This paper attempts to find a desirable way to effectively integrate the roles of the central government of Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Government in terms of e-government environments. Electronic intergovernmental relations(e-IGR) are analyzed from the multiple perspectives such as technological, institutional, and behavioral aspect. Among these. this paper found that the behavioral aspect deserves more academic and policy interests. Both the horizontal and vertical integration among departments and agencies will enable the e-government to serve people better.

Elementary teachers should lower their levels of expectation and indeed perspectives to those of elementary students. Even in relation to basic symbols, such as an arrow, can be read differently by teachers or students. Semiotics deals with the creation of meaning in rotation to symbols and signs. This study introduces semiotic analysis to the study of science textbooks. Elementary science textbooks contain a great many inscriptions, such as photographs and cartoons, even more than texts, such as words and sentences. Inscriptions employ various social conventions such as arrows, auxiliary lines, etc. Some conventional signs, however, hold different or indeed multiple meanings than the textbook author intended the sign to have. The arrows used in science textbook, mainly in the inscriptions, were analyzed and classified according to their intended meaning. The results indicated that teachers should use such arrows more carefully in lessons with elementary students.

Microblog services are such new communication channels with some considerable potential to improve information sharing. The idea of sharing short messages using multiple access points seems to be appealing to people worldwide. Through the lens of flow and social identity, we explored factors that influence information sharing behaviors in microblog services. With an empirical study, we examined enjoyment and concentration(flow) and self-presentation(social identity) in microblog services like twitter can contribute to the user behaviors. Our aim was to gain insight into ways of creating an environment that facilitating voluntary sharing of information. Our findings suggested that enjoyment, concentration, and selfpresentation were crucial determinants of information sharing behaviors in microblog services. This study has important implications for academic researchers and practitioners who seek to understand why microblog service users share their information with other members in microblog services.

ANKHD1 (ankyrin repeat and KH domain containing 1) is a large protein characterized by the presence of multiple ankyrin repeats and a K-homology domain. Ankyrin repeat domains consist of widely existing protein motifs in nature, they mediate protein-protein interactions and regulate fundamental biological processes, while the KH domain binds to RNA or ssDNA and is associated with transcriptional and translational regulation. In recent years, studies containing relevant information on ANKHD1 in cancer biology and its clinical relevance, as well as the increasing complexity of signaling networks in which this protein acts, have been reported. Among the signaling pathways of interest in oncology regulated by ANKHD1 are Hippo signaling, JAK/STAT, and STMN1. The scope of the present review is to survey the current knowledge and highlight future perspectives for ANKHD1 in the malignant phenotype of cancer cells, exploring biological, functional, and clinical reports of this protein in cancer.

Object-oriented databases (OODBs) have been adopted for managing non-standard applications such as computer-aided design (CAD), office document management and many multimedia applications. One of the major characteristics of OODBs is class hierarchy where a subclass is allowed to inherit the definitions defined on its superclasses. In this paper, I present the evaluation metrics for class hierarchy quality in OODBs. These metrics are developed to determine if a concurrency control scheme can achieve good performance or not on a given class hierarchy. I first discuss the existing concurrency control schemes for OODBs. Then I provide evaluation metrics based on structural information and access frequency information in class hierarchies. In order to discuss significance of the proposed performance metrics, an analytical model is developed. Analysis results show that the performance metrics are important factor in concurrency control performance. I consider both single inheritance and multiple inheritance. The proposed metrics can be used to provide guidelines on how to design class hierarchy of an OODB for maximizing the performance of concurrency control technique.

Participants were 272 teachers from kindergartens and child care centers who responded to 2 survey questionnaires: translated and revised versions of Laub's (1999) Servant Organizational Leadership Assessment(SOLA) and Jorde-Bloom's(1989) Early Childhood Job Satisfaction Survey(ECJSS). Components of SOLA were values people, develops people, displays authenticity, builds community, provides leadership, and shares leadership; components of ECJSS were co-worker relationships, administrator relationship, job itself, working environment, possibility of rewards/promotions, feelings about the organization. Data were analyzed by SPSS WIN computer program, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analyses. Relationships were found between servant leadership of the early childhood educational institution and job satisfaction. Components of perceived servant leadership that predicted job satisfaction were 'develops people', 'displays authenticity', 'values people' and 'provides leadership.'

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that influence health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in community-dwelling older adults. Methods: The participants were 133 elderly people dwelling in a community. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Stepwise multiple regression with SPSS. Results: The predictors of quality of life in the elderly were depression, physical symptoms, and social support. Depression and physical symptoms had a significant negative correlation with HRQoL and social support had a significant positive correlation with HRQoL. Among them, depression was shown as the most significant predictor of HRQoL in the elderly ($R^2$=.573, p<.001). Conclusion: These results indicate that strategies to relieve depression should be integrated in interventions to improve the QoL of older adults dwelling in a community residence.

In the last few decades there has been much interest in how mathematics can be effectively taught and learnt. The Third Wave is a unique ongoing international collaborative mathematics education research project, which aims to explore the relevant values of effective school mathematics teaching from both the teacher and student perspectives. As part of this project, this study investigates the related findings from students on the Chinese mainland. Multiple data were collected through classroom observations, focus group interviews, and written, open-ended questions. Twenty-four students from junior and senior secondary schools were invited to write down their views on an effective lesson, a good mathematics teacher, and how to do well in mathematics learning. Results showed that among the eight values determined in the study, the values of involvement, explanation, and examples were embraced by students across all grades. Students preferred teacher-led mathematics teaching. Junior secondary students placed more value on teachers' personalities, whereas senior students placed more value on teachers' teaching manners.

Drosophila hematopoiesis is comparable to mammalian differentiation of myeloid lineages, and therefore, has been a useful model organism in illustrating the molecular and genetic basis for hematopoiesis. Multiple novel regulators and signals have been uncovered using the tools of Drosophila genetics. A Runt domain protein, lozenge, is one of the first players recognized and closely studied in the hematopoietic lineage specification. Here, we explore the role of lozenge in determination of prohemocytes into a special class of hemocyte, namely the crystal cell, and discuss molecules and signals controlling the lozenge function and its implication in immunity and stress response. Given the highly conserved nature of Runt domain in both invertebrates and vertebrates, studies in Drosophila will enlighten our perspectives on Runx-mediated development and pathologies.
