  • In this study, the boundary element analysis in dynamics for the multilayered semi-infinite plane is developed using the fundamental solution for moving loads. Also the indirect method and superposition method are introduced to consider the multilayered systems and moving loads. At each layer the fundamental solution can be obtained by solving the governing equation which is transformed by the Fourier transform. The governing equation can be solved by three conditions; continuity conditions of displacement and stress, the traction free condition at the surface and the radiation condition at the surface and the radiation condition at the infinite distance. To verify the solution and the developed algorithm, the theoretical solution for the homogeneous layer and commercial FEM program is compared with the results of this study.

  • Multilayered coatings on tungsten carbide cutting tools are widely used for enhancing cutting performance. In this paper, we review the CVD TiC/TiCN multilayer as a function of the multilayer period. The TiC/TiCN multilayers in initial stage show preferred (220) orientation but shifts to (200) orientation with decreasing multilayer period. The nanohardness of TiC/TiCN multilayers were found to increase with decreasing multilayer period and shows a maximum of 23.8 GPa at a period = 33.5 nm.

  • The dielectric properties of PZT(4060)/(6040) multilayered thin films with substrate temperature were investigated. PZT(4060)/(6040) thin films were deposited by RF sputtering method on Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrates with different substrate temperature of $200{\sim}700^{\circ}C$. Increasing the substrate temperature, perovskite structure was increased, and PZT (001), (110), (002), (200) peaks were increased. The relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss of PZT(4060)/(6040) multilayered thin films at the substrate temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ were 843 and 2.45, respectively at 1000(Hz).

  • The present paper is focused on analyzing the delamination of inhomogeneous multilayered rods of circular cross-section loaded in torsion. The rods are made of concentric longitudinal layers of individual thickness and material properties. A delamination crack is located arbitrary between layers. Thus, the internal and external crack arms have circular and ring-shaped cross-sections, respectively. The layers exhibit continuous material inhomogeneity in radial direction. Besides, the material has non-linear elastic behavior. The delamination is analyzed in terms of the strain energy release rate. General solution to the strain energy release rate is derived by considering the energy balance. The solution is applied to analyze the delamination of cantilever rod. For verification, the strain energy release rate is derived also by considering the complementary strain energy.

  • This paper is focused on delamination analysis of a multilayered inhomogeneous viscoelastic beam subjected to linear creep under constant applied stress. The viscoelastic model that is used to treat the creep consists of consecutively connected units. Each unit consists of one spring and two dashpots. The number of units in the model is arbitrary. The modulus of elasticity of the spring in each unit changes with time. Besides, the modulii of elasticity and the coefficients of viscosity change continuously along the thickness, width and length in each layer since the material is continuously inhomogeneous in each layer of the beam. A time-dependent solution to the strain energy release rate for the delamination is derived. A time-dependent solution to the J-integral is derived too. A parametric analysis of the strain energy release rate is carried-out by applying the solution derived. The influence of various factors such as creep, material inhomogeneity, the change of the modulii of elasticity with time and the number of units in the viscoelastic model on the strain energy release rate are clarified.

  • Delamination of multilayered inhomogeneous beam that exhibits non-linear relaxation behavior is analyzed in the present paper. The layers are inhomogeneous in the thickness direction. The dealamination crack is located symmetrically with respect to the mid-span. The relaxation is treated by applying a non-linear stress-straintime constitutive relation. The material properties which are involved in the constitutive relation are distributed continuously along the thickness direction of the layer. The delamination is analyzed by applying the J-integral approach. A time-dependent solution to the J-integral that accounts for the non-linear relaxation behavior is derived. The delamination is studied also in terms of the time-dependent strain energy release rate. The balance of the energy is analyzed in order to obtain a non-linear time-dependent solution to the strain energy release rate. The fact that the strain energy release rate is identical with the J-integral value proves the correctness of the non-linear solutions derived in the present paper. The variation of the J-integral value with time due to the non-linear relaxation behavior is evaluated by applying the solution derived.

  • This paper is focused on the delamination analysis of a multilayered beam structure loaded in torsion under strain-path control. The beam under consideration has a rectangular cross-section. The layers of the beam are made of different viscoelastic materials which exhibit continuous inhomogeneity in longitudinal direction. Since the delamination is located inside the beam structure, the torsion moments in the two crack arms are obtained by modeling the beam as an internally static undetermined structure. The strain energy stored in the beam is analyzed in order to derive the strain energy release rate (SERR). Since the delamination is located inside the beam, the delamination has two tips. Thus, solutions of the SERR are obtained for both tips. The solutions are verified by analyzing the beam compliance. Delamination analysis with bending-torsion coupling is also performed. The solutions derived are timedependent due to two factors. First, the beam has viscoelastic behavior and, second, the angle of twist of the beam-free end induced by the external torsion moment changes with time according to a law that is fixed in advance.

  • The problem considered in this theoretical paper is the delamination of a multilayered inhomogeneous beam structure that has viscoelastic behaviour under angle of twist, horizontal and vertical displacements which vary smoothly with time according to prescribed laws. The cross-section of the beam is a rectangle. The layers are made of different materials which are smoothly inhomogeneous along the length of the beam. The beam under consideration represents statically undetermined structure since it is clamped in its two ends. The problem of the strain energy release rate is solved. For this purpose, the strain energy stored in the beam structure is analyzed. In order to verify the solution obtained, the strain energy release rate is found also analyzing the time-dependent compliances of the beam under prescribed angle of twist and displacements. A parametric investigation is carried-out by applying the solution obtained. Special attention is paid to the effect of the parameters which control the variation of the angle of twist and the displacements with time on the strain energy release rate.

  • Adaptive analysis of multilayered composite and sandwich plates is carried out. The adaptive analysis is based on a finite element error form, which measures the difference between the through-the-thickness distribution of finite element displacement and the actual displacement. The region where the error-measure exceeds the prescribed admitted error value, the finite element mesh locally refined in the thickness direction using the mesh superposition technique. Several numerical tests are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the current approach for adaptive analysis of laminated plates.

세 가지 촉매탑이 고안되었는데 sheet type의 membrane을 사용한 multilayered type 과 double spiral type, hollow fiber membrane을 사용한 hollow fiber cartridge type 등이다. multilayered type은 구조가 단순하여 scale-up이 용이하고 double spiral type은 다른 type보다 유로의 blocking 문제가 작고 hollow fiber cartridge type은 최대의 비표면적을 가질 수 있다.
