In this paper, we propose tracking algorithm using multi resolution in wavelet transform domain. This algorithm consists of two steps. The first step is feature extraction that is select feature-points using 1-level wavelet transform in ROI (Region of Interest). The other step is feature tracking. Based on multi resolution of wavelet transform, we estimate a displacement between current frame and next frame on the basis of selected feature-points. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm confirmed a better performance than a centroid tracking and correlation tracking.

In this paper, a new hierarchical motion estiamtion scheme using the wavelet transformed multi-resolution image layers is proposed. Compared with the full search motion estimation method, the existing hierarchical methods remarkably reduce the amount of the computation but their efficiencies are depreciated by the local minima problem. In order to solve the local minima problem, the multi-resolution image layers are composed using the wavelet transform and the number of layers participated in the motion estimation for a block is determined by considering of its low band energy and higher band energy on the first wavelet transformed layer. The ratio between higher band energy and low band energy of each block is evaluated and in the case of the blocks which include relatively large higher band energy, the motion estimation is carried out in the high resolution layer. Otherwise, all layers are used. The final motion vectors are obtained in the first wavelet transformed layer. So less bits for motion vectors are transmitted, and the decomposition of received image using inverse wavelet transform decreases the blocking effect.
In this paper, we propose a new algorithm based on multi-resolution application of the parameter space to the Hough transform technique. The existing Hough transform technique employs mapping of fixed parameter space in order to extract straight lines from image. One of the difficulties of the existing Hough transform technique lies in the detection of multiple adjacent lines for only one line. Increasing the parameter space from the low level resolution to the high level resolution, our algorithm detects straight line in a stable and efficient fashion. Experimental results are included to verity the performance of proposed algorithm.
This paper presents a method for registering images using phase correlation technique in fourier domain, hough transform and multi-resolution wavelet. To register images, source and input images are transformed to wavelet domain. An angular transition can be obtained by applying hough transform technique followed by phase correlation. Then we apply phase correlation technique to find x-axis and y-axis transition. We apply wavelet transform to reduce processing time and also use its coefficients as edge information instead of canny detector. With multi-resolution property of wavelet transform, registration time can be greatly reduced. After we get all transition parameters, we transform the input images according to these parameters. Then, we compose and blend all images into a new large image with details of all source images. From our experiment, we can find the accurate transition both x-y translation and angular transition with less error.

The video coding for very low bit rate has recently received considerable attention, but conventional block based transform coding schemes suffer from the blocking effect for the constraints of bit rates. In this paper, we present a video coding sysem suing multi-resolution motion estimation/compensation with variable size block(VMRME/C) and multi-resolution vector quantization(MRVQ) in wavelet transform domain for very low bit rate coding. It is shown that the presented scheme has better performance in the peak signal-to-nose ratio(RSNR) by 0.2-0.6 dB as well as subjective quality than that of conventional block based transform video coding techniques(especially, H. 263 which is DCT based video coding).

Multi-resolution Signal Decomposition (MSD) Technique of Wavelet Transform has interesting properties of capturing the embedded horizontal, vertical and diagonal variations within an image in a separable form. This feature was exploited to identify individual partial discharge sources present in multi-source PD pattern, usually encountered during practical PD measurement. Employing the Daubechies wavelet, feature were extracted from the third level decomposed and reconstructed horizontal and vertical component images. These features were found to contain the necessary discriminating information corresponding to the individual PD sources and multi-PD soruces.

Speckle noise reduction for power Doppler ventricle coherent image for restoration and enhancement using Fast Wavelet Transform with multi-thresholding and multi-filtering on the each subbands is presented. Fast Wavelet Transform divides into low frequency component image to high frequency component image to be multi-resolved. Speckle noise is located on high frequency component in multi-resolution image mainly. A Doppler ventricle image is transformed and inversed with separated threshold function and filtering from low to high resolved images for restoration to utilize visualization for ventricle diagnosis. The experimental result shows that the proposed method has better performance in comparison with the conventional method.
Shack-Hartmann sensors are widely employed as a wavefront measuring device in various applications. Adaptive optics is one of the major applications. Since an adaptive optics system should be operated in real-time, high-speed wavefront sensing is essential. In high-speed operation, integration time of an image detector is very short. In this case, noises such as readout noise and photon noise greatly influence the accuracy of wavefront sensing. Therefore a fast and noise-insensitive centroid finding algorithm is required for the real-time wavefront sensing. In this paper, the multi-resolution correlation method is proposed. By employing multi-resolution images, this method greatly reduces the computation time when compared to the fast Fourier transform (FFT) correlation method. The verification is performed through the computational simulation. In this paper, the center of mass method, correlation method and multi-resolution correlation method are employed to compare the measurement accuracy of the centroid finding algorithms. The accuracy of a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor using the proposed algorithm is proved to be comparable to that of the conventional correlation method.

In this paper, we propose a learning-based super-resolution algorithm. In the proposed algorithm, a multi-resolution wavelet approach is adopted to perform the synthesis of local high-frequency features. To obtain a high-resolution image, wavelet coefficients of two dominant LH- and HL-bands are estimated based on wavelet frames. In order to prepare more efficient training sets, the proposed algorithm utilizes the LH-band and transposed HL-band. The training sets are then used for the estimation of wavelet coefficients for both LH- and HL-bands. Using the estimated high frequency bands, a high resolution image is reconstructed via the wavelet transform. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can synthesize high-quality images.

In this paper, we propose a digital watermarking method using Multi-resolution Characteristic of 2D CAT (2D cellular automata transform). Firstly, we select the gateway values to generate a basis function and the basis function transforms images into cellular automata space. Then, we embed the random bit sequence as watermark in specific parts of cellular automata transform coefficients. The proposed method not only verifies higher fidelity than the existing method but also stronger stability on JPEG lossy compression, filtering, sharpening and noise through tests for robustness. Moreover, the proposed scheme allows only one 2D CAT basis function per gateway value. Since there are $2^{96}$ possible gateway values.
