도로와의 거리에 따른 도시 근린공원의 음이온 농도 분포차이 - 서울시 양재 시민의 숲을 대상으로 - (Distribution of Negative Air Ion Concentration in Urban Neighborhood Park by Distance to Road - A Case of Yangjae Citizen's Forest, Seoul -)

  • 인간의 건강에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 음이온을 평가인자로 설정하고, 서울시 서초구 양재 시민의 숲을 대상으로 대기 중 음이온 농도 분포차이에 미치는 인접도로의 영향을 분석하였다. 대기 중 음이온, 양이온 농도와 대기온도, 상대습도, 풍속의 기상요소, 녹지용적계수(GVZ), 고속도로 및 일반도로로부터의 거리를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 고속도로 및 일반도로와 인접한 도로의 영향권에서는 평균 대기 중 음이온 농도가 $206ea/cm^3$, 대기 중 양이온 농도가 $416ea/cm^3$ 이었으며, 공원 내부지역인 도로의 비영향권에서는 평균 대기 중 음이온이 $339ea/cm^3$, 대기 중 양이온이 $229ea/cm^3$로 도로의 영향권 여부에 따른 대기 중 음이온 농도 차이가 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 영향요인들과의 상관분석을 종합하여 음이온 농도모델을 제시하였으며 도로의 영향 요소를 추가함으로써 모델의 설명력이 높아진 것으로 나타났다.

대전지역 산성강우의 화학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Chemical Characteristics of Acid Rain in Taejon City)

  • From March 1990 to August 1991, every each 5mm bulk precipitation samples were collected at one residental area in Taejon City to investigate chemical characteristics of acid rain. Major ion concentrations of rain samples $(pH, SO_4^{2-}, NO_3^-, CL^-, NH_4^+, Na^+, K^+, Ca^{2+}, Mg^{2+})$ were analysed and compared with the concentration of air pollutants (T. S. P, $SO_2, NO_x$) that were measured by Ministry of Environment. The results of statistical analysis are as followings. Rain pH was relatively high on October and January and relatively low on August, November and February. Major anion is sulfate, and it's concentration is 2.36 times higher than nitrate's, and major cations are ammonium, sodium and calcium ion. Monthly variation of sulfate and calcium concentrations are higher than the others. Ion concentration and rain pH were correlated negatively with rainfall amount. Major ions in rain samples were $SO_4^{2-}, NO_3^-, NH_4^+, Ca^{2+}$ and regression equations are proposed by multiple regression of measured data. Also, regression equation between air pollutants(T. S. P, $SO_2$) and $SO_4^{2-}, Na^+, K^+, Ca^{2+}, Mg^{2+} ions in rain samples were made. From this wer can predict rain pH.

개와 사람의 선천성 심장 전도장애에 대한 분자 유전학적 이해 (Molecular Genetics of Inherited Cardiac Conduction Defects in Humans and Dogs)

  • 심장 전도계에 관련된 심장 질환은 심장 전도계의 원발성 결함이나 형태학적 심장 질환 및 약물 중독 같은 속발성 원인에 의해 발생한다. 특히 선천성 심장 전도 장애의 경우, 이온 채널, 이온 채널에 관련한 세포질성 단백질, gap-junction 단백질, transcription factors (심장 발생에 관련된 유전자들) 및 kinase subunit을 전사하는 유전자의 돌연변이가 원발성 선천성 심장 전도장애의 원인으로 밝혀지고 있다. 사람의 부정맥 발생에 관련된 발병기전에 커다란 진보가 이루어지고 있음에도 불구하고, 개의 경우, 저먼 세퍼드의 급사 증후군 (sudden death syndrome)을 제외한 다른 전도 장애에 대한 연구는 극히 미비한 상태이다. 본 종설에서는 지금까지 밝혀진 심장 부정맥 발생의 분자 유전학적 고찰과 이와 관련된 사람의 유전학적 질환들과 이와 유사한 개의 선천성 심장 전도 장애에 대해 연구 고찰하였다.

Decomposition of PVC and Ion Exchange Resin in Supercritical Water

  • This study introduces the development of new supercritical water oxidation(SCW)(multiple step oxidation) to destruct recalcitrant organic substances totally and safely by using sodium nitrate as an oxidant. This method has solved the problems of conventional SCW, such as precipitation of salt due to lowered permittivity, pressure increase following rapid rise of reaction temperature, and corrosion of reactor due to the generation of strong acid. Destruction condition and rate in the supercritical water were examined using Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC) and ion exchange resins as organic substances. The experiment was carried out at $450^{\circ}C$ for 30min, which is relatively lower than the temperature for supercritical water oxidation $(600-650^{\circ}C)$. The decomposition rates of various incombustible organic substances were very high [PVC$(87.5\%)$, Anion exchange resin$(98.6\%)$, Cationexchange resin$(98.0\%)$]. It was observed that hetero atoms existed in organic compounds and chlorine was neutralized by sodium (salt formation). However, relatively large amount of sodium nitrate (4 equivalent) was required to raise the decomposition ratio. For complete oxidation of PCB was intended, the amount of oxidizer was an important parameter.

  • The present study numerically investigate the effects of the Syngas chemical kinetics on the basic flame properties and the structure of the Syngas diffusion flames. In order to realistically represent the turbulence-chemistry interact ion and the spatial inhomogeneity of scalar dissipation rate. the Eulerian Particle Flamelet Model(EPFM) with multiple flamelets has been applied to simulate the combustion processes and NOx formation in the syngas turbulent nonpremixed flames. Due to the ability for interactively describing the transient behaviors of local flame structures with CFD solver, the EPFM model can effectively account for the detailed mechanisms of NOx format ion including thermal NO path, prompt and nitrous NOx format ion, and reburning process by hydrocarbon radical without any ad-hoc procedure. validation cases include the Syngas turbulent nonpremixed jet and swirling flames. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussion has been made for the sensitivity of the Syngas chemical kinetics as well as the precise structure and NOx formation characteristics of the turbulent Syngas nonpremixed flames.

