Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have excellent electrical, chemical stability, mechanical and thermal properties. In this paper, networks of Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) materials were investigated as resistive gas sensors for ethanol ($C_2H_5OH$) detection. Sensor films were fabricated by air spray method for the multi-walled CNTs solution on glass substrates. Sensors were characterized by resistance measurements in the sensing system, in order to find the optimum detection properties for the ethanol gas molecular. The film that was sprayed with the MWCNT dispersion for 60 see, was 300 nm thick. And the electric resistivity is $2{\times}10^{-2}\;{\Omega\cdot}cm$. Also, the sensitivity and the linearity of MWVNT sensor for ethanol gas are 0.389 %/sec and 17.541 %/FS, respectively. The MWCNT film was excellent in the response for the ethanol gas molecules and its reaction speed was very fast, which could be using as ethanol gas sensor. The conductance of the fabricated sensors decreases when the sensors are exposed to ethanol gas.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have excellent electrical, chemical stability, mechanical and thermal properties. In this paper, networks of Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) materials were investigated as a resistive gas sensors for the $H_2$ gas detection. Sensor films were fabricated by the air spray method using the multi-walled CNTs dispersion solution on the glass substrates cured with plasma and nitrocellulose. Sensors were characterized by the resistance measurements in the self-fabricated oven in order to find the optimum detection properties for the hydrogen gas molecular. The sensitivity and the linearity of the MWVNT sensors using the glass substrate cured with plasma for the $H_2$ gas concentration of 0.06~0.6 ppm are 0.013~0.097%/sec and 0.131~0.959%FS, respectively. The MWCNT film was excellent in the response for the hydrogen gas moleculars and its reaction speed was very fast, which could be using as hydrogen gas sensor. The resistance of the fabricated sensors decreases when the sensors are exposed to $H_2$ gas.

Most diesel injector, which is currently used in high-pressure common rail fuel injection system of diesel engine, is driven by the solenoid coil energy for its needle movement. The main disadvantage of this solenoid-driven injector is a high power consumption, high power loss through solenoid coil and relatively fixed needle response's problem. In this study, a prototype piezo-driven injector, as a new injector mechanism driven by piezoelectric energy based on the concept of inverse piezo-electric effect, has been designed and fabricated to know the effect of piezo-driven injection processes on the diesel spray structure and internal nozzle flow. Firstly we investigated the spray characteristics in a constant volume chamber pressurized by nitrogen gas using the back diffusion light illumination method for high-speed temporal photography and also analyzed the inside nozzle flow by a fully transient simulation with cavitation model using VOF(volume of fraction) method. The numerical calculation has been performed to simulate the cavitating flow of 3-dimensional real size single hole nozzle along the injection duration. Results were compared between a conventional solenoid-driven injector and piezo-driven injector, both equipped with the same micro-sac multi-hole injection nozzle. The experimental results show that the piezo-driven injector has short injection delay and a faster spray development and produces higher injection velocity than the solenoid-driven injector. And the predicted simulation results with the degree of cavitation's generation inside nozzle for faster needle response In a piezo-driven injector were reflected to spray development in agreement with the experimental spray images.

