Currently for the development of internet and network technology, since request of service for the large volume multimedia data has been more increased, multimedia users want the convenience and accuracy of multimedia service system about storing and retrieving of the multimedia contents. To satisfy the request of users, metadata management for the diverse information of multimedia contents is very important. However, the metadata management for the multimedia contents is difficult because the metadata standards are different each other for the type of multimedia data and service. In this paper, we propose the integration metadata management system structure which extends previous metadata management system based on text for the multimedia contents metadata which are expressed differently each other according to the multimedia data or service type.

With the advance of internet and computer processing technique, users can easily access and use the multimedia contents involving the various pictures, videos and audios information. And users request more convenient and accurate multimedia services. In these environments, it is difficulties to integrate and manage metadata standards because there are various standards in multimedia applications according to types of services and data formats individually. In this paper, we design and implement the multimedia metadata management system for integrating from heterogeneous sources. In our system, we managed heterogeneous metadata by integrating to unified schema using mapping table. Through proposed system, users can search multimedia data easily without considering variety of application services.

The storage and retrieval of multimedia data is becoming increasingly important in many application areas including record management, video(CCTV) management and Internet of Things (IoT). In these applications, the files containing multimedia that need to be stored and managed is tremendous and constantly scaling. In this paper, we propose a technique to retrieve a very large number of files, in multimedia format, using the Hadoop Framework. Our strategy is based on the management of metadata that describes the characteristic of files that are stored in Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). The metadata schema is represented in Hbase and looked up using SQL On Hadoop (Hive, Tajo). Both the Hbase, Hive and Tajo are part of the Hadoop Ecosystem. Preliminary experiment on multimedia data files stored in HDFS shows the viability of the proposed strategy.

본 논문에서는 이미지와 동영상에 대한 UCC 서비스를 쉽게 개발할 수 있는 프로토타입 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 제안하는 시스템은 멀티미디어 가공 처리 서브시스템과 메타데이터 관리 서브시스템으로 구성되어 있으며 UCC 서비스 개발자에게 필요한 API를 제공한다. 멀티미디어 가공처리 서브시스템은 이미지, 동영상에 대한 미디어 관리 및 편집 기능을 제공하며 동영상에 대한 스트리밍 서비스를 제공한다. 메타데이터 관리 서브시스템은 이미지, 동영상에 대한 메타데이터 관리 및 검색 기능을 제공한다. 또한, UCC에 대한 댓글 관리 및 스크랩 처리 기능을 제공한다.

The web 2.0 is leading a rapid change of internet services. The UCC(User Created Contents) service is one of the representative internet services with web 2.0 paradigm. In this paper, we design and implement the UCC services prototype system for image and video. The proposed system does not need to install ActiveX and client programs on devices of users to edit their contents. All processes for editing UCC are conducted on the server. Our proposed system consists of the two components such as the multimedia editing subsystem and the metadata management system. They provide the API to UCC service developers or vendors. The multimedia editing subsystem supports editing for image and video, and the streaming services of video. The metadata management subsystem supports the metadata management and retrieval of image and video.

본 연구는 국내 해양전문정보센터에서 효율적인 정보서비스를 위해 필요한 멀티미디어 메타데이터베이스와 디지털도서관 통합정보시스템을 구현할 목적으로 선행연구를 조사하고 분석하였다. 연구대상자원은 해양분야의 인쇄매체, 네트워크자원, 원문화일, 동영상 등을 범위로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 인쇄매체를 포함한 각종 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 자원의 기술과 조직을 위해 LC표준으로 사용하고 있는 MODS를 기반으로 하여 통합정보검색서비스를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 해양분야 각종 정보자원 조사, 멀티미디어 정보처리, MODS 등 메타데이터 기술요소 분석, 메타데이터 분류체계, 시스템 구성 및 검색 구현방안의 연구를 수행하였다.

