본 논문에서는 SMIL 기반 멀티미디어 문서를 웹에서 동적으로 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 생성되는 멀티미디어 문서는 W3C에서 권장하는 SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)을 사용한다. 제안한 방법은 사용자 프로파일에 따라 자동적으로 XSLT 문서를 생성한 후, 미리 작성된 XML 문서와 결합하여 SMIL 문서를 실시간으로 생성한다. 기존 대부분의 웹 문서가 HTML에 기반함으로써 재사용성 및 문서에 포함되는 객체들의 동기적 관계의 지원이 어렵지만, 제안된 방법은 XML에 기반함으로써 재사용성을 지원하고 SMIL에 기반한 다양한 멀티미디어 문서를 효율적으로 생성한다. 적용한 예로서, 원격 강의에서 학습자에 따라 문서 생성 시스템을 보였으며, 응용 분야로는 전자 상거래, 원격 강의, 웹기반 멀티미디어 문서 편집 등이다.

The multimedia documents becomes the most natural user interface for CSCW(Conputer Supported Cooperative Work) in distributed environment. The objective of this study is to propose a multimedia document architecture and to develop a system that can manage it well. The new architecture is for revisable documents and is the basic layer for hypermedia documents. A good document architecture for CSCW must support pointing, marking, and editing over a part of documents. The user views, version control, and full- content search are also desirable features. In this paper, we discuss the basic concept of a new document architecture for CSCW. We also present the user interfaces for spatio-temporal compositions of multimedia documents.

XML 기반의 SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) 문서는 문서를 구조적인 특성에 따라 논리적 구조 정보, 공간적 구조 정보, 시간적 구조 정보, 하이퍼링크 구조 정보로 표현할 수 있다. 본 논문은 이와 같이 SMIL 문서에 내재된 다중 구조 정보를 효과적으로 모델링하고, 관련 정보를 검색할 수 있는 기능을 지원한다. 특히, 본 논문에서는 SMIL문서의 구조 정보에 대한 객체 클래스와 클래스간의 계층 구조 및 관계를 표현하기 위해 UML의 클래스 다이어그램을 이용하여 객체 지향 모델링을 제공한다. 또한 객체 클래스들을 정의하기 위해 데이터베이스 표준 언어인 SQL3를 이용하고 있다 그밖에, SMIL 문서의 구조적인 구성 요소들을 효과적으로 검색하기 위해 계층 구조 접근 연산을 제공하며, SMIL문서의 효율적인 검색을 지원하고 있다.

BADA-IV/XML is a system designed specifically for managing XML. Documents and is essential to various electronic document applications as a fundamental system. BADA-IV/XML supports all of aspects of data model, querying and manipulation operations for managing XML documents. This paper provides an overview of these aspects of the BADA-IV/XML, as well as defines schema classes for stroing, querying and maintaining hierarchical semantics of multimedia documents and structural semantics of complex documents linked with each other, Also a multimedia document query language is designed and implemented to support essential operations for efficient searching and managing multimedia documents. Finally, some simulation results show the performance of the paged VF(Virtual Fragmentation) model and the search model using element's identifier as compared with a general model.

SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)는 멀티미디어 객체들을 시간적인 동기화를 표현할 수 있는 마크업 언어이다. 본 연구에서는 SMIL 문서의 편집기 개발을 위해 시간에 따라 동기화 표현을 명확히 할 수 있는 도구인 UML의 사용 사례(Use case), 순서(Sequence), 다이어그램을 이용한 객체 모델링 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 SMIL 문서에서 UML 사용사례와 순서 다이어그램으로의 사상 규칙과 알고리즘, 형식 모델, 그리고, 모델링 함수를 제안한다. 본 연구의 의의는 손쉽게 SMIL 문서 편집기 개발을 할 수 있고, 형식 모델과 다이어그램 모델링 함수는 객체지향 데이터베이스 문서 관리의 기반이 된다는 것이다.

모바일 환경의 제한된 자원 하에서 멀티미디어 데이터를 이용하기 위해서는 XML로 표현되는 MPEG-7 문서의 효율적인 관리 방법이 필요하다. 이 때 XML 문서 클러스터링 방법들을 이용할 수 있겠으나 보다 효율성을 높이기 위해 MPEG-7 문서의 특성을 반영한 새로운 클러스터링 방법이 요구된다. 새로운 클러스터링은 모바일 환경에서 멀티미디어 검색시 질의 처리 속도가 향상되며 다양한 응용에 적합한 문서 저장이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 대용량의 멀티미디어 데이터를 MPEG-7 문서로 효율적으로 관리하기 위해 MPEG-7 문서의 엘리먼트들 사이에 나타나는 의미 관련성을 이용해 저장할 수 있는 새로운 클러스터링 방법을 제안하고, 이를 기존 방법들과 비교하였다.

Multimedia Authoring Tool is a tool for creating multimedia presentations. With this tool, a user can produce playable multimedia documents. A Multimedia Authoring Tool requires input in the form of a spatial layout and a temporal layout. Users can make many mistakes in creating multimedia presentations and verification is required in the Multimedia Authoring process in order to produce multimedia documents. In this study, two verification phases are proposed: Time Computation and Spatiotemporal Conflict Verification. In the experiment conducted for this study, two kinds of verification were carried out: The use of single-phase verification and the use of double-phase verifications. By using these two types of verification, it became easier to successfully detect errors in the spatial and temporal layouts, and the types of verification have also been successful in increasing the success of error detection.

최근 WWW의 성장과 더불어 멀티미디어전자 문서의 활용이 많아지고 있다. 특히, 디지털 도서관은 다양하고 방대한 양의 멀티미디어전자 문서들을 다루게 되는데, 이들에 대한 효율적인 검색 방법과 체계적인 관리가 필요하다. 본 논문은 디지털 도서관에서 관리되는 멀티미디어전자 문서들을 효율적으로 저장하고 검색하기 위해 Dublin core 메타데이타를 확장하여 사용한다. 그리고 이렇게 확장된 Dublin core 메타데이타에 기반한 멀티미디어 문서 데이터베이스 스키마를 설계하고 이를 관리하는 시스템인 xD-MMS를 구현한다.

Scanners play an important role in digitally reproducing the color and imaging of original documents used in public offices; however, the current system lacks a standard for digitized documents created by scanners, complicating efforts to create a digitized system. In particular, macrography cannot guarantee the accuracy and reliability of digitalized color documents, pictures, and photographs created by scanners. To this end, we develop a standardized evaluation tool and test target to certify digitalized documents created by a scanner in the domestic environment. In this study, we enhance the accuracy and reliability of scanned data to create an advanced standard evaluation tool for scanners. Moreover, to produce a scanner certification standard, we overcome existing problems related to the growing market. We anticipate that this new standard will see a high degree of application in the current environment.
