fauna. The newly recorded species are as follows: Family Alcyoniidae: 1. Bellonella rubra Brundin, 1896; 2. B. rigida Putter, 1900; 3. B. unicolor (Kukenthal, 1906); 4. Alcyonium gracillimum Kukenthal, 1906; Family Nephtheidae: 5. Paraspongodes spiculosa (Kukenthal, 1906); 6. P. hirotai (Utinomi, 1951); 7. Dendronephthya pectinata (Holm, 1985); Family Nidaliidae: 8. Siphonogorgia dofleini Kukenthal, 1906.

Three monophyletic branches are strongly supported in a phylogenetic analysis of the Teloschistaceae based on combined data sets of internal transcribed spacer and large subunit nrDNA and 12S small subunit mtDNA sequences. These are described as new monotypic genera: Jasonhuria S. Y. Kondr., L. Lőkös et S. -O. Oh, Loekoesia S. Y. Kondr., S. -O. Oh et J. -S. Hur and Olegblumia S. Y. Kondr., L. Lőkös et J. -S. Hur. Three new combinations for the type species of these genera are proposed.

In this paper, we described web content searching system focused on the natural monuments, the endangered and reserved wild animals, the rare wild animals relevant to CITES & IUCN red data book, and the Korean endemic species. As a result of this research, we developed system for inserting and modifying of contents and efficient web searching system on the multimedia contents.

This study investigates records about state systems which were installed to manage aids to navigation workings related to ship and navigation in Korea. It shows the transition process from signal-fire that was used for safe sailing in the three kingdom period to the oil lamp, acetylene gas light, electric light and the LED lamp have been used as a light source for the lighthouses since the modern age.
