Profiling Patterns of Volatile Organic Compounds in Intact, Senescent, and Litter Red Pine (Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc.) Needles in Winter

  • This study was aimed to investigate the changes of chemical composition of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from red pine needles in the process of needle abscission or senescence. The VOCs in intact, senescent, and litter red pine needle samples were analyzed by headspace-solid phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC/MS). And then, multivariate statistical interpretation of the processed data sets was conducted to investigate similarities and dissimilarities of the needle samples. Principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were used to investigate the dataset structure and discrimination between samples, respectively. From the data preview, the levels of major components of VOCs from needles were not significantly different between needle samples. By PCA investigation, the data reduction according to classification based on the chlorophyll a / chlorophyll b (Ca/Cb) ratio were found to be ideal for differentiating intact, senescent, and litter needles. The following OPLS-DA taking Ca/Cb ratio as y-variables showed that needle samples were well grouped on score plot and had the significant discriminant compounds, respectively. Several compounds had significantly correlated with Ca/Cb ratio in a bivariate correlation analysis. Notably, the litter needles had a higher content of oxidized compounds than the intact needles. In summary, we found that chemical compositions of VOCs between intact, senescent, and litter needles are different each other and several compounds reflect characteristic of needle.

건강보험 청구자료를 이용한 진료 연속성이 당뇨 관련 예방 가능 입원에 미치는 영향 분석: 중·고령군을 중심으로 (Effects of Continuity of Care on Diabetes-Related Avoidable Hospitalizations among Middle- and Old-Aged Patients: Analysis of National Health Insurance Claims Data)

  • Background: Diabetes is known as one of the most important ambulatory care sensitive conditions. This study purposed to assess the status of continuity of care (COC) and diabetes-related avoidable hospitalizations (DRAHs) of a group of middle- and old-aged patients and to observe the relationship of the two elements by the two age groups. Methods: This study utilized the National Health Insurance Service's National Sample Cohort data and the subjects are diabetes patients of 45 and over, classified into two groups of 'middle-aged'(45-64 years) and 'old-aged'(${\geq}65years$) patients. The dependent variable was DRAHs, which was defined in accordance with the definition of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development "Health Care Quality Indicators" project. COC, as an independent variable, is measured by the COC index in this study. Two-part model (multi-variate and multi-level analyses) was utilized. Results: Factors associated with the status and the number of DRAHs differed by each age group. Meanwhile, the two-part model showed that higher COC was associated with a lower risk of preventable hospitalizations in both middle- and old-aged groups. Conclusion: Study findings can provide health policy insights and implications in order to strengthen the primary care system for further improvement of diabetes management, especially for middle- and old-aged groups.

Modeling Hydrogen Peroxide Bleaching Process to Predict Optical Properties of a Bleached CMP Pulp

  • In this paper, the possibility of statistical modeling from the pulp and peroxide bleaching condition variables to predict optical properties of a bleached chemimechanical pulp used in a newsprint paper machine at Mazandaran Wood and Paper Industries Company (MWPI) was studied. Due to the variations in the opacity and the brightness of the bleached pulp at MWPI and to tackle this problem, it was decided to study the possibility of modeling the bleaching process. To achieve this purpose, Multi-variate Regression Analysis was used for model building and it was found that there is a relationship between independent variables and pulp brightness as well as pulp opacity, consequently, two models were constructed. Then, model validation was carried out using new data set in the bleaching plant at MWPI to test model predictive ability and its performance.

신포괄수가 시범사업 모형 개선 이후의 지불정확도 변화 (The Effect of Reform of New-Diagnosis Related Groups (KDRGs) on Accuracy of Payment)

  • Background: Korea set up new diagnosis related group (DRG) as demonstration project in 2009. The new DRG was reformed in 2016. The main purpose of study is to identify the effect of reform on accuracy of payment. Methods: This study collected inpatient data from a hospital which contains medical information and cost from 2015 to 2016. The dependent variables were accuracy of total, bundled, unbundled payment, and payment for procedures. To analyze the effect of reform, this study conducted a multi-variate regression analysis adjusting for confounding variables. Results: The accuracy of payment increased after policy reform. The accuracy of total, bundled, unbundled payment, and payment for procedures significantly increased 3.90%, 2.92%, 9.03%, and 14.57% after policy reform, respectively. The accuracy of unbundled payment showed the largest increase among dependent variables. Conclusion: The results of study imply that policy reform enhanced the accuracy of payment. The government needs to monitor side effects such as increase of non-covered services. Also, leads to a considerable improvement in the value of cost unit accounting as a strategic play a role in development of DRG.

