CFD에 의한 입형 다단 원심펌프 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flow Characteristics of Vertical Multi-stage Centrifugal Pump by CFD)

  • A commercial CFD code is applied to analyze the 3-D viscous flow field within vertical multi-stage centrifugal pimp including impeller with 6 blades and guide vane with 11 blades and is performed by changing flow rate from 10 to $26\;m^3/h$ at the constant 3500rpm. The purpose of this 3-D numerical simulation is to confirm how much the effect of blade inlet angle of guide vane has an influence on the performance of vertical multi-stage centrifugal pimp. these results performed by $20^{\circ},\;30^{\circ}$ inlet angle of guide vane are compared with grundfos performance data. The vertical multi-stage pump consist of the impeller, guide vane, and cylinder. The characteristics such as total pressure coefficient total heat shaft horse power, power efficiency, discharge coefficient are represented according to flow rate changing.

  • An inverse finite element approach is employed for more capability to design the optimum blank shape from the desired final shape with small amount of computation time and effort. For multi-stage deep-drawing processes, numerical analysis is extremely difficult to carry out due to its complexities and convergence problem as well as tremendous computation time. In this paper, multi-stage finite element inverse analysis is applied to multi-stage rectangular cup drawing processes to calculate intermediate blank shapes and strain distributions in each stages. Finite element patches are used to describe arbitrary intermediate sliding constraint surfaces.

Modeling and Multivariable Control of a Novel Multi-Dimensional Levitated Stage with High Precision

  • This paper presents the modeling and multivariable feedback control of a novel high-precision multi-dimensional positioning stage. This integrated 6-degree-of-freedom. (DOF) motion stage is levitated by three aerostatic bearings and actuated by 3 three-phase synchronous permanent-magnet planar motors (SPMPMs). It can generate all 6-DOF motions with only a single moving part. With the DQ decomposition theory, this positioning stage is modeled as a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) electromechanical system with six inputs (currents) and six outputs (displacements). To achieve high-precision positioning capability, discrete-time integrator-augmented linear-quadratic-regulator (LQR) and reduced-order linearquadratic-Gaussian (LQG) control methodologies are applied. Digital multivariable controllers are designed and implemented on the positioning system, and experimental results are also presented in this paper to demonstrate the stage's dynamic performance.

The numerical analysis of vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump is performed by changing flow rate from $8\;to\;26\;m^{3}/h$ at the constant 3500rpm. The characteristics such as total pressure coefficient, total head, water horse power, power efficiency are represented according to flow rate changing. In the future, we will need to perform flow calculation of vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump by considering meridional shape of impeller.

  • In the present work a finite element formulation using dynamic-explicit time integration scheme is used for numerical analysis of multi-stage stamping processes. The lumping scheme is employed for the diagonal mass matrix and dynamic explicit formulation Multi-Stage stamping is analyzed by using dynamic-explicit finite element method. Further, the simulated results for the panel stamping processes are shown and discussed. Its application is being increased especially in the stamping industrial area for the cost reduction, weight saving, and improvement of strength.

  • A new efficient intelligent machining strategy named the Steepest Directed Tree method is presented in this study, which makes surface model discrete with triangulation meshes and the cutter paths track along the tree directions. In order to formulate these algorithms practically, it is deduced the multi-stage machining approach of uncut volume caused by cutter gouging in the course of milling using flat end mill. It is systematized the checking process the cutter interference by grouping the 6 kinds of gouging types, which yields the environment of connectivity data lists including CL-data, and then the multi-stage machining strategy, that minimizes uncut area by continuously sequencing the generative subsequent CL-paths, is shamed to determine the second tool path for the next uncut area and to compose the operating multi-stage cutting processes. The completed machining system of curved surfaces is evaluated by testing the practical machining experiments which have various kinds of shape conditions.

신뢰도 벡터 기반의 다단계 음성인식 (Multi-stage Speech Recognition Using Confidence Vector)

  • In this paper, we propose a use of confidence vector as an intermediate input feature for multi-stage based speech recognition architecture to improve recognition accuracy. A multi-stage speech recognition structure is introduced as a method to reduce the computational complexity of the decoding procedure and then accomplish faster speech recognition. Conventional multi-stage speech recognition is usually composed of three stages, acoustic search, lexical search, and acoustic re-scoring. In this paper, we focus on improving the accuracy of the lexical decoding by introducing a confidence vector as an input feature instead of phoneme which was used typically. We take experimental results on 220K Korean Point-of-Interest (POI) domain and the experimental results show that the proposed method contributes on improving accuracy.

등속조인트용 외륜의 다단 냉간 단조공정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Multi-Stage Cold Forging for an Outer Race of a CV Joint)

  • This study deals with a series of experimental investigations on multi-stage cold forging of an outer race used for a constant velocity (CV) joint with six inner ball grooves. The multi-stage cold forging, which consists of forward extrusion, upsetting, backward extrusion, and combined sizing-necking including ironing, was used to produce a prototype of the outer race. The cold forging tools such as forging punches and dies required in this multi-stage cold forging were also designed and fabricated. For the combined sizing-necking, especially, the longitudinally six-segmentallized punches were developed to easily eject from the necked inner groove of the outer race with consideration of the operating mechanism. Spheroidized SCr420H billet was used in the experimental study. To verify the suitability of the proposed process, the obtained parts were obtained from each forging operation, and the geometries were compared with the target dimensions. It was confirmed that the outer race with six inner ball grooves was well forged by adopting the proposed multi-stage cold forging, and the dimensional accuracy of the forged outer race matched well with the requirements.

  • 본 논문에서는 Multi-stage 코일건의 동작시간에 따른 성능향상 및 솔레노이드의 최적화에 대해 연구하였다. 동일한 저항값을 가진 솔레노이드에 자기차폐효과를 적용시켜 최적화된 솔레노이드 형상을 설계하였으며, 이 솔레노이드 3개를 이용해 Multi-stage 코일건을 제작하였다. 제작된 Multi-stage 코일건의 성능 향상을 위해 본 논문에서는 AVR(ATmaga128)을 이용하여 각 솔레노이드의 동작시간을 제어하고 Multi-stage 코일건의 각 동작시간에 따라 발사체의 속도가 증가한다는 것을 측정값을 통해 검증하였다.

  • Objective of the present study is to examine the convergence characteristics of the various multi-stage Runge-Kutta methods in solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations of a time-marching from casted by the artificial compressibility method. Convergence characteristics are examined over 2-stage, 4-stage and hybrid type (using 4-, 3-, 2-stages sequentially) Runge-Kutta methods for a laminar lid-driven cavity flow, and also for a turbulent bump channel flow using Chien's low-Reynolds number turbulence model. Efforts are made to establish a stable and fast convergent multi-stage Runge-Kutta method with minimal artificial dissipations.
