In this paper, an adaptive minimum transmit power modulation scheme under constant data rate and fixed bit error rate (BER) for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is proposed. It adjusts the modulation order and allocates the transmit power to each spatial sub-channel when meeting the user's requirements at the cost of minimum transmission power. Compared to the other algorithm, it can obtain good performance with lower computational complexity and can be applied to the wireless communication system. Computer simulation results present the efficiency of the proposed scheme. And its performance under different channel condition has been compared with the other algorithm.
In most multiple input/output systems, one input affects two or more different outputs. Therefore, there are many inconveniences in using the actual system. In order to solve this problem, a controller that makes an input signal and an output correspond 1:1 is called a decoupling controller. In this paper, I try to implement a relatively simple decoupling controller using a cross-compensator, that is, a compensator that takes an uncorresponding output as an input value. And this cross-compensator has a gain scheduler structure in order to increase the performance. In addition, this system is designed with a distributed control structure using CAN communication, so that it can be manufactured and operated in an easier way when implementing an actual experimental system. The proposed structure is applied to the modified new Arago's disk system and tested, and through this, the effectiveness is confirmed and reported.

This paper introduces a novel technique to detect and isolate the failures of multiple actuators connected to a system. Failure of actuator considered in this study could be any type of erroneous input that is different from commanded one. The interaction matrix technique allows the development of input-output equations that are only influenced by one target input. These input-output equations serve as an effective toot to monitor the integrity of each actuator regardless of the status of the other actuators. The method is capable of real-time actuator failure detection and isolation under any type of input excitation. The laboratory experiment using 8-bay NASA truss structure verifies the feasibility of the proposed method.
In existing literature on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relaying communication systems, antenna selection is often implemented by maximizing the channel capacity or the output single-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient low-complexity antenna selection scheme for MIMO relaying communication systems. The proposed algorithm is based on beamforming and maximizing the Frobenius norm to jointly optimize the transmit power, number of active antennas, and antenna subsets at the source, relaying and destination. We maximize the energy efficiency between the link of source to relay and the link of relay to destination to obtain the maximum energy efficiency of the system, subject to the SNR constraint. Compared to existing antenna selection methods forMIMO relaying communication systems, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can save more power in term of energy efficiency, while having lower computational complexity.
A blind separation problem in a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant (LTI) system with finite-alphabet inputs is considered. A discrete-time matrix equation model is used to describe the input-output relation of the system in order to make full use of the advantages of modern digital signal processing techniques. At first, ambiguity problem is investigated. Then, based on the results of the investigation, a new identifiability condition is proposed for the case of an input-data set which is widely used in digital communication. A probability bound such that an arbitrary input matrix satisfies the identifiability condition is derived. Finally, Monte-Carlo simulation is performed to demonstrate the validity of our suggestions.

In this paper, we studied on the optimization of the output power of Mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) base station considering the technical condition of base station and wireless channel condition. The optimum power of base station can be estimated based on the link budget calculation of downlink and uplink in the Mobile WiMAX communication system. We investigated the optimum output power of base station in the case of 2Tx-2Rx base station with $2{\times}2$ MIMO(multiple input multiple output) technology, 2Tx-4Rx base station with improved receiver sensitivity, and 4Tx-4Rx base station with beamforming technology.

Transceiver optimization in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) cognitive systems is studied in this paper. The joint transceiver beamformer design is introduced to minimize the transmit power at secondary base station (SBS) while simultaneously controlling the interference to primary users (PUs) and satisfying the secondary users (SUs) signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) based on the convex optimization method. Due to the limited cooperation between SBS and PUs, the channel state information (CSI) usually cannot be obtained perfectly at the SBS in cognitive system. In this study, both perfect and imperfect CSI scenarios are considered in the beamformer design, and the proposed method is robust to CSI error. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper considers the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system with linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection under ideal fast fading. For $N_t$ transmit and $N_r({\geq}N_t)$ receive antennas, we derive the achievable ergodic capacity of MMSE detection exactly. When MMSE detection is considered in a receiver, we introduce a different approach that gives the approximation of a MIMO channel capacity at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The difference between the channel capacity and the achievable capacity of MMSE detection converges to some constant that depends only on the number of antennas. We validate the analytical results by comparing them with Monte Carlo simulated results.
A joint channel estimation and data detection technique for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication system is proposed. It combines the least square (LS) training based channel estimation (TBCE) scheme with sphere decoding. In this new approach, channel estimation is enhanced with the help of blind symbols, which are selected based on their correctness. The correctness is determined via sphere decoding. The performance of the new scheme is studied through simulation in terms of the bit error rate (BER). The results show that the proposed channel estimation has comparable performance and better computational complexity over the existing semi-blind channel estimation (SBCE) method.