북한산국립공원(北漢山國立公圓) 북동사면(北東斜面) 일대(一帶) 계류수질(溪流水質) 특성(特性)(III) - 계류수질(溪流水質) 오염(汚染)에 미치는 영향인자(影響因子)를 중심(中心)으로 - (Characteristics on Stream Water Quality in the Northeastern Part of Puk'ansan National Park(III) - With a Special Reference to the Factor Influenced on Stream Water Quality Pollution -)

  • 이 연구는 북한산국립공원(北漢山國立公圓) 북동사면(北東斜面) 일대(一帶) 계류수질(溪流水質) 오염(汚染)에 영향(影響)하는 인자(因子)를 파악함으로써 국립공원내 계류수질 보전을 위한 과학적 기초 자료를 제공하기 위하여 1998년 7월부터 1999년 11월까지 수행하였다. 계류수질오염(溪流水質汚染)을 판단하는 지표(指標)인 전기전도도(電氣傳導度)의 설명에 유의한 영향을 미치는 인자는 탐방객수와 $Cl^-$ 점유비 등 2개 인자로 5% 수준에서 유의하여 북한산국립공원을 이용하는 탐방객수(探訪客數)의 증가(增加)는 계류수의 전기전도도(電氣傳導度)를 상승시켜 계류수질(溪流水質) 오염(汚染)에 영향(影響)을 미치는 것으로 분석(分析)되었다. 다중회귀분석결과 용존산소포화도의 설명에 유의한 영향을 미치는 인자는 용존산소량과 수온 등 2개 인자로 1% 수준에서 유의하였다. $Cl^-$의 설명에 유의한 영향을 미치는 인자는 전기전도도, $K^+$, $Na^+$, $SO_4{^{2-}}$, 이온총량, $Cl^-$점유비, $SO_4{^{2-}}$점유비 등 7개 인자로 5%, 1% 수준에서 유의하였다. 또한, $NO_3{^-}$의 설명에 유의한 영향을 미치는 인자는 $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $Cl^-$점유비, $NO_3{^-}$점유비 등 5개 인자로 5%, 1% 수준에서 유의하였으며, $SO_4{^{2-}}$의 설명에 유의한 영향을 미치는 인자는 $NO_3{^-}$, 이온총량 등 2개 인자로 5% 수준에서 유의하였다.

Multi-module Equalizer Circuit for Series-Connected Li-ion Batteries

  • In this paper, a multi-module selective battery equalizer for series-connected Li-ion battery pack is proposed. Selective Equalizer (SE) scheme achieves smaller volume and lighter weight than individual cell equalizer (ICE) by minimizing the part count of bulky circuit element. However, SE scheme shows slow balancing speed when the voltage imbalance simultaneously occurs in more than one cell. The proposed multi-module overcomes the problem by employing multiple power converters. Prototype hardware is implemented and experimented with 14Ah battery cells to validate the performance of the proposed equalizer.

Ab initio and Vibrational Predissociation Studies on Methylammonium-(Water)4 Complex: Evidence for Multiple Cyclic and Non-cyclic Hydrogen-bonded Structures

  • The combined ab initio and vibrational predissociation (VP) spectroscopic studies on methylammonium-$(water)_4$ complex aimed at understanding the hydration behavior of an amphiphilic ion core are described. The ab initio calculations predicted eleven low-energy isomers forming cyclic, tripod, chain, and caged structures, and their relative stabilities, total hydration energies and thermodynamic functions at 298 K and 150 K. The excellent correlation between the observed VP spectra and ab initio spectra for bonded N-H, bonded O-H and free O-H stretches suggested co-existence of five cyclic isomers and two non-cyclic isomers in ion beam at 150 K, consistent with the trends of calculated Gibbs free energies.

DFT Study of Bis(Crown-Ether) Analogue of Troger’s Base Complexed with Bisammonium Ions: Hydrogen Bonds

  • The optimized structures and complexation energies of bis(18-crown-6-ether) analogue (2) of Trgers base (1) with a series of primary alkylbisammonium ions have been calculated by DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) method. The calculated complexation efficiency (-142.84 kcal/mol) of 2 for butane-1,4-diylbisammonium guest is better than twice of the value (-61.40 kcal/mol) for butylammonium ion. The multiple hydrogen-bond abilities for the complexes are described as the function of the length of the alkyl substituents of the bisammonium guests with normal-alkyl chain [$-(CH_2)_{n-}$, n = 4-8]. The longer bisammonium guest shows the stronger hydrogen-bonding characterizations (the distance and the quasi-linear angle of the N-H…O) to the host 2 than the shorter bisammonium ions. These calculated results agree with the experimental data of the complexation of 2 with bisammonium salts ([$NH_3(CH_2)_nNH_3$] $Cl_2$).

Numerical Investigation of RF Pulsing Effect on Ion Energy Distributions at RF-biased Electrodes

  • The ion energy distributions (IEDs) arriving at a substrate strongly affect the etching rates in plasma etching processes. In order to determine the IEDs accurately, it is important to obtain the characteristics of radio frequency (rf) sheath at pulsed rf substrates. However, very few studies have been conducted to investigate pulsing effect on IEDs at multiple rf driven electrodes. Therefore, in this work, we extended previous one-dimensional dynamics model for pulsed-bias electrodes. We obtained the IEDs using the developed rf sheath model and observed that numerically solved IEDs are in a good agreement with the experimental results.