In this paper we presented experimental results of a gas sensor utilizing multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT)composites for the alcohol detection which is useful to checking drinking and driving, for example. The MWNT-composites were deposited using spray method on PES substrates suitable for use in low-cost and flexible sensors. We observed the variation of conductance from the sensors exposed to alcohol vapors evaporated at 37C equal to the human body temperature to match real condition. As the result, the conductance was decreased with the increase of ethanol vol% diluted in water. The sensors showed good sensitivity and linearity.
The interaction between chemistry and turbulence is treated by employing the Representative Interactive Flamelet (RIF) Model. The detailed chemistry of 114 elementary steps and 44 chemical species is adopted for the n-heptane/air reaction. In order to account for the spatial inhomogeneity of the scalar dissipation rate, the multi-RIF is used. The effect of the number of RIF on ignition delay is discussed in detail. Numerical results indicate that the present RIF approach successfully predicts the ignition delay time as well as the essential features of a spray auto-ignition process.
The composite films were fabricated by air-spray method under the 2 kgf/$cm^2$ pressure using the multi-walled CNTs solution and the nitrocellulose on a 10 ${\mu}m$ polyimide film substrates. We obtained the composite films which were sprayed with the MWCNT dispersion by varying the spray time from 20, 40 and 60sec. The electrical and the optical properties of the sandwiched-structure-composite thin films were investigated by an UV/VIS spectrometer and a Hall Effect equipment. As a result, the optical transmittance of all thin films in the visible range, as well as the electrical conductance shows an available value for the transparent electrode. The carrier concentration and the light transmittance rate for the fabricated sample are between $3.733{\times}10^{10}$ and $6.551{\times}10^{14}cm^{-3}$, around 35 to 95%, respectively.
In this study, the effects of the characteristics of droplets of water spray on suppression of fire were analyzed numerically using fire dynamics simulator (FDS) 6.5.2. Additionally, the fire suppression characteristics by the water spray nozzle, including the extinguishing coefficient (EC), droplet size distribution function (SDF), median volumetric diameter (MVD), and droplets per second (DPS), were evaluated in terms of the decreasing normalized heat release rate (HRR) curve and cooling time. It was observed that with increase in the EC, the normalized HRR curve decreased rapidly, and the changing MVD affected the suppression of fire. In case of mono-disperse, the normalized HRR curve decreased slowly with the increase in DPS. On the contrary, in case of multi-disperse, the normalized HRR curve decreased rapidly even with a small increase in DPS.

A new spray carnation cultivar 'Leo' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science in 2003. A cross was made between spray cultivar 'Ballantyne' and 'West peachy' in 1999. After investigation of the characteristics four years (from 2001 to 2003), it was finally selected in 2003. 'Leo' is a spray cultivar with light yellow color for a cut flower. The main characteristics are multi branching, long vase life and early flowering habit than 'Diamond'(control). It has medium resistance to Fusarium wilt and 9 days vase life.
Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dynamic matrix control (DMC) technique is applied to control steam temperatures in a large-scale ultrasupercritical once-through boiler-turbine system. Specifically, four output variables (i.e., outlet temperatures of platen superheater, finish superheater, primary reheater, and finish reheater) are controlled using four input variables (i.e., two spray valves, bypass valve, and damper). The step-response matrix for the MIMO DMC is constructed using the four input and the four output variables. Online optimization is performed for the MIMO DMC using the model predictive control technique. The MIMO DMC controller is implemented in a full-scope power plant simulator with satisfactory performance.

Graphene, a new material with various advantageous properties, has been actively used in various fields in recent years. Applications of graphene oxide are increasing in combination with other materials due to the different properties of graphene oxide, depending on the number of single and multiple layers of graphene. In this study, single-layer graphene oxide and multi-layer graphene oxide are spray coated on polystyrene, and the physicochemical properties of the coated surfaces are characterized using SEM, Raman spectroscopy, AFM, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and contact angle measurements. In single-layer graphene oxide, particles of 20 ㎛ are observed, whereas a 2D peak is less often observed, and the difference in surface height increases according to the amount of graphene oxide. Adhesion increases with an increase in graphene oxide up to 0.375 mg, but decreases at 0.75 mg. In multi-layer graphene oxide, particles of 5 ㎛ are observed, as well as a 2D peak. According to the amount of graphene oxide, the height difference of the surface increases and the adhesive strength decreases. Both materials are hydrophilic, but single-layer graphene oxide has a hydrophilicity higher than that of multi-layer graphene oxide. We believe that multi-layer graphene oxide and single-layer graphene oxide can be implemented based on the characteristics that make them suitable for application.
