Objectives : The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of the effects of three exercise types on anthropometric and serum lipids and physiological index factors, which are known to be the three risk factors of cardiovascular disease in male workers. Methods : The experimental study period was 12 weeks. In this study, 30-40's males (N=31) were assigned to 3 experimental groups: regular aerobic(treadmill walking) exercise group, regular anaerobic(muscular endurance) exercise group, irregular aerobic & anaerobic exercise group and a control group using a stratified random assignment method. Results : In relation to anthropometric factors, the regular aerobic & anaerobic exercise groups showed significant decreases in Weight, Broca's index, WC, BMI, WHtR, WHpR and HRrest. With regard to the serum lipid factors, the TC was decreased, but the HDL-c increased among the regular aerobic & anaerobic exercise groups. However, no significant difference was found between the other groups in respect to the LDL-c and TG. Considering the physiological factors, the TC/HD-c, TC-HDL/HDL-c, LDL-C/HDL-c and NON-HDL-c ratios were decreased, but the HDL-c/TC ratio increased among the regular aerobic & anaerobic exercise groups. The TG/HDL-c and HDL-c/LDL-c ratios showed no significant differences between the groups. These results indicated that the positive change for each factor is much larger in the regular exercise groups, especially in the anaerobic exercise group. Conclusions : The results indicate that not only regular aerobic exercise, but also regular anaerobic(muscular endurance) exercise could be utilized in lessening the deleterious effects of the risk index factors for cardiovascular disease.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and reveal the effects that the complex exercise training consisting of aerobic exercise and strength training(sit up, push up) that everyone can easily practice regardless of a time and a place in order to manage practically the physical strength of the aged affects the difference on their body composition and the change of physical fitness level. Looking into the change of body composition of an experimental group, the weight of 2.5kg was reduced after applying complex training for 12 weeks and the body fat mass of 2.65kg was reduced. Also, the abdominal fat of 0.13% was decreased and the muscle mass of 1.56kg was increased. For the change factors of physical fitness, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance and flexibility excluding agility showed significant improvement after applying complex exercise training. The improvement of health fitness of the aged under this study was significantly effective to improve specified body functions which had been lowered by aging and insufficient physical activities. So, it is regarded that their health fitness is the important factor to improve the activity competence required for daily life and to lead healthy living by the improved activity competence. Henceforth, it needs to study more the complex composition of several sports, exercise intensity and the frequency based on the previous researches and studies. In addition, it needs to develop the complex exercise training in accordance with various characteristics such as a sex of the aged, an age, a physical fitness level, environment, a disease and the program in consideration of the efficacy and safety during training.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to know different effect with uncontrolled hypertension patients after providing health promotion program which consisted with medicine, exercise, nutrition. Methods: The subjects of this study was comprised by uncontrolled hypertension patients in spite of medication and didn't care the pressure by medication. The health promotion program was progressed by group exercise three times a week, nutrition education once a week and medical consultation once a month for 12 weeks. Subjects were measured for body composition(weight, fat mass, % body fat and body mass index), hemo-dynamics(systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), and resting heart rate), and physical fitness (cardiopulmonary endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, balance, and flexibility). Results: Groups showed significant improvement in every measure except resting heart rate. SBP is decreased both taking drug group about 18.4mmHg and without taking drug group about 19.4mmHg.(p<0.001) DBP is decreased both taking drug group about 8.7mmHg and without taking drug group about 9.0 mmHg.(p<0.001) Conclusion: There are no statistical significant differences of SBP and DBP decreasing effects by medication, Since effects of decreasing pressure are not different by medication, I think the health promotion program is effective to uncontrolled hypertension patients to decrease pressure.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are significant differences in kinematic variables and muscle activities of the thumb between two smartphone holding techniques. Twelve right handed university students(age $25.4{\pm}3.9yrs$, height $176.2{\pm}5.1cm$, weight $75.8{\pm}11.4kg$, hand length $19.2{\pm}1.1cm$) who have no musculoskeletal disorder were recruited as the subjects and had experience in using a smartphone for more than one year. Maximum joint angle, angular velocity, muscular activities were determined for each trial. For each dependent variable, paired t-test was used to determine whether there were significant differences between one hand (OH) and two hands ([TH], ${\rho}$ <.05). The results of this study showed that there were no significant differences between OH and TH in the maximum joint angle of the thumb. The angular velocity of each joint was not statistically significant between OH and TH. The statistical analysis revealed that the main effect of the smartphone holding conditions was significant in the peak normalized muscular activities of FDI and APL. Although smartphone holding technique doesn't affect on mobility and movement of the thumb joint, it may affect on active degree of the thumb and the upper extremity in directly and indirectly.
Until now, there are no scientific studies for Dongkyung-i(DKI) dog, which is recently called as Deng-Kyun. This study is aimed to investigate the characteristics of DKI. According to visiting studies, DKI is an active, live and muscular dog. The dog is willing to announce the approach of strangers friendly. As the results of morphological studies, DKI is medium sized and the average weight is 22.6 kg. Its coat has mainly yellowish brown color and short hair. Morphologically, the dog showed vestigial tail and muscular and sturdy pelvic limbs. As the results of radiological studies, DKI is characterized as the absence of coccygeal vertebrae or the coccygeal agenesis. We concluded that DKI may be a Korean native canine breed characterized as short or non-tail dog. Also, we suggested that this characteristic dog is valuable to develop as a Korean native breed.
