  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of store image preferences on clothing impulse purchasing of male college students. The sample included 290 male college students, and an instrument was developed based on the previous studies. The statistical analyses used for this study were factor analysis and multiple regression. The result of factor analysis showed that store image preferences consisted of five factors : promotion, display, service, product, brand preferences. Clothing impulse purchasing consisted of product-driven impulse purchasing, situation-driven impulse purchasing, emotion-driven impulse purchasing. Multiple regression revealed that there were significant effects of store image preferences on dimensions of clothing impulse purchasing. For example, promotion preference factor had a positive impact on product-driven impulse purchasing and situation-driven impulse purchasing, but had a negative impact on emotion-driven impulse purchasing. The relative importance of store image preference factors were different according to different dimensions of clothing impulse purchasing.

  • In this paper, a sound quality index for the evaluation of the vehicle intake noise was developed through a correlation analysis of the objective measurement and the subjective evaluation. First, intake orifice noise was measured at the wide-open throttle sweep condition. And then, the acoustic transfer function between intake orifice noise and interior noise was measured. Simultaneously, subjective evaluation was carried out with a 10-scale score by 8 special engineers. The correlation analysis between the psychoacoustic parameters derived from the measurement and the subjective evaluation was performed. The most critical factor was determined and the corresponding sound quality index for intake noise was obtained from the multiple factor regression analysis method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed index was validated.

  • This study was to secure the safety of poor appearance distribution concrete poles effectively and to reduce the replacement costs of them by developing a soundness evaluation index. The researcher of this study investigated poor appearance types of concrete pole, collected 53 of test samples, and tested pole strength. As a result of strength test, only 17 percent of poor appearance concrete poles were below 2.0 of safety factor spec. As results of multiple regression analysis, it is verified that surface air void, horizontal crack, net-shaped crack, elapsed year, vertical crack, and deterioration in concrete compressive strength have statistically negative effects on safety factor of concrete poles in a significant level. The researcher set up a soundness evaluation index by using multiple regression equation, and suggested that poor appearance concrete poles should be replaced or reinforced only in case of soundness evaluation score of 150 or above.

  • Obesity is not classed in general psychiatry disease. But, psychoneurotic factor has been known to be a risk factor of obesity. In order to evaluate and understand the psychoneurotic state on obese patient, this study used Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI). Total patients were classified into 3 or 5 clusters. MMPI scores were compared according to education, BMI and Sasang Constitution. Multiple regression analysis were used for psychological factor on obese patients by age, height, weight, education, percent body fat, fat distribution, BMI. Based on this study, it was no significantly difference by education level, BMI, sasang(四象) constitution except L profile according to BMI. These result is different from our general recognition of the psychoneurotic state on obese patient. Therefore, the bigger sample study is needed.

  • In this paper, an index for the evaluation of vehicle intake booming noise is developed through a correlation analysis of objective measurement data and subjective evaluation data. First, intake orifice noise is measured at the wide-open test condition. And then, acoustic transfer function between intake orifice noise and interior noise at the steady state condition is estimated. Simultaneously, subjective evaluation was carried out with a ten-scale score by 8 engineers. Next, the correlation analysis between the psycho-acoustic parameters derived from the measured data and the subjective evaluation is performed. The most critical factor was determined and the corresponding index for the intake booming noise is obtained from the multiple factor regression method. At last, the effectiveness of the proposed index is validated.

  • As a part of the KIAPS (Korea Institute of Atmospheric Prediction Systems) Package for Observation Processing (KPOP), we have developed the modules for Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A) pre-processing and its bias correction. The KPOP system calculates the airmass bias correction coefficients via the method of multiple linear regression in which the scan-corrected innovation and the thicknesses of 850~300, 200~50, 50~5, and 10~1 hPa are respectively used for dependent and independent variables. Among the four airmass predictors, the multicollinearity has been shown by the Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) that quantifies the severity of multicollinearity in a least square regression. To resolve the multicollinearity, we adopted simple linear regression and Principal Component Regression (PCR) to calculate the airmass bias correction coefficients and compared the results with those from the multiple linear regression. The analysis shows that the order of performances is multiple linear, principal component, and simple linear regressions. For bias correction for the AMSU-A channel 4 which is the most sensitive to the lower troposphere, the multiple linear regression with all four airmass predictors is superior to the simple linear regression with one airmass predictor of 850~300 hPa. The results of PCR with 95% accumulated variances accounted for eigenvalues showed the similar results of the multiple linear regression.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the economic and workforce factors on the annual number of occupational accident fatalities occurring at the construction sites. The considered variables of the economic factor are the amount of economic losses caused by industrial accidents, the GDP, and the total monthly wage for each economically active population. And, the variables related to the workforce factor are the number of economically active population, the number of female economically active population, and the number of labor union members. The multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect of two factors on the total number of occupational fatalities in the construction industry. The results show that GDP among considered variables in the economic factor had a statistically significant negative relationship with the number of the construction accident fatalities in the construction industry. Among variables related to the workforce factor, economically active population showed a statistically significant negative relationship with the number of the construction accident fatalities.