  • 최근에 컴퓨터를 이용한 영상처리기술 및 고속통신망의 발달과 더불어 하드웨어의 고성능화로 의학분야에서 발생되는 영상들에 대해 분석 및 처리를 자동화하려는 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 말초혈액영상에서 혈구세포들을 자동으로 분석, 분류 및 카운트하기 위해 다층신경망에 기반한 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 CDD 카메라가 부착된 현미경으로부터 영상을 입력받아 적혈구와 백혈구 분류를 위한 다양한 특징추출 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 또한, PCA를 적용해 다차원의 특징을 저차원으로 줄여 분류기의 훈련과 인식 시간을 단축시킴으로서 보다 효율적인 분류기 시스템을 구축하였다. 따라서 , 본 논문에서는 제안된 시스템이 실제 임상 병리진단 가이드 시스템에 적용 가능함을 보일 수 있었다.

  • 면적(面積)이 광대(廣大)하며 지형(地形)은 험준(險峻)한 산림(山林)에서 그의 축적(蓄積)을 조사(調査)하기에는 여러 난점(難點)이 많다. 중량(重量)과 용적(容積)에 비(比)하여 그 가격(價格)이 저렴(低廉)한 임목(林木)의 축적(蓄積)을 조사(調査)하는데 많은 시간(時間)과 노력(勞力)을 소비(消費)함은 산림경영상(山林經營上) 아주 비경제적(非經濟的)이다. 그러므로 항공사진(航空寫眞)만을 가지고 용이(容易)하게 ha 당(當) 임분재적(林分材積)을 추정(推定)할 수 있도록 임분재적표(林分材積表)를 작성(作成)하고 임분재적(林分材積)과 관련(關聯)있는 인자(因子)의 재적추정(材積推定)에의 관여성(關與性)을 구명(究明)하였다. 재료(材料)는 임업시험장(林業試驗場) 광릉시험림내(光陵試驗林內)에 식재(植栽)한 잣나무림(林) 114개소(個所)이며 근래(近來)에 발달(發達)한 통계학(統計學)의 일종(一種)인 다변량해석(多變量解析)과 수량화(數量化)의 이론(理論)을 응용(應用)하였으며 계산(計算)은 한국과학기술연구소(韓國科學技術硏究所)(K.I.S.T.)의 전자계산기연구실(電子計算機硏究室)에서 행(行)하였다. 조제(調製)된 임분재적표(林分材積表)의 중상관계수(重相關係數)는 0.85~0.88 로 상당(相當)히 높은 정확도(正確度)를 갖고 있다.

장기요양시설 거주노인의 치매 여부에 따른 신체활동수준과 관련 요인: 개인 및 기관 특성의 영향 (Current Status and Factors Related to Physical Activity of Older Nursing Home Residents with and without Dementia: Effects of Individual and Institutional Characteristics)

  • Background: Physical activity (PA) is critical for maintaining the health and well-being of older people in community and also institutional settings. The purpose of this study was to examine the current status of PA and related individual and organizational factors among older nursing home residents with and without dementia. Methods: This is a secondary data analysis study of a nationwide survey of 92 long-term care facilities in Korea, and the study sample includes older residents with dementia (n= 753) and without dementia (n= 480). The level of PA was measured by PA time and whether or not residents had an outdoor activity over the past 3 days. Multi-variate, multi-level analyses were conducted. Results: More than half of the sample in both groups had no or less than 1 hour of PA. About one out of four older people in our sample had no outdoor activity over the past 3 days regardless of whether or not they had dementia. Among the people without dementia, several individual-level factors were associated with PA, including dependency for activities of daily living, social activity participation, and caregivers' belief in the functional improvement of residents. Unlike the non-dementia group, individual- and organizationallevel factors including staffing level and having the relevant equipment for PA were associated with PA among those with dementia. Conclusion: Study findings provide evidence on the lack of PA among older nursing home residents, and the importance of institutional capacity with regard to human resources and physical equipment for promoting PA among people with dementia, in particular. Policies and supports are needed to promote the implementation of healthy aging programs including PA for older nursing home residents. Such programs should be person-centered with consideration to the physical and cognitive status of individual residents.

