  • For the spatial experience of spectators visiting a museum, the route search of trying to follow the spatial structure or production of exhibition and the information search of trying to see are accomplished at the same time. In such process, the spectator's reaction of visual perception produces the result of emotional reaction and action exchanged between human and space by going through the recognition and perception on the target of environment factor. For the spatial experience of a spectator, the reaction of visual perception which interacts according to the exhibit and exhibition environment within space according to viewing purpose, interest and concern of spectator comes out as visual activity which is an activity to understand the spatial information shown as various activities according to spatial structure and unfolding characteristics of the display. The purpose of this study is to identify The Correlation of Spectator Movement Created According to Structural Form of Exhibition Area Based on Interaction between Exhibition Area Structure and Spectator to utilize as basic material while designing museum exhibition using isovist field which is a quantitative analysis tool of spectator's visual behavior and spatial structure at each exhibition area.

  • This study is to a question in argument that existing theses about a trait spatial configuration of exhibition space were analyzed without appropriateness verification of analysis characteristics. Firstly, through theoretical studies of established thesis, validity twenty analysis characteristics was chosen by making an investigation into existing analysis characteristics. Secondly, through a subject of our investigation, forty-two exhibition space of nineteen museums and art museum at home and abroad, a distribution map of exhibition space was analyzed by multivariate analysis. As a result of this study : 1) Nine analysis characteristics which extracted through multivariate analysis was the principal analysis characteristics. 2) A scale was important characteristic for the classification of museum therefore a degree of space perception was ought to compare every one of similar scale museum. 3) When comparing a trait of spatial configuration at exhibition space, these characteristics came into effect on middle sized museums. 4) It was visually confirmed a trait of spatial configuration of each group between museum and art museum

  • This study aims to offer fundamental design strategies for concerning public·service space in museums through comparative analysis between korean and foreign museums. In so doing, it deals with the spatial configuration of public·service space. It suggests that the careful consideration about the public·service space should be taken in order to make the museum public in real sense. Some design strategies suggested in this study can be used as fundamental data for a public museum design, in particular at the early stage of the design process.

  • Museum buildings display artefacts for public education and enjoyment, ensuring their long-term safety and the comfort of visitors by following strict indoor environment control protocols using mechanical Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to keep the (environmental) variables at a fixed comfort level. Maintaining this requires constant supply of energy currently mostly sourced from the combustion of fossil fuels which exacerbates climate change. However, a review on the effects of the indoor environmental variables on museum artefacts as well as museum visitors revealed that there is no specific point at which artefact deterioration occurs, and that there are wide ranges of conditions that guarantee the long-term safety of artefacts and human comfort. Visits to museum buildings in hot-humid tropical climate of Nigeria revealed that strict indoor environmental practices were adopted. Even when appropriate micro-climatic conditions are provided for artefacts, mechanical HVAC systems remain necessary for visitor comfort because almost no consideration is given to natural ventilation. With the current global push towards energy management, this paper reviewed passive environmental control practices, architectural design strategies, and discusses the adaptation of double skin façade with jali screens, and the notion of smart materials, which can satisfy the range of requirements for the long-term safety of artefacts and levels of human comfort in buildings in hot-humid tropical climate, without mechanical HVAC systems. This review would inspire more discussions on passive, energy efficient, smart and climate responsible popular architecture, challenging current thinking on the impact of the more accepted representative architecture.

  • This study takes cultural space facilities as the research object, trying to grasp the status quo of universal design. By selecting Busan Museum, Busan Museum of Art, and Busan Museum of Modern Art, masters the applicability and characteristics of universal design, and gets the improvements. First, through literature review, the concepts of universal design and evaluation elements are considered. Secondly, obtains five evaluation elements by analyzing previous research. Thirdly, a field survey of various cultural spaces were conducted. gains the relevant status and problems of universal design. According to the results of the detailed evaluation project of cultural space also shuowed that the Busan Museum of Modern Art, Busan Museum, and Busan Museum of Modern Art followed in order, while the average applicability of the universal design of the three cultural spaces accounts for 53.6%. In addition, the results of the average evaluation of the facilities show that the additional facilities are the best, in turn internal facilities, sanitation facilities, other facilities, and guidelines facilities. In the future, it is deemed necessary to conduct regular surveys on universal design and renovate related facilities for public cultural facilities.

  • Museum is the carrier and symbol of history and cultural accumulation, and the museum cultural relics are clues with the spirit of history. Moreover, the museum cultural and creative products are portable history. Museum has changed form the traditional "object-basic" model to the modern "people-basic" model, which pays more attention to its living inheritance. Therefor, the museum cultural and creative products is also the way of expression of its living inheritance. This paper analyzes the opportunities and difficulties of cultural and creative products of Chinese museums by means of network survey, field survey and expert interview. In order to improve the design method of cultural and creative products. By exploring the cultural connotation, broadening the functional factors, innovating the design factors and creating the empathy factor between products and people to explore and the verify. Trying to make up the imperfect design methods of cultural and creative products in small and medium-sized museums which leads to the lack of function, innovation and communication of cultural and creative products. We try to attract more people's attention, spread traditional culture and realize the resonance between people and objects.

  • This study intends to analyze the various spatial structures of the Seoul city museum with reference to the layouts and the qualitative mode of exhibition items. Understanding the way of actual exhibition design can be a clue to understand the contents of exhibition story which guarantees to make the pertinent space and visitors route organization between different levels of architectural space and exhibition space.   • The premise of this study is that an ultimate objective in planning an exhibition space is spectators' experiences shaped by a result of their first-hand experiences and responses within an exhibition space, and this result can be recognized in the spectators' movement. The purpose of this paper is finding out characteristics and differences between amounts and methods of information which gives visitors through sign system as communication design, by this analysis, providing clues necessary for design in museum.

  • The present research has created and evaluated contents capable of work appreciation visitors changing their viewpoints on their will by introducing mobile exhibition exposition devices (iPad) for large exhibition museum. Various exposition contents of usually invisible parts or those provided in accordance with user positions drew visitors' attentions and improved museum experience satisfaction. Utilization of digitalized exhibition information generated activeness in viewing and new communication between exhibition and a visitor instead of the conventional exhibition exposition.