차세대 디지털 방송은 다양한 서비스와 함께 방송 사용자와 제공자 사이의 양방향 통신을 가능하게 한다. 새로운 방송 환경을 위한 중요한 요소 중 하나는 분산되어있는 환경에서 여러 소비자와 공급자 간의 상호운용성의 유지에 있다. 이를 위하여 디지털 방송을 위한 메타데이타의 표준이 제안되었고, TV-Anytime 메타데이타는 이러한 요구를 만족시키기 위한 차세대 방송 표준 메타데이타의 하나이다. TV-Anytime 메타데이타는 향후 다양한 서비스로의 확장을 위하여 그 말단이 MPEG-7으로 정의되어 있다. MPEG-7은 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 기술하기 위한 메타데이타 표준으로, 방송용 컨텐츠를 기술하기 위해서 사용된다면 내용기반 검색과 같은 다양한 서비스를 제공한다. 이러한 방송용 메타데이타를 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 시스템은 실제 방송 환경에서 사용자에게 보다 질 좋은 서비스를 제공하기 위해서 필수적이다. 방송용 메타데이타의 가장 큰 특징 중 하나는 단일의 XML 스키마를 기반으로 XML로 기술된다는 것이다. 이러한 점은 기존의 XML 관리 시스템을 사용하여 방송용 메타데이타를 관리할 수 있다는 가능성을 보인다. 그러나 이들 대부분은 범용적인 방법을 사용하여 XML데이타를 관리하고 있으므로 방송용 메타데이타를 관리하기 위한 특화된 방법으로 보기는 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 방송용 메타데이타의 특성을 파악하여 방송 환경에 적절한 방송용 메타데이타 관리 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 우리의 메타데이타 관리 시스템은 실제 방송 환경에서 사용되는 표준 메타데이타를 기반으로 구현하므로, 방송 환경에 최적의 기능을 수행할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한, 우리는 방송용 메타데이타의 검색을 위한 질의어로 XML 표준 질의어인 XQuery를 사용하여 시스템 간의 상호 운용성을 확보할 수 있도록 한다.

Video data occurred in multimedia documents consist of a large scale of irregular data including audio-visual, spatial-temporal, and semantic information. In general, it is difficult to grasp the exact meaning of such a video information because video data apparently consist of unmeaningful symbols and numerics. In order to relieve these difficulties, it is necessary to develop an integrated manager for complex structures of video data and provide users of video digital libraries with easy, systematic access mechanisms to video informations. This paper proposes a generic integrated video information model(GIVIM) based on an extended Dublin Core metadata system to effectively store and retrieve video documents in digital libraries. The GIVIM is an integrated mo이 of a video metadata model(VMN) and a video architecture information model(VAIM). We also present design and implementation results of a video document management system(VDMS) based on the GIVIM.

대용량 콘텐츠를 빠르고 안정적으로 전송하기 위해 콘텐츠 전송 네트워크인 CDN(Content Delivery Network)이 사용되고 있다. CDN은 대용량 콘텐츠의 효율적인 배포와 관리를 주 목적으로 한다. 현재 구축된 CDN은 콘텐츠 제공자에 의해서 생성된 기본 메타데이터를 기반으로 콘텐츠를 관리하여 배포한 다. 그러나, 기존 CDN 관리 시스템은 효율적인 콘텐츠 관리 및 배포를 위해 필요한 추가적인 메타데이터를 적용할 수 있는 방법을 제공하지 않는다. 따라서, 콘텐츠 자체에 대한 추가적인 정보를 메타데이터에 어노테이션 할 수 없으므로, 사용자 요구에 따른 내용 정보를 바탕으로 콘텐츠를 검색할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는, CDN에서 추가적인 메타데이터를 적용할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고 이를 콘텐츠 메타데이터 관리 시스템(CMMS: Contents Metadata Management System)으로 구현하였다. CMMS를 통하여 콘텐츠 관리를 위한 메타데이터를 추가하여, 원하는 콘텐츠를 검색할 수 있으며, 검색된 결과는 CDN에서 배포할 콘텐츠들의 선별이나 관리에 도움을 줄 수 있다.
