  • A new conception of public-key cryptography MEPKC, Petri net based Multi-stage-Encryption Public-Key Cryptography, has been proposed in onder to guarantee stronger network communication security. Different from an ordinary public-key cryptography that opens only a single public key to the public, MEPKC opens a key-generator that can generate multiple encryption keys and uses these keys to encrypt a plain text to a cipher text stage by stage. In this paper, we propose the methods how to carry out the encryption operations. First, we describe how to design a hash function H that is used to conceal the encryption keys from attack. Then, given with a key-generator (a Petri net supposed to possess a large number of elementary T-invariants), we discuss how to randomly generate a series of encryption keys, the elementary T-invariants. Finally, we show how to use these encryption keys to encrypt a plain text to a cipher text by applying a private key cryptography, say DES.

  • This paper proposes a multi-stage encryption technique to enhance the level of secrecy of image to facilitate its secured transmission through the public network. A great number of researches have been done on image secrecy. The existing image encryption techniques like visual cryptography (VC), steganography, watermarking etc. while are applied individually, usually they cannot provide unbreakable secrecy. In this paper, through combining several separate techniques, a hybrid multi-stage encryption technique is proposed which provides nearly unbreakable image secrecy, while the encryption/decryption time remains almost the same of the exiting techniques. The technique consecutively exploits VC, steganography and one time pad (OTP). At first it encrypts the input image using VC, i.e., splits the pixels of the input image into multiple shares to make it unpredictable. Then after the pixel to binary conversion within each share, the exploitation of steganography detects the least significant bits (LSBs) from each chunk within each share. At last, OTP encryption technique is applied on LSBs along with randomly generated OTP secret key to generate the ultimate cipher image. Besides, prior to sending the OTP key to the receiver, first it is converted from binary to integer and then an asymmetric cryptosystem is applied to encrypt it and thereby the key is delivered securely. Finally, the outcome, the time requirement of encryption and decryption, the security and statistical analyses of the proposed technique are evaluated and compared with existing techniques.

  • Today, the cloud computing has become a major demand of many organizations. The major reason behind this expansion is due to its cloud's sharing infrastructure with higher computing efficiency, lower cost and higher fle3xibility. But, still the security is being a hurdle that blocks the success of the cloud computing platform. Therefore, a novel Multi-tenant Decentralized Information Flow Control (MT-DIFC) model is introduced in this research work. The proposed system will encapsulate four types of entities: (1) The central authority (CA), (2) The encryption proxy (EP), (3) Cloud server CS and (4) Multi-tenant Cloud virtual machines. Our contribution resides within the encryption proxy (EP). Initially, the trust level of all the users within each of the cloud is computed using the proposed two-stage trust computational model, wherein the user is categorized bas primary and secondary users. The primary and secondary users vary based on the application and data owner's preference. Based on the computed trust level, the access privilege is provided to the cloud users. In EP, the cipher text information flow security strategy is implemented using the blowfish encryption model. For the data encryption as well as decryption, the key generation is the crucial as well as the challenging part. In this research work, a new optimal key generation is carried out within the blowfish encryption Algorithm. In the blowfish encryption Algorithm, both the data encryption as well as decryption is accomplishment using the newly proposed optimal key. The proposed optimal key has been selected using a new Self Improved Cat and Mouse Based Optimizer (SI-CMBO), which has been an advanced version of the standard Cat and Mouse Based Optimizer. The proposed model is validated in terms of encryption time, decryption time, KPA attacks as well.

  • This paper proposes the design of an advanced S-Box for calculating multiplicative inverse in AES encryption process. In this approach, advanced S-box module is first designed based on composite field, and then the performance evaluation is performed for S-box with multi-stage pipelining architecture. In the proposed S-Box architecture, each module for multiplicative inverse is constructed using combinational logic for realizing both small-area and high-speed. Through logic synthesis result, the designed 3-stage pipelined S-Box shows speed improvement of about 28% compared to the conventional method. The proposed advanced AES S-Box is performed modelling at the mixed level using Verilog-HDL, and logic synthesis is also performed on Spartan 3s1500l FPGA using Xilinx ISE 14.7 tool.

  • Digital image processing and retrieving have increasingly become very popular on the Internet and getting more attention from various multimedia fields. That results in additional privacy requirements placed on efficient image matching techniques in various applications. Hence, several searching methods have been developed when confidential images are used in image matching between pairs of security agencies, most of these search methods either limited by its cost or precision. This study proposes a secure and efficient method that preserves image privacy and confidentially between two communicating parties. To retrieve an image, feature vector is extracted from the given query image, and then the similarities with the stored database images features vector are calculated to retrieve the matched images based on an indexing scheme and matching strategy. We used a secure content-based image retrieval features detector algorithm called Speeded-Up Robust Features (SURF) algorithm over public cloud to extract the features and the Honey Encryption algorithm. The purpose of using the encrypted images database is to provide an accurate searching through encrypted documents without needing decryption. Progress in this area helps protect the privacy of sensitive data stored on the cloud. The experimental results (conducted on a well-known image-set) show that the performance of the proposed methodology achieved a noticeable enhancement level in terms of precision, recall, F-Measure, and execution time.

  • The fast emerging of network technology and the high demand of computing resources have prompted many organizations to outsource their storage and computing needs. Cloud based storage services such as Microsoft's Azure and Amazon's S3 allow customers to store and retrieve any amount of data, at anytime from anywhere via internet. The scalable and dynamic of the cloud storage services help their customer to reduce IT administration and maintenance costs. No doubt, cloud based storage services brought a lot of benefits to its customer by significantly reducing cost through optimization increased operating and economic efficiencies. However without appropriate security and privacy solution in place, it could become major issues to the organization. As data get produced, transferred and stored at off premise and multi tenant cloud based storage, it becomes vulnerable to unauthorized disclosure and unauthorized modification. An attacker able to change or modify data while data inflight or when data is stored on disk, so it is very important to secure data during its entire life-cycle. The traditional cryptography primitives for the purpose of data security protection cannot be directly adopted due to user's lose control of data under off premises cloud server. Secondly cloud based storage is not just a third party data warehouse, the data stored in cloud are frequently update by the users and lastly cloud computing is running in a simultaneous, cooperated and distributed manner. In our proposed mechanism we protect the integrity, authentication and confidentiality of cloud based data with the encrypt- then-upload concept. We modified and applied proxy re-encryption protocol in our proposed scheme. The whole process does not reveal the clear data to any third party including the cloud provider at any stage, this helps to make sure only the authorized user who own corresponding token able to access the data as well as preventing data from being shared without any permission from data owner. Besides, preventing the cloud storage providers from unauthorized access and making illegal authorization to access the data, our scheme also protect the data integrity by using hash function.
