In this paper, we propose a mobile image retrieval system which utilizes the mobile device's sensor information and enables running in a variety of the environments, and implement the system on Android platform. The proposed system deals with a new image descriptor using combination of the visual feature with EXIF attributes in the target of JPEG image, and image matching algorithm which is optimized to the mobile environments. Experiments are performed on the Android platform, and the experimental results revealed that the proposed algorithm exhibits a significant improved results with large image database.

Windows provides Directshow for efficient multimedia streaming processings such as multimedia capture, storage, display and etc. Presently, many motion picture codecs and audio codecs are made to be used in Directshow framework and Windows also supports many codecs (MPEG4, H,263, WMV, WMA, ASF, etc.) in addition to a lot of useful tools for multimedia streaming processing. Therefore, Directshow can be effectively utilized for developing windows-based multimedia streaming applications such as visual monitoring systems which needs to store real-time video data for later retrieval. In this paper, we present our efforts for developing a Directshow Filter System supporting storage of motion pictures in various motion picture codecs. Our Directshow Filter system also provides an additional functionality of motion detection.

XML has been proposed as a document standard for the representation and exchange of data on the WWW, and also becoming a standard for the search and reuse of scattered documents. When implementing a XML contents management system, special consideration should be imposed on how to model data and how to store the modelled data for effective and efficient management of the semi-structured data. In this paper, we proposed a new data model for the storage and search of XML document data. This proposed data model could represent both of data and structure views of XML documents, and be applied to the new data system for XML documents as well as the existing data systems.