스펙트럼분석 기반의 미기상해석모듈 평가알고리즘 제안 및 시계열 군집분석에의 응용 (A spectrum based evaluation algorithm for micro scale weather analysis module with application to time series cluster analysis)

  • 기상분야에서는 다양한 미기상해석모듈 (micro scale weather analysis module)을 개발하여 초고분해능의 기상정보서비스를 실시간으로 제공하고자 노력하고 있다. 이와 같은 연구들은 최근 대도시의 양적인 팽창으로 인해 발생되는 도시 미기상 (micro meteorology)의 급격한 변화에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 경제적 사회적 활동을 가능케 한다. 따라서 미기상해석모듈의 정확성은 도시 미기상정보서비스의 품질 및 효용성에 직결된다. 본 논문은 미기상해석모듈이 생성하는 시-공간적인 특성을 가진 양적인 결과물의 정확성에 대한 평가체계를 설계하였다. 이와 더불어 평가체계의 구성에 사용될 평가도구로써 시계열평균의 동일성검정 알고리즘을 스펙트럼 분석기법으로 구축하였으며, 동일성 검정통계의 함수를 거리측도로 사용하는 시계열 군집분석법도 함께 개발하였다. 또한, 사례연구를 통해 제안된 군집분석법과 평가알고리즘의 유용성을 보였다.

중소제조기업의 부실예측모형 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Failure Pprediction Models for Small and Medium Manufacturing Company)

  • 본 연구는 코스닥 시장에 상장 폐지된 중소제조기업의 재무자료를 이용하여 다변량 판별분석모형, 로지스틱회귀분석모형 그리고 인공신경망분석모형을 구축하고 이들의 예측력을 비교분석하였다. 표본기업은 2009년에서 2012년까지 상장 폐지된 83개의 부실기업과 83개의 정상기업 총166개사로 정하였다. 166개사 중에서 무작위로 부실기업50개사와 정상기업 50개사 총100개사를 선정하여 훈련용 표본(training data)으로 모형을 구축하는데 사용하였다. 나머지 66개사는 모형의 예측성과를 평가하기 위하여 검증용 표본(test data)으로 사용하였다. 과거 5년 동안의 재무비율 79개 자료로 T-test를 실시하여 5년 연속 유의미한 변수 9개를 선정하고 각각의 모형을 구축하였다. T-test 결과, 부실초기에는 주로 수익성지표들이 부실예측에 주요 변수로 나타났으며 부실 후반에 가면서 안정성지표와 현금흐름지표들이 추가로 유의미한 변수로 나타났다. 모형의 예측력을 비교해 보면 훈련용 표본의 경우, 로지스틱회귀분석모형이 가장 높은 분류 정확도를 보였고, 검증용 표본의 경우에는 인공신경망모형이 가장 높은 분류 정확도를 보였다. 본 연구는 첫째, 부실이 서서히 진행된다는 점을 감안하여 T-test를 실시하여 5년 연속 유의미한 변수로 모형을 구축하여 변수의 시계열적인 측면이 고려되었다는 점과, 둘째, 기존 선행 연구들이 정규성을 무시하고 판별분석모형을 구축하였으나, 본 연구가 정규성 여부를 검정하고 모형을 구축하였다는 점이 차별화된다. 본 연구에 따른 정책적 시사점은 부실기업의 징후는 본 논문에서처럼 대체로 재무제표에 나타나기 때문에 회사에 대한 공시서류의 신회성 확보가 중요하다. 따라서 이런 점에서 회계법인 혹은 세무기장 종사자들의 도덕적 해이을 억제할 수 있는 제도적 장치가 강화되어야 할 것이다.

50세 이상 한국 남성의 알코올과 흡연력이 골밀도에 미치는 영향에 대한 복합표본 분석 (Complex Sample Analysis of the Effect of Alcohol Drinking and Smoking Period on Bone Mineral Densities in Korean Men Aged 50 Years and Over)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effect of the level of alcohol drinking and smoking period on the occurrence of lumbar and femoral neck osteoporosis in men aged 50 years and over. Methods: This study analyzed the data of 1,410 men based on results of a National Survey on Nutritional Health for the period 2010-2012. Complex sample multi-variate logistic regression analysis was conducted to determine whether alcohol drinking and smoking period were associated with osteoporosis in men aged 50 years older. Results: The risk of osteoporosis in the femoral neck was 3.43 times (95% confidence interval [CI]=1.15~10.29) higher in men who consumed less alcohol and smoked for a long time compared to men who smoked more than 40 years and consumed much alcohol at once. The risk of osteoporosis in the lumbar spine was 3.45 times (95% confidence interval [CI]=1.69~7.04) higher respectively. Men who consumed much alcohol at a time and smoked less than 40 years were 1.54 (1/0.65) times (95% confidence interval [CI]=0.45~0.93) more likely to be classified as normal than the men who consumed much alcohol and had a long smoking period. Conclusion: The interaction of excessive drinking and smoking has a more detrimental effect on bone mineral density.
