An Efficient Caching Strategy in Data Broadcasting (데이터 방송 환경에서의 효율적인 캐슁 정책)

  • TV 방송 분야에서 다양한 정보와 상호 작용성을 제공하기 위해서 최근 기존 방송 내용인 A/V 스트림 외 부가정보 방송이 시도되고 있다. 데이타 방송에 대한 기존 연구는 대부분 고정된 내용의 데이타를 방송하는 환경을 가정하고 있어서 그 결과가 방송 내용의 변화가 많은 환경에 부적합하다. 본 논문에서는 데이타에 대한 접근이 반복되지 않을 가능성이 높고 사용자 접근 확률을 예상하기 어려운 상황에서 응답 시간을 개선하는 방안으로 수신 데이타를 무조건 캐쉬에 반입하고 교체가 필요한 경우 다음 방송 시각이 가장 가까운 페이지를 축출하는 사용자 단말 시스템에서의 캐슁 정책을 제안하였다. 제안된 캐쉬 관리 정책은 평균적인 캐쉬 접근 실패 비용을 줄임으로써 사용자 응답 시간을 개선하며, 서로 다른 스케줄링 기법을 사용하는 다양한 방송 제공자가 공존하는 환경에서 보편적으로 효과를 가져올 수 있다.Abstract Recently, many television broadcasters have tried to disseminate digital multimedia data in addition to the traditional content (audio-visual stream). The broadcast data need to be cached by a client system, to provide a reasonable response time for a user request. Previous studies assumed the dissemination of a fixed set of items, and the results are not suitable when broadcast items are frequently changed. In this paper, we propose a novel cache management scheme that chooses the replacement victim based on the remaining time to the next broadcast instance. The proposed scheme reduces response time, where it is hard to predict the probability distribution of user accesses. The caching policy we present here significantly reduces expected response time by minimizing expected cache miss penalty, and can be applied without difficulty to different scheduling algorithms.

Finding the Minimum MBRs Embedding K Points (K개의 점 데이터를 포함하는 최소MBR 탐색)

  • There has been a recent spate in the usage of mobile device equipped GPS sensors, such as smart phones. This trend enables the posting of geo-tagged messages (i.e., multimedia messages with GPS locations) on social media such as Twitter and Facebook, and the volume of such spatial data is rapidly growing. However, the relationships between the location and content of messages are not always explicitly shown in such geo-tagged messages. Thus, the need arises to reorganize search results to find the relationship between keywords and the spatial distribution of messages. We find the smallest minimum bounding rectangle (MBR) that embedding k or more points in order to find the most dense rectangle of data, and it can be usefully used in the location search system. In this paper, we suggest efficient algorithms to discover a group of 2-Dimensional spatial data with a close distance, such as MBR. The efficiency of our proposed algorithms with synthetic and real data sets is confirmed experimentally.

A Study on the Development of the 『Guunmong』 Story's Digital Image-Contents by Collective Intelligence (집단지성기반의 『구운몽』 디지털 이미지 콘텐츠 개발 방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the necessity and method of the development of modern digital image contents using the story of the literary work 'Guunmong'' by Kim Man-joong. Collective intelligence technique is one of the most recommended. Today, most cultural content development is achieved through the application of digital technology through collaboration of various people from the planning stage to the completion stage. Most prototypes of local cultural contents are developed based on the literary works of artists from the region or background of the region on the works. These local cultural resources can be developed into experiential tourism products and used for the development of local cultural industry. This study first examines the availability of collective intelligence method as a way to effectively develop local cultural contents, and proposes application of image-telling technique and using web-toon characters in digital image contents development. In order to prove the practical applicability of the proposed method, we present an example of cultural contents development of 'Guunmong'. Finally, we propose a new business model based on collective intelligence to develop a system of creation and distribution of the cultural contents through the continuous collaboration.
