Polyethylene flow prediction with a differential multi-mode Pom-Pom model

  • We report the first steps of a collaborative project between the University of Queensland, Polyflow, Michelin, SK Chemicals, and RMIT University, on simulation, validation and application of a recently introduced constitutive model designed to describe branched polymers. Whereas much progress has been made on predicting the complex flow behaviour of many - in particular linear - polymers, it sometimes appears difficult to predict simultaneously shear thinning and extensional strain hardening behaviour using traditional constitutive models. Recently a new viscoelastic model based on molecular topology, was proposed by McLeish and carson (1998). We explore the predictive power of a differential multi-mode version of the porn-pom model for the flow behaviour of two commercial polymer melts: a (long-chain branched) low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and a (linear) high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The model responses are compared to elongational recovery experiments published by Langouche and Debbaut (19c99), and start-up of simple shear flow, stress relaxation after simple and reverse step strain experiments carried out in our laboratory.

운동치료의 변화와 발전 (Change and Development of Therapeutic Exercise)

  • Therapeutic exercise had developed with human being. It depend upon development of physiology, anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics. There are two categories in therapeutic exorcise. One is classical therapeutic exercise which is a activity of one muscle group, one axis and one plane motion. It is ROM, FRE. osteokinematics, arthrokinematics. Another is neurophysiological approach which is multi muscle group, multi axis and plane exercise. It is PNF and Bobath that start from 1940 to early 1950. Classical therapeutic exorcise develop from ROM to osteokinematics and arthrokinematics. It is foundation of the joint mobilization and orthopaedic manual physical therapy. Neurophysiological therapeutic approaching has more theory and skills than before. Bobath methods had changed from reflex-inhibiting posture to key points of control and added the theory of musculoskeletal, biomechanics, motor behaviour and cognition. We call it motor control.

플라이휘일 하이브리드 차량의 다경로 동력전달장치 연구 (A Study on Multi Pass Transmission System for a Flywheel Hybrid Vehicle)

  • In this paper, using MATLAB SIMULINK, a generalized design methodology was suggested for multi pass transmission(MPT) by classifying the vehicle power train as prime mover, MPT and vehicle dynamics. This approach enables a designer to investigate the influence of each transmission component by simple combination of system components without changes of overall program. Using the design methodology, a MPT consisting of CVT, 2, clutches and reduction gears was designed for a braking energy regenerative flywheel hybrid vehicle. The CVT is essential in order to connect the engine and flywheel speed with the vehicle speed. For the purpose of smooth clutch operation, control algorithm was suggested by introducing dead zone for the clutch engagement. Using the SIMULINK model, performance of the flywheel hybrid vehicle with MPT was investigated. It was observed from the simulation results that the MPT vehicle showed better fuel economy, 47% than that of AT vehicle, 27% than that of CVT vehicle for ECE-15 driving cycle. Especially destinct fuel efficiency improvement was obtained for city driving cycle requiring more frequent stop and start.

  • Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) is rotated by reluctance force generated between rotor pole and stator pole. So SRM must be switched by exciting current according to rotor position. but SRM takes the advantages of high speed driving and very simple structure. The single phase SRM can not be start by itself and torque ripple is generated more than multi-phase SRM. But mechanical structure and driver is simpler than multi-phase SRM. The single phase SRM driver is composed with the absolute encoder and DSP to control exciting section and current, and is supplied by constant voltage. So The paper is intend to measure the speed charactrer of double silent pole type SRM by using the unipolar driving curcuit.

  • Fuel-cell powered Railway Vehicle Propulsion Systems (RVPSs) are highly desirable due to environment friendly characteristics, and high efficiency of fuel cell (FC). Among various types, the faster start-up and optimality to frequent starts and stops of Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) makes it well suited for propulsion systems. A comprehensive model of PEMFC with reflection of multi-physics behavior required to identify and validate its performance in real RVPSs. Thus this paper will model and simulate the PEMFC unit cell model: a detailed reflection of governing laws and account of dynamic conditions.

  • Defined is a Multi-level Parallel Machine Flow-Shop (MPMFS) which reflects some real world manufacturing situations. Just-In-Time (JIT) philosophy is applied to the MPMFS scheduling in order to achieve lowering work-in-process inventory level as well as meeting due dates. A schedule generating simulator is developed. The latest start time of each operation is determined by a backward simulation followed by another forward simulation to analyze the schedule feasibility and actual inventory level. Reasonable schedules are available through adjusting some parameters for allowance factors such as set-up times of machines and other environmental changes. The SLAMSYSTEM under Window is employed for this processing with some input/output data handling processes devised under DOS.