The purpose of the study was to identify available evidence related to physical activity interventions that were effective to improve health-related physical fitness levels of children and youth with disabilities. Studies were accumulated from multiple databases (i.e., ERIC, Child Development & Adolescent Studies, MEDLINE, SPORTDiscus with Full Text, and CINAHL Plus with Full Text). From the initial process, 1195 articles were identified and of those, 13 studies (n = 13) were analyzed. Based on the results, community-based physical activities were the most common environment of interventions followed by school-based and home-based. Further, the most improved health-related physical fitness outcomes were muscular strength, muscular endurance, and cardiorespiratory endurance while limited evidence on weight reduction was available. There is a need for more research on physical activity intervention which particularly improves health related physical fitness of children and youth with disabilities.

In this paper, we were to investigate effect of correction to muscle imbalance in lower limbs according to reduction of weight bearing methods of four point of horizontal shaft using two-belt treadmill. Participants were divided to two group according to each ten peoples who have difference of muscle function in left and right legs over 20%. Experiment progressed forty minutes a day three days a week, total four weeks and we estimated the maximal peak torque and average power for testing joint torque in hip, knee and ankle. The results showed that the correction effect of muscle imbalance to the maximal muscle strength was the most effective in hip joint. Also in knee joint, correction effect of muscular reaction was the most effective too. We thought that reduction of weight bearing methods could be positive effect to correct muscle imbalance in lower limbs.

The present studies are designed to determine whether the NMES can affect the muscle atrophy in rats following administration of steroid. Rats were divided into four groups: 1) Control group treated with administration of distilled water. 2) The group treated with administration of steroid. 3) The group treated with NMES once a day after adminstration of steroid. 4) The group treated with NMES twice a day after administration of steroid. The muscle atrophy was induced by one week administration of dexamethasone once a day by 3 mg/kg. The change in the structure of muscle fiber and the amount. of myofibril protein and gastrocnemius were determined after every week dissection of the tissues. The results were as follows; 1. The administration of steroid significantly affected the decrease in the weight, but NMES did not affect the inhibition of decrease in the weight. 2. The weight of gastrocnemius in the group once treated with NMES was changed two weeks later; similarly in the group twice treated with NMES significantly did two or three weeks later. These indicated that NMES affected the muscular activation of gastrocnemius(p<.05). 3. The changes in the amount of gastrocnemius protein by NMES might, indicate that NMES activated the capacity of synthesis of muscle fiber protein(p<.05).
The present review was aimed to assess the feasibility of increasing the slaughter weight (SW) of finishing pigs. Growth performance, including ADG, ADFI and gain:feed, does not change significantly with increasing SW between 110 and $135{\pm}5kg$ in lean-genotype pigs, whereas in non-lean pigs, ADG and gain:feed decrease with increasing SW within the similar range of BW. Backfat thickness (BFT) and marbling of the carcass, which are greater in barrows than in gilts, increase with the increase of SW. The SW could be increased by using a low-energy diet and thereby reducing the rate of fat deposition per weight gain. The yield of the belly increases with the increase of SW, which may be economically significant in Korea. However, yields of some other primal cuts do not change so much as to affect the carcass value. The redness and fat content of the muscle increase slightly with the increase of SW whereas moisture content is minimally influenced by SW. Muscular protein content rarely changes, but sometimes increases slightly, with increasing SW. Other physicochemical characteristics, including lightness, pH, drip loss, and cooking loss of the muscle, are barely influenced by SW. Marbling of fresh loin and ham increases with increasing SW. Sensory characteristics of fresh loin, ham, and belly, including color, aroma, off-flavor, drip, and acceptability, are not influenced significantly by SW. The eating quality of cooked pork also has almost no relation to SW. In conclusion, it is thought that the current SW for moderately lean barrows and gilts can be raised up to 125 and 135 kg, respectively, with BFT at these weights predicted to be approximately 24 mm near the last rib, without compromising the meat quality.
The objective of this research is to provide basic data for improving athletic performances, suggesting methods that can be utilized at games and coaching movements in the snatch, by analyzing the level of contribution of muscles to the movements of the snatch lift through three-dimensional imaging and EMG analysis between skilled and unskilled lifters. To this end, three high school students (the skilled group), three middle school student (the unskilled group) were selected; two digital video cameras and electromyography were used. The muscles measured by an EMG include gastrocnemius muscle, biceps femoris muscle, erector spinae, latissimus dorsi muscle, trapezius muscle, and brachioradialis. Based on the Ariel Performance Analysis System (APAS) program, the results of the analysis are summarized as follows. 1. In performing snatch pulls, the skilled lifters were found to simultaneously move the weight centers of the body and the barbell close to vertical, close to the shoulders in the pulling portion; in snatching and grabbing the barbell from a sited position, it was observed that the shorter the time for adjusting to change in the height of the barbell by using rotational inertia, the better it is to perform the movements. 2. The skilled lifters were observed to perform stable and efficient movements in grabbing the bar in a sited position, by moving the barbell and weight center of the body close to vertical and moving the shoulder joint under the bar fast. 3. The results of the EMG analysis of the entire movements from the snatching portion to the portion of grabbing the bar in a sited position show that when the skilled lifters lifted the barbell vertically during the pulling portion, their shoulder joints were extended to put more weight on biceps femoris muscle and brachioradialis; and in snatching and grabbing the bar from a sited position, it was found desirable to increase the myoelectrical activity of erector spinae in order to achieve a balance in the movements of the hip joint between font and rear, as the weight centers of the body and the barbell move higher. On the other hand, the unskilled lifters were found that in response to change in posture, they increase their muscular strength inefficiently in performing the movements throughout the entire lifting process.