  • 본 논문은 카메라로 찍은 투사 사영(Perspective Projection)의 한 영상으로부터 물체의 크기와 위치를 계산하기 위해서 3 개의 소실 점만을 사용해서 계산하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 우리의 접근 방법은 투사 사영의 영상으로부터 초점 거리(Focal Length), 회전 행렬(Rotation Matrix) 등의 정보들 없이 3개의 소실 점만을 가지고 계산하는 방법이다. 물체는 꼭지점(vertices)의 좌표가 크기 벡터 v 의 선형 함수로서 표현할 수 있는 다각형으로써 모델이 된다는 것을 가정한다. 이 재구성의 입력은 영상에서 특징 점과 모델에서 특징 점 사이 대응점의 집합으로 표현할 수 있다. 이 매개 변수 모델의 각각 크기를 최적화하기 위해서, 재구성의 최적화는 동일하게 매개 변수 공간을 샘플링에 의한 최적화기에 대하여 다중 시작점(multiple starting points)을 발생하는 다중 시작(multi-start) 방법을 가지는 표준 비선형 최적화 기법을 효과적으로 해결할 수가 있다.

CRISPR/Cas9-mediated generation of a Plac8 knockout mouse model

  • Placenta specific 8 (PLAC8, also known as ONZIN) is a multi-functional protein that is highly expressed in the intestine, lung, spleen, and innate immune cells, and is involved in various diseases, including cancers, obesity, and innate immune deficiency. Here, we generated a Plac8 knockout mouse using the CRISPR/Cas9 system. The Cas9 mRNA and two single guide RNAs targeting a region near the translation start codon at Plac8 exon 2 were microinjected into mouse zygotes. This successfully eliminated the conventional translation start site, as confirmed by Sanger sequencing and PCR genotyping analysis. Unlike the previous Plac8 deficient models displaying increased adipose tissue and body weights, our male Plac8 knockout mice showed rather lower body weight than sex-matched littermate controls, though the only difference between these two mouse models is genetic context. Differently from the previously constructed embryonic stem cell-derived Plac8 knockout mouse that contains a neomycin resistance cassette, this knockout mouse model is free from a negative selection marker or other external insertions, which will be useful in future studies aimed at elucidating the multi-functional and physiological roles of PLAC8 in various diseases, without interference from exogenous foreign DNA.

A mean-absolute-deviation based method for optimizing skid sequence in shipyard subassembly

  • 본 논문은 조선소 소조립 공정의 스키드 컨베이어 환경에서 전체 작업 시간을 최소화하기 위해 스키드 처리 순서를 최적화하는 방법을 제안한다. 소조립 공정은 일련의 정해진 작업들로 구성되며 스키드의 종류에 따라 요구되는 작업 시간이 다르다. 전체 작업 시간을 결정짓는 스키드의 컨베이어 투입 순서는 적절하게 최적화되어야 하며 문제 크기는 스키드 개수에 따라 지수적으로 증가한다. 이러한 점에서 UniDev라 불리우는 새로운 방법을 제안하는데 동시간에 진행되는 작업 소요 시간의 차이에 관한 평균절대편차를 정의하고 이를 점진적으로 개선한다. 다양한 스키드 개수와 공정의 개수에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과 제안된 방법이 Multi-Start 방법과 2-OPT 방법보다 전체 작업 소요 시간을 효과적으로 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

A hybrid genetic algorithm for the optimal transporter management plan in a shipyard

  • 본 연구에서는 트랜스포터의 할당 및 운행 순서를 최적화하기 위한 유전 알고리즘을 제안한다. 유전 알고리즘의 해는 리스트의 집합으로 표현되는데 각 리스트는 해당 트랜스포터가 작업할 순서를 나타낸다. 또한 성능 향상을 위해 효과적인 지역 탐색 연산을 결합한 혼합형 유전 알고리즘의 형태로 구현하였다. 지역 탐색 연산은 작업량이 적은 트랜스포터에서 작업의 블록을 꺼내어 다른 트랜스포터의 작업 목록에 삽입함으로써 트랜스포터 운용 대수의 감소를 유도한다. 제안하는 알고리즘의 효용성을 평가하기 위해 실제 조선소와 유사한 규모의 시뮬레이션 환경을 통해 Multi-Start 및 순수 유전알고리즘과 비교하였다. 가장 큰 규모의 문제에 대해 그들에 비해 트랜스 포터 수는 각각 40% 및 34%, 총작업 소요 시간은 27% 및 17% 감소시켰다.
